About The Column

My column will be old, dusty, cob-webby, yellowed, moth-eaten, dog-eared bits and pieces from the bottom drawer of my file cabinet that are relevant to today's freedom struggle. I've been a libertarian all of my adult life (I'm 61); was a co-founder and an officer of the Ohio Libertarian Party with Kay Harroff and others in 1972; ran against Dan Burton for Congress (Indiana 6th district) in 1986; voted Libertarian in almost all races; and campaigned heavily for Ron Paul.

Another reason for the title, "Bottom Drawer", is that I am  unknown, unpublished, undegreed and uncredentialed. I am far from being "top drawer" as far as pedigree, but I have served in the trenches, am battle-scarred, battle-hardened and still fighting. I believe a purpose is served by those with war experience as well as those with the credentials. The revolution needs us both.

Why don't we fit in? What makes us so different than everyone else?

The early days of the libertarian movement were baby steps compared to the maturity of the current revolution. I was there in 1972 when it all began, and I know that we had to crawl and walk before we could come out running like we did this election.

When campaigning for Dr. Paul we experienced the maddening complacency which sedates people from the pain of what is to come. Our frustration is about to change. We don't realize it yet, but the very economic measures our government is taking, which we loathe, will actually help us in the end.
