About The Author

I am founding this column on the eve of my 32nd birthday. I am male, and unashamedly so. I am who I am and who I am is what I do. I'm a bit old school. I like doing things the hard way. I can wear a suit (while looking fabulous in it) for a walk through the woods. I was raised as a Christian in California, but have spent almost of my life in New Jersey and am not a Christian now, I started out with a mixed bag of conservativism and liberalism. I've wandered my way through many groups and philosophies, from many perspectives and spiritualities. And now I believe all of it, and none of it.

I am now at the point where I feel compelled to share what I have seen and learned and apply it to what has become, in America, a quagmire of groups all professing to have the correct perception of what is good. Some for religion and some for other reasons. I want to promote pure critical thinking, but balance that with the acceptance that we are fallible and human. I'm a hard sell, I'm not buying anyone's crap, but I'll remember where it was if I need it. I believe every thought is correct for certain times, and nothing should be clung to rigidly, nor forever discarded.

It's time to stop commenting on the articles and actually write one.

About The Column

Tao is what is. Tao is what happens and what it happens to. In short all that you know, and the boundaries of what all of us know, and all that is beyond is Tao. And all of it has an influence on everything else. What I am aiming for in this column is to shed as much light on current social and political events as possible to obtain a truly non-biased understanding of where we are and where we are heading. I believe with the fullest knowledge comes the greatest understanding. With understand comes wisdom. And wisdom is what guides us to the best choices. I do this with the understanding that our fullest knowledge can be completely wrong and so our wisest choices could be our most misguided ideas. Welcome to Tao.

Obama Brings Idiocy to the Gas Crisis
Published: June 28, 2008
Obama has proposed a windfall profits tax on oil companies. This could be one of the stupidest solutions for high priced gas that could be thought up.

The Future Our Founding Fathers Did Not Expect- The Second Amendment Part I
Published: February 24, 2008
The Second Amendment is has become one of the most controversial amendments, especially with the seemingly common rash of shootings that have recently occurred. This is my take on this issue. I have divided it into two parts. This first part deals with the actual wording and weapons possession with regard to national liberty and security.

Envisioning an Unsafe Tomorrow -The Second Amendment Part II
Published: February 24, 2008
In this second part, I will concentrate a little more in addressing the issue of guns and safety. As District of Columbia v. Heller comes before the Supreme Court I think this topic is extremly important to consider.

My Child Must be Left Behind!
Published: February 2, 2008
From the perspective of a parent who has a disabled child. I see a fundamental flaw in the No Child Left Behind Act.

Religious Freedom- A Clear Separation Clarified
Published: February 2, 2008
I hear "the Separation Clause" bandied about a lot. But what it is and what it really says are things that most people miss. So I'd like to take you on a journey that will most likely offend you. Are you ready?

Why I cannot Vote for Anyone Else
Published: January 29, 2008
For a while now, people have dismissed Ron Paul. I was told he couldn't win, why vote for him? Because a vote is for your principles, not so you can be on the winning team.
