Rick Santorum Can Win and Start WWIII, Ron Paul Can Win and Save the World

Mitt Romney has no chance of beating Obama, but Rick Santorum and Ron Paul can easily oust him. The question is will Catholics wake up and realize that they've been bamboozled by the Fundamentalist Evangelical Neo-CON War-Mongers?

I am a Ron Paul supporter.  I will be voting for Ron Paul in the NY primary, even though the NYS GOP is nothing but a pitiful corpora-fascist body that is so useless that the only way it could manage to hold any sway in the state was by scheduling the primary for after April First, simply so that it is winner-take-all and us New Yorkers will not have our voices represented at the Republican Convention.

I will be voting Libertarian in the General Election again, as long as the Libertarian Party does not nominate another Bob Barr.  I have always been a registered Republican.  NY is a closed-primary state and the primaries are the only voice we have.  The NYS and local GOP is so bloody inept that the best it can do for any decent Republicans to win election is to stay out and not support anyone.  Barring that, over the past decade when they have backed a Republican, that person has always been a big-spending Party loyalist corpora-fascist who is so bad that the small-government Republican who lost the primary has run Third-Party and that has led to a Democrat takeover throughout the state.  Locally, we finally ousted those Tax-hiking Dems for good this past election – and NOT ONE DIME was contributed by the state GOP or local GOP to help the Republican candidates. So, in a small Township of a few thousand people, the Dems tried to hold onto power after only 4 years of taking control and jacking up our taxes and imposing ridiculous regulations and giving their friends high-paid jobs in newly-created government offices by spending MILLIONS of dollars fighting a handful of absolutely unknown Republicans, labeling them George W. Bush clones.  The Republicans won the election in a total Dem wipeout and a landslide victory based on nothing more than the leap of faith of the voters – nobody knew who any of them were because they had no money to let us know until the week before the election at best.  Finally, our new Town Supervisor is in, and what did he immediately do?  He cut his own salary and the salary of every elected official in office.  He also fired most of the management-level personnel and told them to re-apply for their jobs, and that no government worker under his watch will make more money than the Supervisor!  The old Democrat Supervisor’s buddy was making almost as much as Governor Cuomo to manage an airport.  She can re-apply for her job, at a $50,000 pay-cut!

I live in a part of suburban NY that is still demographically dominated by Irish and Italian Catholics.  Yeah, a very large portion of residents do work on Wall Street, and may seem to any outsider to be a part of the so-called 1%, but that’s just not true.  You see, here we rely on Wall Street for ALL the jobs – from the local bakery, to the Plumber’s Union to, Heaven Forbid, the Teacher’s Unions!  And, to be honest, the property taxes here are higher than 6-month’s salary in many other parts of the country!  Many surrounding areas have been taken over by big-spending Progressives who’ve moved in from NYC, and yes, way too many natives have moved down South due to over-taxation.  But still, good old-fashioned Catholics dominate, even if their voices have been tuned-out over the past two decades.

Prior to Rick Santorum’s win in Iowa (please, let’s face facts people, the actual numbers don’t really matter – Romney fell flat over 2008 and Santorum was the true winner), in the Northeast Mitt Romney was pretty much guaranteed to be the winner by relying on Big-Government GOP establishment votes.  The flip-side of that is, well, just that:  Mitt Romney IS a Big Government Establishment guy, not an attractive message pretty much anywhere.  Plus, there is Romney-Care, and yeah, he’s a Mormon – there are no Mormons up here!   So, Romney was the “default” GOP candidate in the Northeast, not because anyone loved him, but because they assumed he was the only one who could win against Obama.  Now the media is comparing Santorum to Mike Huckabee – an Evangelical Religious Right fluke.  However, Rick Santorum is NO MIKE HUCKABEE!!!  The Huckster never had a snowball’s chance in heck to win ANY constituency in the Northeast – not the GOP establishment, not the gun-toting homeschooling backwoods anti-government conservatives, not the libertarians and no, not even the Pro-Lifers up here.  You see, the Huckster was just that – he was a big-government tax-raiser who put more restraints on Homeschoolers than any other governor, Republican or Democrat, in the nation.  You see, voters in the Northeast may DO really dumb things and always shoot themselves in the feet, but they just aren’t downright dumb.

