Jack Galway

The Easter Rising
by Jack Galway (libertarian)

About The Author

I am an Irish-American with a wee speck of Acadian (also a Libertarian people). Furthermore I am a scientist (software engineer) who thirsts for the observable. I have believed in the principles of libertarianism for most of my adult life (I am 65) and I actually discoved them, in a literal sense, 4 years ago.

The most amazing revelation to me since I have become a scholar is the revelation that most of the "greats" who became powerful in government have been traitors to human freedom.

About The Column

An Irish-American talks about the history that underlies Libertarianism -- history ranging from yesterday to the Battle of Kinsale. Frequent references will be made to Burke, Collins, Tone, Paine, Thoreau, Jefferson, Lincoln, Twain, Mencken, Eisenhower, Mises, Rothbard, Reagan, Weigel, O'Roarke, and Balko.

For they're hanging men and women there for the Wearin' o' the Green
Published: March 18, 2008
This song was written deliberately with a jaunty tune and meter so that when sung in Gaelic, the Brit oppressors would not know it as the protest that it was.

Zeitgeist
