Who is John McCain?
- He toughts himself as a “Straight Talker”.
- He prides himself on “Town Hall” meetings.
- He's called a “Deal Maker” and “Reformer” that goes across party lines.
- He's touted as a “Maverick” that's willing to take a stand.
All the above words at one time or another have been used to describe John McCain. But, who is John McCain and what does he really stand for?
Straight Talk at Town Hall Meetings (and Conventions…) –
At a recent “Town Hall” meeting, some protesters shouted “endless war, endless war…”. How did this “Straight Talker” respond? Did he respect their right to free speech? The answer is a resounding “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!” They were removed from the premises and John McCain made snide comments regarding their right to protest.
McCain: Forty five years ago, President John F Kennedy asked the American people to imagine, what the world would look like if Nuclear weapons spread beyond the few powers that then held them. To the many other nations that sought them. Stop and think for a moment he said, what it would mean to have nuclear weapons in so many hands large and small…
Protester: Endless war, endless war, Endless war, endless war…. end this war, end this war…
Crowd: John McCain, John McCain.
McCain: You know ahhh, it’s not too important, but I have town hall meetings all the time, I’ll be having one tomorrow where people are allowed to come and state their views and we exchange them and the one thing we don’t do is interfere with other people’s right to free speech, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with these people…
You don't interfere with anyone's right to free speech? So, why we're these people removed? That's because John McCain and the NeoCons are oppressors of anyone with a different opinion. How's that for “Straight Talk” in a “Town Hall Meeting”?
What are McCain and the NeoCons doing at the various Republican State Conventions? Are they allowing Ron Paul supporters to voice their opinions and elect delegates. Are they playing the game fairly?
A lawsuit was recently filed that required the Republican Party of Texas to conduct the State GOP convention in accordance with the Texas Election Code. The Republican Party of Texas arrogantly refused to do so. As a result, another lawsuit was filed requesting a restraining order that would force the party to follow the law.
Imagine that, a restraining order had to be filed to get the Republican Party in Texas to follow it's own rules. Within a few hours after the restraining order was filed, the Court ruled in favor of the rule of Law. It's a good thing we have “Mr. Straight Talk at your local Town Hall Meeting” John McCain watching out for US to make sure that the rules are followed in the Republican State Conventions!
Recent shenanigans by the “Old Guard” NeoCons in Republican State Conventions that were held in Minnesota, Missouri, Washington State, and, of course, Nevada, is shining a light on who and what these NeoCons (NeoFascists) are. The NeoFascists are turning the Republican Party into the Repugnant Party. Thanks to Ron Paul and his supporters the NeoFascists are being stinkbombed out of their dark trenches. Yet, these NeoCons are conning the true Republican Party members (mostly Ron Paul supporters) who are trying to have their voices heard. These NeoFascists continue to do all they can to stifle free speech within their own state conventions! At some recent state conventions, Ron Paul supporters were basically told to shut up and obey the orders of the Old Guard.
Here's an excerpt from a letter that was sent to the “Old Guard Republicans”: Minnesota GOP: “Vote for McCain and Shut Up!”
“In a chilling attack on free speech and open discussion among Republicans, the missive exhorts GOP members to attend the State Convention this Friday and assist the party establishment in stifling the growing number of dissenting voices:
Dear Republican friend,
…Unfortunately, the supporters of Ron Paul still refuse to unite our party behind our presumptive nominee.
…Finally, reject efforts of the Paul minority to disrupt and manipulate our convention with challenges to the convention rules and procedures. Cries for “fairness” by the Paul group are simply desperate tactics by a minority who simply don’t have the votes and wish to overcome the will of the majority. Manufactured confusion and delay has been the standard for Paul supporters at other State GOP conventions. Support the Committee Reports that will be presented and don’t open the door for Paul manipulation.
History has taught us that Republicans need to stand united if we are to win in November….we have our nominee, John McCain.”
And all of this stifling of free speech is being done for the benefit of “Mr. Straight Talk at your local Town Hall Meeting” John McCain.
The “Deal Maker” and “Reformer” –
John McCain is well known for reaching across party lines to make deals. He has made many deals with various Democrats in the past few years. The laundry list is a long list that includes prominent Democrats such as Hillary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, Russ Feingold, Dianne Feinstein, Ted Kennedy, and more… John McCain likes working with Democrats so much that he even strove to become John Kerry's running mate as recently as the 2004 Presidential election (which would have pitted him against George Bush…). And this is the person that could be the flag bearer of the Republican Party? (Gee, I wonder how many Republicans are suffering from memory loss?)
He's a deal maker alright. It's just a matter of who he is making the deals with that bothers me… So, why doesn't John McCain do some real straight talking and tell us that he is really a Democrat in Republican clothing?
McCain is also called a reformer. He reformed campaign finance rules only to be accused of breaking the very law he championed as recently as February 2008…
Regarding reform, John McCain and the NeoCons have reformed (hijacked) the ideology of the Republican Party and turned it into the War Party.
John McCain has been called someone that takes a stand. When Ron Paul defeated him handedly in the Republican debates, all McCain did was sneer and snicker at him. Did he reach over and shake Ron's hand? Did he ever say, hey Ron, I may not agree with you, but I respect your right to free speech? Did he ever say, Ron, you have some good points, maybe I should reconsider my stance on some of these issues? The “Maverick” never made a stand for Ron Paul or his supporters. If he was a real “Maverick” he would respect what Ron Paul is trying to accomplish and demand that Ron Paul and the voice of his supporters are heard at state conventions.
The McNeoCons are bringing dark politics to US. Who really wants the McNeoCon platform to be adopted by the Republican Party? Hats off to all of the brave Ron Paul supporters and delegates that are making a stand. These brave souls are combating the McNeoCons in state conventions and they are not backing off. At the same time, the McNeoCons are plotting dark schemes behind closed doors to stifle all attempts to reform the Republican Party from within.
It is shameful that a judge in Texas has to rule so that the Republican Party will follow it's own rules at a convention. It's also pathetic that McCain and the McNeoCons have brought the Republican Party to this point. And all this stifling of other views in the name of unity…
By stifling dissent within their own ranks, the McNeoCons are showing their true colors (and it is not red, white, and blue… it is red as in blood red…). John McCain should hold a true “Town Hall” style convention and do some real “Straight Talk” about the real direction that the Republican Party is going. McCain should listen to all of the voices within his own political party. McCain is supposed to be a “Deal Maker” and “Reformer” that reaches across political parties… So, John, if you can supposedly do all of that, then why not be a real “Maverick” and reach out to all the members within your own party?