I have to admit, I am no longer a Roman Catholic.  I am an Orthodox Christian.  But, I come from a STAUNCH CONSERATIVE Traditionalist Catholic family.  The problem is I ended up raised in a post-Vatican II Church that lied to me and told me my Grandparents were wrong.  So I became an Atheist and a socially liberal anti-government Libertarian.  Then I had an experience that led me back to God, and after doing lots of research I realized that my mother’s Orthodox Faith was still professing The Truth.  Thanks to a handful of off-the wall Liberal Progressive professors in college I became a staunch social conservative, but only in my own life.  Legally I am 100% libertarian (bordering on anarchist).  The irony here is that my traditionalist grandparents, while die-hard Republicans, in reality today fit not the GOP, but the Pat Buchanan / Ron Paul form of Conservatism.  That being said, no matter how wrong I know Vatican I and Vatican II was, and how it destroyed not only the Church, but our country as well (pushing Big Government / entanglement of Church and State), I have to admit I have always wished for a Conservative Catholic President.  Yeah, Orthodox would be even better, but give me a break, our government hates Orthodoxy so much it has actually waged illegal wars against us (Bosnia / Kosovo) and prevented the re-building of an Orthodox Church that was destroyed at Ground Zero.

Rick Santorum is poised to do the unthinkable:  Unite Northeastern and Midwestern blue-collar and middle-class Catholics with the Evangelical Right-Wing.  You see, Rick Santorum is a TRUE blue-blooded blue-collar Northeast Catholic.  He actually DOES homeschool his own children!  He actually attends Mass every week, and Latin Rite, no less!  His grandfather actually WAS a real-life coal-miner.  He actually comes from a REAL Steelworker town that’s been decimated by the Dem / GOP “Free Trade” LIE!  Simply put, Rick Santorum IS Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum IS New York, Rick Santorum IS New Jersey, Rick Santorum IS Rhode Island, Rick Santorum IS Maine, Rick Santorum IS Vermont, and yes, Rick Santorum IS NEW HAMPSHIRE!!!

Save for Connecticut and Massachusetts, Rich Santorum’s background is the very same background as the rest of the Northeast.  Yeah, there are a few blue-collar and middle-class Catholics left in Connecticut (I’m willing to bet that my relatives there are 100% behind Santorum at this minute), and, well, maybe there are still a few unfortunate similar souls stranded in the Communist-wealth of Massachusetts as well.  Do not look at the past two decades of voting and just assume the Northeast is solid Blue.  You see, it was originally solid RED!  Especially Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire.  But, the problem is that the GOP changed, not the native Northeasterners.  The vocal residents there now most assuredly are big-spending, big-taxing, big-regulating Progressives, but guess what – they are most assuredly NOT NATIVES!!!  They are TRANSLPLANTS from New York City and Boston!  Now, what really pisses me off about Rick Santorum is that these NATIVE Northeasterners are pro-gun, anti-tax, anti-government Independents and Republicans.  In other-words, these are Ron Paul Republicans!  AKA:  Pat Buchanan Republicans.  Now, this creates a problem for Ron Paul because based on these facts, he is only left with the anti-war voters.  In reality Ron Paul should get all these voters, but let’s face facts:  The media has succeeded in fear-mongering both by slandering Ron Paul as well as by pushing the “Iran is a REAL Threat” agenda.  Thanks a lot, Obama! 

Watch what Santorum does next:  Will he continue the War with Iran at all costs argument and fight Ron Paul on that, or will he ignore Ron Paul and focus on the Northeast Catholic coal-miner’s grandson who wants to cut taxes and bring manufacturing jobs back?  You see, that question is a gamble in New Hampshire – the Northeast is NOT dominated by Evangelical Dispensationalist Dominionist Christian-Zionists.  Sorry, that argument just doesn’t fly here, not with the moderates and not with True Christians who know that line of thinking is PURE HERESY, even according to Vatican II.  So, this is where things get very confusing for me:  Rick Santorum preaches HERESY on the campaign trail and wants to wage war against Middle Eastern CHRISTIAN Arabs, and he supposedly attends Latin Rite Mass?!?!?

