A Rush fan, I don't listen to Sean Hannity, Glen Beck

Rush Limbaugh set the stage for conservative talk shows, ... but the results aren't very good.

There was a day when I would turn the radio on and listen to Glen Beck, followed by Rush, and then Hannity.  Not anymore.

Rush is a one of a kind.  He has a broad base of knowledge, probably because of his upbringing and the education and profession of his father, and brother.  He has a good personality, can absorb criticism and keep a sense of humor.  In the end, it may be that Rush's heart is in the right place.  He simply likes to help people.  And he knows his history, and has some common sense.  His departure from the New York City area says something about him too.  New York City is the Mecca of American Liberalism.  It's why you always have to question some of the other "conservative" talk show hosts.

Rush applies common sense, and has some grasp of American Conservatism.  And at least up to this point, he seems independent of any financial blackmailing. Rush has only one failing.  Rush doesn't understand or remember how it is to be failing in a competitive society.  The systems of our society, the ones we place our trust in, capitalism, is not concerned with those people and families destroyed by change.  I am not suggesting a compassionate conservatism like George Bush wanted, where the government pays the freight.  But I am talking about a compassionate conservatism that includes Christianity and the new technologies to get people back up on their feet.  And I am talking about a compassionate conservatism that blocks globalism from raping America, from stealilng our jobs, and forcing us to buy foreign goods.  I am talking about looking out for family first, the American family.

I am looking for a conservatism that helps people make the transition. Not through education, but through systemic means controlled by the government.  If we had tariffs we could control competition within the US market.  If we forced regionalization of radio and television we would take steps towards the orignal diversity envisioned by the Founding Fathers while simulaneously creating tens of thousands of jobs.  If we took taxes off of fuels we reduce transportation costs for all goods, and moving people, allowing more money to flow through the economy.  There are steps that could be taken, but Rush, you and the boys won't talk about them.  You won't pioneer...  into the new world.   Rush, you are a great American.  You can't solve everything.  But you talk to alot of people, not just on the radio.  You have influence.  We need conservatism to show that it does care about the people, that it will help people transition.  Not through entitlements, but through helping create a system that employs Americans!

The other talk show hosts, particularly Sean Hannity and Glen Beck are non players when it comes to innovation in conservaitve thought.  And it's so obvious in who owns them, so predictable in their views that there is no longer any point in listening to them.  Hannity has bought into the "lesser than two evils" argument and no matter who the Republicans nominate he will support them.  Hannity appears in Romney corner.  He may endorse someone else, but will quickly waddle over to Romney should Romney get the nomination. And why not?  Romney is from the north east, the same place Hannity is from!  Romney is wealthy, something Hannity wants to be. Sean only seems to care about thing...the defense of Israel as the primary plank of conservatism.  Everything else is negotiable.  But not Israel.

Glen Beck, the same.  Homosexuality is ok.  Illegal immigration … hey well, what are we going to do about it?  Internationalism and globalism are gutting American jobs...but hey capitalism is good right?

I think Rush may sense that the Republicans and even the conservative movement just isn't coming up with the answers!  Whose laying a plan to retake the American market place and close out foreign goods?  Whose coming up with the means to employ the millions who graduate frmo schools every year?  Whose figured out what to do about Obama Care?

America's conservative talk radio is about as useless as the main stream media when it comes to delivering ideas to deal with the real issues we face every day.  Its more like being at a football game, and instead of watching the game, you watch the cheerleaders!  Better legs right?  Nicer smiles!  How bout them uniforms!  Who cares what the score is.  What does it matter which players are the play makers, nope instead we are gonna focus on the ladies jumpin' up and down.

Mike Savage is still himself, and if I could receive the radio signal better, I would listen more. The sun goes down, and we lose him.  Yep, that's how it is in rural America.

It's a real disappointment.  As a democracy America is failing. And a lot of it is the fault of the citizenry.  But some of it is the fault of America's mass media guru's. We get literally no real news about what's going on in the world.  Who knows exactly what's going on in Europe?  Why is the Euro failing?  What are the pros and cons of the Euro Union?  And, what about Japan?  How ‘bout India. or Indonesia?  And Russia, they have been pretty quiet lately, or is just our media isn't telling us anything?

The world has gotten smaller, but they put insulation in so you can't hear the neighbors like you used too!  One morning we are going to wake up and all of a sudden the sky will falling.  We will never know it’s coming.  All this communications technology, all these people on the radio, all these television stations...your abs may be better, or maybe you just got a bargain on buying some trinkets on tv, but you ain’t gonna know til its too late that nuclear war started ten minutes ago!

That's the professionalism of conservative radio...it matches what we get from the major stations each night.  Commercials!
