Phil Pepin

Constitutional Activist
by Phil Pepin (libertarian)

About The Author

I'm a small business owner. A former self described "Conservative". After a two year journey to discover the reasons for the rapid erosion of the our once great Constitutional Republic,  I experienced a political transformation. A Constitutional Activist was born. I've been a member of the Republican Party for over 15 years and have been involved in an effort to move the GOP back towards it's roots of limited Constitutional government.

About The Column

This column will be about sharing the things I've learned and what I believe are some of the solutions for restoring America back to a Constitution Republic. I will also be promoting a political philosophy known as Constitutional Activism. Those involved often referred to themselves as constitutionalists. I believe what has been called conservatism is effectively irrelevant because no one really has a definition of what a true conservative is. Modern conservatism has a fatal flaw it's defensive in nature. America is no longer a Constitutional Republic that protects the rights of the individual. America has become a quasi-socialist military empire. The Federal Government regulates virtually every aspect of our lives way beyond the limited power enumerated in the constitution. There really is little to conserve or defend, we need to take back what has been lost. That is the heart of constitutional activism.
