Are Settled Class Action Suits Scams?
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, November 5, 2009)

If you are thinking about filing a class action suit, find an attorney who understands that if s/he is unable to negotiate a substantial award for each member of the settlement class, that you will insist that the suit be taken to trial; otherwise, you are merely involving yourself in a lawyerly boondoggle in which the lawyers will use your misery to enrich themselves. If your lawyer is not going to get you and your colleagues substantial awards, at least make sure that s/he does not get any either.

China Support Network writes to Obama
by John Kusumi (centrist liberal, November 5, 2009)

The President will visit Asia Nov. 12-19 and China on the 15th-18th. In an open letter, the China Support Network has advice for Obama and for CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

The new entitlement: Canadians and others as de facto Americans
by robertjb (centrist liberal, November 2, 2009)

An open letter to my American cousins

Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest in Higher Education
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, October 23, 2009)

As an elderly, former university professor, I am deeply anguished whenever I come across shameful academic writing. Such writing not only exposes the inability of the writer but it exhibits the extent of decline in American university teaching and is a symptom of a decadent civilization. Institutions that employ these writers have abandoned the classical educational ideals of truth, goodness, and beauty for belief, greed, and exploitation. And not only Americans but the whole world is paying a horrid price for it.

Nobel? That's No Prize
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, October 22, 2009)

Excellent journalism was never a priority of Joseph Pulitzer's, and the prizes reflect it. So does the mainstream press which is yellower than ever in both the conventional journalistic sense and the colloquial sense of cowardly. Even worse, however, are the Nobels. They are almost always given to those committed to Western civilization and Capitalism. So now Obama has gotten the prize. Why was it awarded to him? Because he is a protector of the economic status quo and a hegemonist—a true child of a decadent civilization. The deadly arms manufacturer would be highly pleased.

Political Paralysis American Style
by robertjb (centrist liberal, October 19, 2009)

Obama must be recast as the Hollywood hero

Operation 'Can You Hear Us Now'?
by John Kusumi (centrist liberal, October 15, 2009)

My open letter written to the organizers for Saturday (10/17/2009)'s multi-city march on America's news media

Mortgage Anyone?
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, September 30, 2009)

Why are the standard terms for mortgages 15 and 30 years? Could it be because downturns in the American economy have occurred on an average of once every 14.5 years? When a buyer defaults on a loan after paying on it for 14 years, the lender gets the house for free, sells it again, and nets a small fortune or an investment of zero. Wouldn't you like to find a way of doing that?

Nuclear Politics: Western leaders asinine game of brinksmanship
by robertjb (centrist liberal, September 28, 2009)

To date they failing grades on all counts.

News conference scolds China and Hong Kong
by John Kusumi (centrist liberal, September 20, 2009)

The triumph of ideology over common sense
by robertjb (centrist liberal, September 19, 2009)

9/11 and "War on Terror": Politicians Are Clever - People Are the Problem
by Edu Montesanti Goldoni (liberal, September 15, 2009)

Taking into account the unsuccessful 9/11 Commission and the disastrous "War on Terror" aftermath, it is clear that there is a side totally wrong and isolated from the real debate on world terrorism. Far from us having the only answer and being able to close the debate, we analyze the reality inside Afghanistan and find two alternatives to understand what the world is witnessing on "fight on terror". Feel free to choose one option

We have praise for Obama, jeers for Tom Friedman, and we're announcing a press conference and an art exhibit.

Everywhere Arms Races
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, September 12, 2009)

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and President Obama claim that both North Korea and Iran must be prevented from developing nuclear capabilities to prevent arms races in North East Asia and the Near East. But the United States of America began the international nuclear arms race more than sixty years ago and has never taken the task of eliminating nuclear weapons seriously. So yes, as ye sow, so shall ye reap! Why should anyone expect otherwise.

Can libertarians overthrow the Neo-Conservatives?
by Dale Husband (liberal, August 26, 2009)

Libertarians as a party don't win elections because they limit their diversity, which in turn limits their numbers. That needs to change.

Sign the Petition to Request That Ben 'Systematic Risk' Bernanke be Removed From Office.
by Shalom P. Hamou (liberal libertarian, August 13, 2009)

Bernanke was the only cause, I proved, of the Great Recession and probably acted on purpose. He had the knowledge (Bernanke is a renown specialist of The Great Depression he even wrote a book on the subject: Essays on the Great Depression.), the means, motive (The gigantic power he has received thanks to The Great Recession.), and opportunity.

Give me death panels, or give me liberty!
by John Kusumi (centrist liberal, August 12, 2009)

I am truly and genuinely sitting on the fence as I contemplate this decision. Do I support death panels? Or do I support my fellow Americans?

Michael Jackson Memorial Day
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, July 8, 2009)

Michael Jackson had no peace in life, and it is unlikely that the media will allow him to rest in peace in death. Hell hath no pain greater than that which can be inflicted by media moguls whose only goal is to turn tragedy into orgies of entertainment. This media now feigns honor, but the authentic honor comes only from his fans who displayed true civility and profound humanity during his memorial service, proving once again that true virtue lies only within the hearts of common people.

Do Not Believe The Pundits On China’s Century
by James Raider (liberal libertarian, July 7, 2009)

China has created a massive middle class in a single generation, but it has yet to empower it. American consumers are unconsciously pushing back the clock on that empowerment of the Chinese middle class through their dramatic behavior modification of the past year.

Lawmakers Billing Taxpayers
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, July 5, 2009)

The Congress enacts legislation for itself which provides itself with what are essentially employee benefits. So it treats its members as employees of themselves. In doing so, the Congress provides taxpayer subsidized employee benefits to its members that it refuses to provide to the people Congressmen represent.

ABC’s Nightlie

America lacks a mainstream press. What it has is a mainstream cess, as in ‘cesspool.’

International Media Distorted Statements of Afghan Women's Leader
by Edu Montesanti Goldoni (liberal, June 22, 2009)

Malalai Joya granted an outspoken interview to a Brazilian website, with explosive revelations on US occupation in Afghanistan, totally cut and shamefully modified by the reporter. Bad luck to world mafia: Ms. Joya sent us, exclusively, the original version. We publish "both interviews" here, and analyse how works the tendentious media, down on its knees before this mockery of war on terror. The more time goes by, the more clearly we see the puppets in the Empire. Prepare yourself to cry. Prepare yourself to vomit with us

An Open Letter to John Cornyn and the Congress
by John Kozy (centrist liberal libertarian, June 19, 2009)

If private insurance companies had any interest or desire to provide Americans with a high-quality healthcare system, it has had half a century to do it and hasn’t. Private industry has no interest in solving social problems. Never has, never will have. It’s only interest is profit. And profit buys no medicine.

A Flower Sprouts Among Stones in Afghanistan
by Edu Montesanti Goldoni (liberal, May 18, 2009)

Is there any hope to Afghanistan? Yes, there is! In the country of the Taliban and so feared warlords, the Afghan hope lies on its combatant men, and on its several brave women. To them our admiration, solidarity and prayer; to Malalai Joya our following words of love - just because she has been giving her life away, after being expelled from the Afghan Parliament for denouncing the warlords - drug traffickers. Joya will never be killed, and her voice will be forever the voice of her people
