When the Government shuts us up.

This is an article I found about a blogger in England being charged for inciting racial hatred and why our own Constitutional 1st Amendment rights are also in danger.

It has began, the UK govt is charging a blogger for violating a new Government law that stifles free speech. The same laws that this UK citizen is being charged under are either already on the books in the U.S.A or in the process of being put there . How long will it be before our own Government starts arresting us for posting our beliefs? Will even more of our rights be taken away in the move toward "political correctness" and "Big-Brother" telling us what to do and think?

Blogger in UK charged for writing against Islamic Jihad

Just another note , according to their own definition, our own Federal Government is a terrorist.

  • USA PATRIOT Act Terrorism definition: "activities that (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the U.S. or of any state, that (B) appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion, or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping, and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S."

I promise you that they have to coerce me to pay the criminal Income Tax. They have to do the same to the rest of the "civilian population" as defined above as well.

Thank God that section C is put in there, because the White House has clearly violated section B (iii) in Iraq.

We must elect a President who will do everything in his power to protect our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution.

My choice is Congressman Ron Paul (r/tx) www.ronpaul2008.com

Ron Paul will allow the blessed Ku Klux Klan to have thier rallies in peace. We need to turn our back on Isreal and kick out the Mexicans. We need to put those out of this country for supporting the war on Islamic Statism. Ron Paul knows what I knew for years. Just because you were born here does not make you an American. While we are at it, let's get rid of the blacks too.

Limiting ANY speech, whether you approve or not is protected by the first amendment. I am thankful for that, even when I do not agree with speech or the speaker.

Taking away your rights is a simple action.

First, take away the Rights os free speech of the extreme sides, KKK, PETA, ELF etc.

Then, you can move a little more towards the middle, strip clubs, pentecostals, abortion rights groups, MoveOn.org

Then, they come to your home and school and tell you what you can read and cannot.

I am NOT willing to trade liberty for a little security, are you Statist?

Freedom of speech does more to weaken extremists than a powerful government.  When tomfoolery like Nazism is forced to compete with other ideas in the open, it's shown to be bogus.  When a strong state tries to mandate "correct" opinions, it gives legitimacy to unpopular viewpoints by making martyrs out of madmen.  The problem with these censorship regimes is that they have no faith in the essential decency of people.