So, why do I think Rick Santorum seriously has a chance at being the next President of the USA?  For the very same reason Obama is our current President:  A great personal story.  Nothing more, nothing less.  The TRUTH DOES NOT MATTER, as we saw with Obama.  But the catch is that putting his war-mongering heresy aside, Rick Santorum’s personal story is TRUE, and it is the exact same story as my (both Catholic and Orthodox) grandparents, and how can I vote against that?

Well, no, I cannot vote for a heretic and the entire GOP field, aside from Ron Paul, is nothing but heretics (as is Obama).  Therefore I could never, in a million years vote for a war-mongering fascist.  I say Fascist deliberately.  You see, Santorum’s story about his grandfather becoming a Pennsylvania coal-miner in order to escape Mussolini actually made me cry.  Yes, I actually cried while simultaneously yelling at the TV asking him “WHY, if you know personally how bad Totalitarianism is, if your grandfather came to the United States for TRUE FREEDOM, then why are you pushing Totalitarianism and Imperialistic war on us?!?”  You see, my mother and her parents emigrated here after WWII, AFTER the Bolsheviks stole their land and imprisoned, and tortured and murdered their relatives.  My grandfather insisted they would emigrate to the USA, no matter how long it took, because “America is the Land of the Free!” he told my grandmother.  She wanted to stay in Germany, but he insisted, and they waited, and waited, and some relatives gave up and went to Belgium, England and Australia, but my grandfather insisted that America was the ONLY place with TRUE Freedom.  And finally they were allowed to come here, and they started an “English Club” on the month-long journey over here, and my grandfather even became an “American” Boy Scout troop leader.  Once here they worked crappy jobs and steadily worked their way up, never received ANY government help, my grandfather went around and found our people and raised money until they were able to purchase an old Orthodox Church from a nice Greek Priest whose Parish had grown too big for it.  All along he had three missions:  Destroy Communism and bring The Church and our language back to the Homeland, and Embrace and Spread Freedom to the Old World and BE AMERICAN!  And, just before he died he saw his dream come true and Communism fell.  And he never advocated going to war to make it happen.  No, instead he had books printed over here and had them smuggled into the Soviet Union.  How much of an affect did his peaceful actions have?  I don’t know for sure, except that when he died in 1992 his story was printed in a newspaper over in the then-free Homeland.  Sadly, soon after they voted in a nut-job and he has staked his claim as a Dictator and destroyed our language and culture in its Homeland since then.  The only place my People are free to exist is in the West; the only place we are TRULY FREE (at least for now) is in the United States.

