From The Flagpole

About The Author
I am a 70 year old Grandfather, and husband of one wife, with whom I\'ve been \'honeymooning\' for 47 years. Born and raised in Arkansas, I\'ve lived in Missouri since 1993. I retired from Verizon in 2002, where I had worked as a Customer Service Representative for eight years. I had a heart attack in January of 2009, and underwent six bypass surgery. I feel I\'ve been given additional time, with which to honor God and this great nation that He ordained and has continued to bless for almost 300 years. I enjoy spending time with my wife, my only daughter and her husband and their three school-age children and attending my church. I try to remain politically aware, vigilant and active and stay well informed of developments that affect the character of our culture. I keep fit by going to the gym five days a week at five o\'clock each morning.
About The Column
Observations about current events, as seen through the eyes of one who has lived long enough to witness major shifts in cultural attitudes and mores. My goal is always to defend traditional Judeo-Christian values which I view as foundational to the success of our Republic. I believe in strict adherance to the Constitution in Governmental policy, and endeavor to promote the cause of conservativism in what I write. I stand for the defense of individual freedoms, States rights, and will defend just causes I feel are being maligned by radical, progressives, who seek to make America over in the image of a post-war European nation. My articles will always have a conservative, patriotic, America first flavor, and may sometimes bite down pretty hard on situations, attitudes and circumstances which I view as contrary to common sense or fairness. I will be writing from the perspective of a 70 year old American, who can see things from a very broad point of reference, having watched America transition through the years from a stature of \"Greatness\", nobility, honor and moral integrity, to a country which now embraces sodomy, pornography, promiscuity, corruption in high places and a great disdain for the traditional values and Christian principles that produced her greatness in the beginning.
Potential Economic Dynamo being Ignored
Published: July 29, 2010
So much patriotic spirit is going to waste, as the best solution to a sagging economy captures little to no interest from tea party groups.
Repubs Rebuffed--Not the Party of NO
Published: March 4, 2010
Pundits on the left and untruthful Democrats have given Republicans a bum rap, calling them 'the party of NO'. Truth is, they had plenty of ideas to bring to the table, but were shut out by Pelosi and the Democrats.
Jobs Creation and the Economy
Published: March 3, 2010
A robust economy in America is virtually impossible under the current tax code. If the congress really want to stimulate the economy and create jobs, they need to adopt the Fair Tax.
