Tully's Page a la Nolan
by Tully (Libertarian)
About The Author
I am 48, and a lifelong political 'warrior.' I have "morphed" from a hard core Neo-Con (back in the 1970s) Republican activist, to a State Committeeman in the NYS Conservative Party, and finally to Libertarianism where I have planted my feet since the early 1990s. I currently Chair the Business Department at a Community College, and teach Marketing and Economics. I also chair the New Hampshire Bears, a masculine gay men's fraternal organization. I am divorced with six childen, and am currently partnered to another man.
About The Column
A passion for liberty drives my writing. I am many things: an Economist, a Pragmatic Libertarian, a Christian (of the Anglo-Catholic variety), a dad, a Sagittarian, a Patriot, a Celtophile, a Historian, a Gay man. I hold Liberty to be more precious than either "security" or "equality," and have had it with Republican noses in my bedroom and Democrat hands in my wallet. I plead for Americans to once again reclaim the freedoms they have ceded to the state.

Gay Marriage: Separating the Ecclesiastical from the Civil
Published: July 14, 2008
Many of the arguements for and against gay "marriage" forget the fact that there are two distinct processes ocurring at the same time: the ecclesiastical blessing of the union, and the state's acknowledging the parties intention to engage in a series of hundreds of personal contracts. Restoring the distinction helps to solve much of the controversy.
Remembering Why we Rebelled

On July 4th we celebrate the Continental Congress' unanimous decison to split from Great Britain. It serves us well to look at the reasons for the dissolution...and to look at ourselves 200+ years later. Has the circle turned? Have we become the Evil Empire we rebelled against?