This is what I know about invading sovereign nations who do not attack first:  You make enemies FAST!  I was raised to HATE the “Russians” and (less so) “Poles.”  Why?  Because they took over my grandfather’s country and split it between them.  I’m still pissed about that, but The Vatican was behind the Polish action, so I don’t blame the Poles personally.  As for the “Russians,” we were always waging battles with them throughout history, but the attempt to forcefully cause cultural genocide of my people happened under the Bolsheviks, not individual Orthodox Russians.  Nevertheless, it was really confusing growing up and I wasn’t able to differentiate between ordinary Russians and Communists until very recently.  This is the very reason it is SO EASY for the media and our politicians to “convince” us that we must go to war with Iran and police the world and “spread democracy” through war.  The truth is it doesn’t work.  And, as of yet Iran has NOT attacked us!  And don’t even try to call me pro-Muslim!  Are you kidding me?  The Orthodox have been defending Europe against the Muslim Heresy since the Hordes began.  Constantinople is STILL under Occupation by the Turks.  More Orthodox Christians have been enslaved, raped, murdered and tortured by Muslims than any other single People in the history of the world.  That being said, in modern times, more Christians, in particular Orthodox Christians, have been murdered, raped and exiled directly due to the actions of the United States of America by its Imperialist Obsession.  First the Greeks and Armenians (we deliberately enabled the Turks by defying ALL European nations; Wilson was pro-Turkey and overturned the Treaty of Sevres), and today the Assyrians, Palestinians, Egyptians and other Arabs – they are being murdered and forced from their homelands for no reason other than American Imperialism.  Have the Muslims historically been utterly insane and vicious throughout history in the name of Allah?  Yes.  But even so, at least in the Middle East, the native Christians have NEVER been so viciously attacked as they are being today, in direct retaliation of our actions.  And the most glaring aspect of it all is that the United States has done NOTHING to defend the victims it has created.  Why?  Because the United States Government cares only about Oil and POWER, NOT about “spreading democracy” or upholding the Constitution and defending our borders.  Our government is not protecting us from “Enemies foreign and domestic.”  Rather it is CREATING foreign enemies and domestically our government has become an enemy to our Individual Rights and Liberty via unreasonable search and seizure without a warrant and by suspending Habeas Corpus.  On this account, as shocking as it seems, Obama is MUCH WORSE than Bush!

As far as foreign policy is concerned, Rick Santorum is insane.  That being said, Obama’s foreign policy is EXACTLY THE SAME, so ultimately, when it comes to the two major Parties, Republican and Democrat, unless one nominee is Ron Paul, then foreign policy as an issue is off the table.  Once you take foreign policy off the table, Rick Santorum is just about as perfect a candidate any Party could wish for.  Unlike Obama, he can tell a great story and really reach people on a personal level without a teleprompter.  Santorum doesn’t need sound-bites like “Fired Up!” or “Yes We Can!”  As for his actual record, I haven’t bothered to check it out yet, and it seems Ron Paul’s team is already on it.  But honestly, does it REALLY matter to the masses?  Seriously?  Can ANYONE’s record actually be worse than either Obama’s or Romney’s?  No.  That would most definitely defy the laws of the Universe.  So, the next argument is that he is a Social-Conservative extremist who wants to ban birth control.  As for the Republican primary, that stance works in his favor.  As for the General Election he will run to the center and the GOP will do everything possible not to focus on the social issues, after all, it’s the economy, stupid!  That being said, his comeback at Obama is simple:  OBAMACARE MANDATES THAT EVERY AMERICAN BE FORCED TO PAY FOR RICH LIBERAL HAMPTONITES TO RECEIVE FREE BIRTH CONTROL!  So, you are not against birth control?  That’s great, because you now have to pay for Warren Buffet’s granddaughter’s birth control pills and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!  Oh, Medicare is refusing to pay for your grandmother’s heart medication?  Sorry, Bill Gate’s daughter needs the Morning After Pill and we shifted the Medicare funds into the “free” birth control for all account.

In the real world it is absolutely impossible to convince anyone with even half a brain that Obama and his policies are not the most extreme Fascist policies ever dictated upon our nation.  And that’s taking into account Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, LBJ and Bush. 

In a divided country, Santorum is a uniter.  He unites the supposed 1% to the 99%.  Some extreme Progressives would lump my dad into the supposed 1%.  The reason?  Because his father literally built his “wealth” by digging pile of dirt after pile of dirt and later brick by single brick.  My grandfather was the seventh of eight kids born into a working-class Polish-German Catholic family in NY; his parents died when he was young and he was raised by his older sister.  He worked as a kid to help his sister out, and in the 1920’s he started a business and then went bankrupt; he then supported himself as a golf caddie during the Depression and even started playing pro golf himself.  He married my grandmother and saved enough money and bought some foreclosed homes and gave them away to his sister and other poor relatives, had two kids and WWII broke out, so they moved to Virginia, got a big ole backhoe and some other equipment and dug the roads and foundation for the new Pentagon.  After the war they moved back to NY and settled on Long Island and he continued in heavy construction, digging roads and on the side he built industrial buildings to provide long-term rental income.  Then there was a Polio outbreak and my aunt and grandmother got sick and my grandmother was told she couldn’t have more kids, so she prayed and promised God that she would no longer submit to the sin of pride and she would devote herself to the Church.  She then had two more kids, including my dad, and they later moved out East (then undeveloped) and my grandfather helped build a church near their new home (back then you could snowmobile between my grandparent’s house, my aunt’s house and the Church through the forest).  My grandmother took this to the extreme, thinking anything new or not absolutely essential to life was sinful, including hired help, nice clothes (except for Church) or a new car.  So, they never spent their money on anything except their family and the Church.  Except that my grandfather secretly snuck out and played golf in spiffy golf clothes (knickers, etc) even after my grandmother forbid him from doing so! 

