Rush is a great spokesman, but sometimes he just doesn't go far enough! by Mark Vogl

I love Rush, have great respect for him in many ways. I think in some ways, he actually is the leader of the Republican Party. I think Rush is a patriot and a man capable of talking to someone who disagrees with him. Unlike other talk show hosts, who call people names should they disagree with them, Rush never does that. And he never hangs up on them either. I listen enough to know, he lets them run out their own rope! LOL.
Rush is great at illuminating what is wrong with President Obama's policies. He does a great job of explaining the new American socialism which will destroy America if we don't reverse course. He is funny, optimistic, and a really talented talk show host. One of the submerged characteristics of Rush is he is not a college graduate. He is extremely well read, and hob nobs with important people who can provide inside insight and information. Rush does not have the arrogance that comes with a diploma. So Rush is someone who has to be taken seriously.
But just today Rush tried to shape, or "spin" why the Republican base is opposed to Mitt Romney. Rush marginalized major issue differences between the base and Romney, and tried to isolate the difference down to national health care. Rush said that the base is rejecting Romney because their primary focus is defeating Obama in November. Rush said the base wants a candidate who they believe can defeat Obama. He was referring to the GOP elite's previous selection of McCain and Bob Dole as examples of sacrificial candidates. Rush is right that Romney is the best chance for an Obama re-election.
Rush's position seems to be focused around the repeal of Obama Care, but not much else.
But my opposition to Romney goes far beyond that, and I believe many in the base hold the same reasons for opposition as I do. So let's look at a segment of the conservative wing that is not guided by Rush in dozens of ways. Of that segment a large group is the social conservatives. We are the ones who oppose "Gay Rights." We are the ones who do believe its a sin, wrong, and should not be sanctioned. Rush won't touch homosexuality, he won't condemn it. That's ok, but for alot of us...homosexuality is a huge issue. The attack on the Catholic Church over distribution of contraception is part of a large social secular ice burg that conservative talk show hosts simply ignore. This is why I say they are PC in their own way. Rick Santorum is anchored in faith, and that's why we are subtley shifting. Santorum seems to understand that the root of our national suffering is caused by our rejection of a Christian God. Santorum sees Satin in the work which is destroying America...and there's the core of what many of us believe.
Santorum says "mainstream American Protestantism is in shambles ... " and he is right! Yes, there are still hard core Protestants like Southern Baptists. But the split offs, the Methodists, the Episcopalians, and others who have accepted homosexuality and a wide variety of other socially liberal things have destroyed the Billy Graham Protestant America.
But, there are other places where Rush is not the conservative, the base is. We are tired of wars. We are tired of the Middle East. We are tired of "leading" a world that ain't following. We want America First. We want oil self- sufficiency. We want everyone to understand that capitalism is only appropriate within the boundaries of the United States! That if folks invest in the third world, and create goods below US costs...than establish tariffs on them to bring those foreign made goods up to US prices. American manufactureres would win and the government treasury might find more money from foreigners.
Rush makes fun of a lack of opportunity to many Americans.
I am sorry Rush, but there is a lack of opportunity. U.S. policy can address this in many ways. One way is "Drill Baby Drill." I know you (Rush) support that. And you have talked about how many tens of thousands of well-paying jobs the Keystone project will bring. But Rush, why not call for American self-sufficiency in oil and energy? Why not call for the 500 billion which annually goes to the Mid-East to go to American wells! Imagine the savings in shipping? Imagine the savings in changing our national security planning so that we no longer take as our responsibility world access to Mid-East oil?
More than that, understand that conservatives do have business failures. And consider that many who are not conservative hear you as a very successful person talking down to people who have not yet made it. And there are peoples, like African Americans who, depending on where they are born, are at a disadvantage from the first day. Is there any belief that a black born in a city, surrounded by drugs and filth have an equal shot to a white or black born to a poor family in a rural area? These people, both groups mentioned here, need a plan. They need to know how they can achieve. Conservatives have to do more than say work hard. Work hard where?
Conservatives must join together to offer an alternative to big government solutions. This needs to shift social needs from government to church! We need to shift these needs from taxes to charity. But this charity needs to be connected to God, and Christ, and living right. These are the answers that many conservatives won’t talk about. But Rick Santorum seems like someone who might!
And Rush, we want someone who will CLOSE THE BORDER WITH MEXICO. Stop the influx of illegals. There is a shooting war on the border, people are dying.
And then there's... and it goes on and on.
Rush you are a great American. But, being one of "base" I can tell you I will vote for Obama if Romney is choice. I will NOT VOTE for the lesser of two evils any more. I know you don't want to hear that. But, I am telling you, I am not voting for another "lesser of two evils" because if Romney wins we just get the same thing Obama would do, but we call it something different, and maybe slower. No, we need a new course. We need to reclaim the foundations of the origins of the nation. We want Sarah!
If you need a conservative talk show host to spearhead these ideas…my number is … and I am a quick learner!
