Larry Ward

Government in Exile
by Larry Ward (Libertarian)

About The Author

This space asks for a statement about me.  Instead, I will make a statement about the "we" that is referred to in the description of this column.  We are a minority within a minority and exiles in our own land.  We have been fooled by the Ron Paul movement which talked the good talk to get our support but did not deliver action- the good walk.

We have been fooled repeatedly by similar false factions but now recognize ourselves as exiles in all of those factions.  They want us to pledge alligiance to their doctrines, buy their books, subscribe to their web sites- and then pay our fare and shuffle our wooly heads to the back of the bus and let them drive the ship of state into the rocks.

We have awakened to find ourselves totally alone and cast out of all assemblies purporting to represent us and our principles.  But now we recognize ourselves as a new union, distilled from the waste of all the false starts, and competant to act to rebuild America on the great foundations of liberty, from the bottom up.

I invite you to participate in the actions of this new union, meeting under the name of the Common Sense Party for American renewal at CreativeSedition.com

About The Column

We need to form a new union and act as a government in exile to provide for our mutual defense in the coming storm and to launch projects that produce real weath and opportunity to sustain us as the economy collapses.

Our government in exile needs offers, selected by some kind of plebesite. The internet allows us all to participate in the making of our laws and policies.  We need a web facility to host thoughtful and orderly deliberation and debate and empower citizens of our cyber space government in exile to decide on our laws and policies after the debate.  This virtual legislature needs also to select leaders.

Kudos to Nolan Chart.  At this time, it serves rather well as a free press.  I hope it will grow in its policies and facilities as our government in exile grows in unity and strength.

Our government in exile needs a president to preside over and coordinate the many actions of our government in exile.  It needs other officers as well.  Among those other officers it needs an attorney general to file Pro Se (that is lawyer free) suits in Federal Court.  It needs creative executive power for actions that are approved by the membership- real actions, not just cheer leading pep rallies.

Our government in exile is the minority party at present.  But as the establishment regime collapses under the weight of its own absurdity, the people will turn to our sane model of government and restore us to power to restore liberty and the Constitution  to the seat of government in American government, life and law.

The Liberty Card- An offer Ron Paul can't refuse
Published: March 19, 2008
Ron Paul's proposed march on Washington seems to me like a frivolous expenditure of the political capital we have invested in him. Let's use techniques we've learned campaigning for him to appeal to him to do better.

Challenge to Ron Paul Economic Revitalization Plan
Published: January 28, 2008
There is an uncanny silence about the Economic Revitalization Plan published by Ron Paul on January 24th. Neither MSM nor the "top tier" candidates have pounced on it as voodoo economics or what-have-you. But it has caught us off guard too.

The Magus of American Democracy
Published: January 13, 2008
“We have got to face the reality that liberal democracy is the most demanding of all political faiths … That is its price. That is also its glory. For, believe it or not, there are such things in the world as morality, as law, as conscience, as a noble concept of humanity, which, once awake, are stronger than all ideologies.” -Dorothy Thompson - 1934

Ron Paul's Death Rattle
Published: January 3, 2008
On the eve of the Iowa caucus, Fox bans Ron Paul and now ABC considers doing so as well. These noises are the death rattle of a dying establishment. It is morally, spiritually, historically and intellectually bankrupt. It has no defense against the common sense arguments in reason and historical fact that Ron Paul brings to public debate.

Ron Paul's Tea Party
Published: December 11, 2007
One hopes that the symbolism of Tea Party 2007 will be engraved in American history as deeply as the vandalism of the Boston Tea Party of 1773. It would prove that the liberties secured in our Constitution made revolution without war possible.