They were traditionalist old Catholic Conservatives – absolutely against any interference by the government in their private lives, including taxation to provide “social programs.”  Back then, that was the sole role of the family and the Church.  Back then the Church actually did take an active role in charity, hospitals and education.  Sadly, today many “Catholics” think the “Christian” thing to do is to protest at abortion clinics (instead of funding and running pro-life hospitals and clinics), and advocating theft via taxation by the government to fund “social welfare” services.  Well, finally, that mindset has come back to bite them as “Universal Healthcare” that the modern post-Vatican II Church so vocally supported  is now forcing Catholic hospitals to provide birth control and perform abortions.  That’s what you get when you advocate that the State spread your personal moral values.  That is why the Separation of Church and State is so crucial to Freedom, because one administration may uphold and impose “Christian” values on everyone, but the next can just turn around and impose Secular Progressive anti-Christian values on everyone, including the Church.  The Roman Catholic Church got exactly what it asked for, and now it and the entire nation is suffering the consequences.  Annoyingly, modern “Conservative Catholics” think the antidote to this is to align with the Evangelical Religious Right and impose a Theocracy in the United States, as if this will somehow erase the bad name given to Catholicism by Left-Wing lunatics like Pelosi, Kerry and the Kennedys who claim to be upholding Pope Leo  XIII’s “Catholic Social Doctrine” and economic “Distributism” with their Fascist Big Government “Social Welfare” programs.  It is high time politicians start upholding the Constitution and Church leaders admit that they are theologians, NOT economists or policy-makers!

WOW!  I started writing this in the middle of the night after the Iowa Caucuses, but I’ve been waiting to hear Bill O’Reilly’s reaction, and he has Santorum on right now.  Why is his take important?  Because, unlike other famous Catholic talking heads such as Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham who have been co-opted by the heretical Evangelical Christian-Zionist War for Israel at all costs spin, O’Reilly does NOT hold that heretical view, as he is of the more traditionalist Baltimore Catechism.  I understand O’Reilly because he sounds a lot like my dad (although my dad always supports any “Independent businessman” running for office, such as Perot or Golisano), and they went to the very same Catholic school with ruler-slapping nuns.  So, I was really curious how he would approach the Santorum surge.  And, it appears O’Reilly is exactly what my mother says he is:  A huge Obama supporter who, no matter how hard he tries to seem “balanced” is nothing but a Big Government Wall Street “moderate.”   He’s obviously in the tank for Mitt Romney / Obama.  I don’t know why I am shocked.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like O’Reilly, I just understand his background.  He HATES Ron Paul, perhaps even more than Sean Hannity does, the difference being that O’Reilly and the GOP establishment such as Krauthammer and Rove blow Paul off as a nut, while Sean Hannity at least takes Paul on and disagrees with his foreign policy upfront while at least defending his economic policies.  After the Santorum interview, there is absolutely no question in my mind that the rich “Moderate Catholic” wing of the GOP is solidly in the Rockefeller Big Government camp for good.  So, that means it is Mitt Romney or Obama against ANY other candidate to uphold the status quo from now on.

