In the period leading up to the American Revolution, colonists gathered under a great elm tree in Boston to rally together against the tyranny of their mother country. After the passage of the infamous Stamp Act, the Sons of Liberty hung the effigies of two tax collectors from the tree. From that day on the elm was known as the Liberty Tree and served as a meeting place for protests against tyrannical government. This column serves as a symbolic Liberty Tree and calls upon today's Sons of Liberty to rise up as our firebrand progenitors and resist all those who dare to tread on liberty, justice and the rights bestowed upon all men by almighty God.
