My current job in retirement is that of an online teacher in Communications and English. This I have done since before my retirement from The Boeing Company some 3 years ago. During my aerospace careers with Boeing and Northrop and my high school teaching career, I was an adjunct college teacher in the subject areas of computer science, English, and Economics.
I have been an activist, an engineer, a teacher, a poet, a novelist, a father, and a grandfather, not necessarily in that order. Cosmology is my special interest, furthered by my Facebook page, Our Ties to the Cosmos. I am too old to be an advocate for saving the planet, but I have been known recently to take to the streets and parks in protest.
I plan to write columns that expose the Republican war against the people and their allegiance to the rich. I plan to do columns reviewing books and musicians of special interest. Lastly, I plan to write about how our lives tie in with the vast sweep of the cosmos.
For too long our country's focus has been almost exclusively on unbridled greed, as though it is the path to prosperity for all. The consequence is a plutocratic country which principally awards the rich and affords little opportunity to the rest. We need to return to what is beneficial for the common good. Only through this goal can our democracy survive and prospertity be enjoyed by the majority once again.