Now, I hope Hannity will have Santorum on, because as totally NUTS as the Right-Wing talking heads are on foreign policy, one cannot deny that Hannity, Limbaugh and Ingraham are correct when it comes to economic policy.  So, O’Reilly tried to lay the ban birth control charge on Santorum, and, shockingly, Santorum’s answer was the correct one!  Such laws DO belong to the states, NOT the Federal Government.  And, unlike Obama or Romney who try to make their extremist views sound “moderate,” and are NEVER believable, no matter what they say, Santorum actually seemed honest when he said he would never personally vote to ban birth control (a shock to me, but believable).  Then O’Reilly tried to make Santorum sound like a racist (welcome to the club, Santorum), and here is where Santorum went off the reservation.  Santorum proved his loyalty to Big Government “Catholic Social Doctrine” by pointing out that he was a huge supporter of FEDERAL FUNDING for historically black colleges.  Oh, great!  Another hypocrite:  Claiming to want to get rid of entitlements and cut spending in one breath, and then proving himself to be a special-interest Big Spender.  So, now I don’t see any real difference between Obama, Romney and Santorum at all.  Based on that, I still believe Santorum has the best chance of beating Obama, just because people can actually relate to his story, and neither Obama (now that the country has realized that they were blinded by LIES during the 2008 campaign), nor Mitt Romney has a story that the average American can relate to.  Oh how I hate DUMB Republicans!

Why does Hannity have to be such nice guy?  That is what really annoys me; he’s just an obviously nice guy.  Yeah, he can be a major JERK at times (to Ron Paul, especially in 2007-2008).  Contrast his niceness with Mark Levin, a crass arse.  I might disagree with Levin on a lot of issues, but I do respect that he doesn’t back down.  He would NEVER coddle Mitt Romney or John McCain – he HATES John McCain and listening to Levin was the only respite of reason during the Obama vs. McCain race in 2008.   So, here we go, Hannity trying to “teach” Mitt-McCain to sound “conservative.”  Pu-lease!  This is exactly why Romney has NO CHANCE of beating Obama – the same reason McCain had NO CHANCE – neither one can be trusted AT ALL.  Elections turn on turnout, and Mitt Romney can’t get above 30% of establishment Republican votes in the primary.  I agree with Ron Paul 99% of the time, however, when he says that “Anyone can beat Obama” he is just wrong.  No matter what the media says, I cannot see any way for Mitt Romney to beat Obama, it just can’t happen.  Nobody likes him.

Now, I know that talking about what O’Reilly and Hannity say will make people attack me, but I find watching politics fun, and the talking heads don’t sway me from the truth, no matter what they say.  But, the truth is that the vast majority of Americans ARE swayed by the media, which is why paying attention to it is very important.  Back during the Bush administration, especially during the 2004 election, Bush drove me crazy to listen to, yet it still had some element of interest to it.  Obama, on the other-hand, drives me SO CRAZY; it is literally like listening to the annoying buzzing drone of a construction site the second he opens his mouth.  There is just something about the way he speaks that while I was able to fight the intense desire to turn off the TV for a good long while and just yell at him, I can no longer even do that; I immediately turn the TV off when he speaks.  I have to; otherwise my head hurts as if I am being given a lobotomy without anesthesia.

The primary season has just begun, and no matter how much I want Ron Paul to win, and even though I TRULY believe he is the person who has the BEST chance of anyone to beat Obama (and the new CBS poll proves it: Obama 46% vs. Paul 45%), because Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who can unite true Conservatives, anti-war liberals, the “Tea Party” and Libertarians, I am a realist and I know the media and the Democrat-Republican establishment will never allow him to win the nomination.  Therefore, if beating Obama becomes the only goal, then Santorum is the only candidate who has any chance to do so, since the Progressives are so darn DUMB that they are completely blind to the real world, so they will not even bother to try to stop his nomination.  Sarah Palin, between the time she was chosen as McCain’s running-mate and yesterday, seemed as if she had undergone a lobotomy and listening to her speak became a spine-tingling experience.  That is in contrast to why people like myself actually supported her nomination in the first place – her record and the way she spoke was very small-government and foreign policy was not a part of her record as Governor of Alaska.  Then she was brainwashed by the War-Mongers.  But last night, during the Caucus coverage she went off on the Republican Establishment’s treatment of Ron Paul during Cavuto’s coverage on Fox Business.  She explicitly supported Ron Paul’s economic and domestic policy agenda.  Of course Cavuto tried to stop her by bringing up Iran, and while she stated her disagreement on Paul’s foreign policy, she refused to attack Paul or his supporters, in fact she pointed out that most Republican voters are “war weary,” essentially that Paul supporters are not Left-Wing nuts.  Tonight on Hannity she went on and on, quoting C.S. Lewis; she might not be willing to come out and endorse Santorum yet, but it doesn’t take a genius to read between the lines.  I don’t know anything about Protestants; the area I grew up in was ALL Irish and Italian Catholics by the time I was born, but prior to that the area I grew up in was settled by Protestant New England farmers, and there are still old (historic) Methodist, Episcopalian and Lutheran Churches in my town.  When I was a kid people were still pro-gun, pro-fisherman and anti-regulation, a direct result of the Old New England heritage.  Sadly, those from the NYC area have taken over and guns and fishing have now been banned.  The funny thing is that one of my public high school English teachers was a crazy old Protestant minister (this was before the Federal government banned religious expression in public schools), who dressed like a priest and wore a huge wooden cross around his neck and was always yelling at us kids for being blasphemous (which of course prompted my friend and me to start singing Depeche Mode’s “Blasphemous Rumors” in unison – beyond hilarious I must say).  I had him in ninth grade and the first day of class I asked if we were going to read Dante’s Inferno, as I assumed that in high school we finally got to read “real” literature.  Man, did he go off at me, calling us kids “too stupid” to understand Dante, and that “NO!  We will be reading C.S. Lewis!”  And only C.S. Lewis, from what I remember, but then again I was too busy tormenting him by quizzing him on his knowledge of the Sex Pistols.  He was by far the most hated teacher in the entire school – he was like a character taken right out of The Scarlet Letter or Salem Witch Trials.  I don’t know if he’s still alive, but I do wonder if he’d vote for Catholic Santorum, simply for quoting C.S. Lewis?

As for general appeal, Santorum has the most going for him.  While I disagree with his policies, I’m a realist, and I know that no President will ever just cut spending and taxes and regulation across the board.  Therefore, I actually like his manufacturing jobs plan.  After all, all our politicians do is steal money from individuals and businesses and hand it over to the special-interests who fund their campaigns.  So, his plan to cut taxes across the board and allow multi-national corporations to repatriate their profits back here TAX FREE if they invest those profits in American manufacturing facilities and jobs, does not seem like a bad thing at all.  After all, most of those Big Businesses started as small mom-and-pop businesses in the Northeast and Midwest BEFORE government over-regulation and over-taxation made it impossible for any new small businesses to start up and forced those very businesses to go overseas in order to compete in the global marketplace.  And, unlike most hard-core Libertarians, I do not believe that we can just wave a magic wand and suddenly so-called “Free Trade” (dictated by Big Government and Big Business “agreements”) will become true (and fair) Free Market “Free Trade.”  And, Santorum was right when he argued that instituting an unfair tax system that favors manufacturers will benefit the economy because “Walmart isn’t shipping retail jobs overseas.”  Now, if he would actually get rid of NAFTA and WTO, that would be a giant step in the right direction, but I’m not holding my breath.  Heck, I just want to actually be able to buy a serious pair of winter boots like my old Sorrels; you know, boots that actually keep your feet warm when it’s 50 degrees below zero and last at least 20 years  before needing replacement.  You know, like the ones I still have that were made here or in Canada, before Sorrel, Kamik and Baffin shipped all their manufacturing off to China and shipped back pure crap!  Gosh darn it, I want a pair of real penny loafers and boat shoes made in MAINE the way Dexter and Bass were before Warren Buffet shipped the manufacturing to China and shipped back pure crap!  And, yes I AM willing to pay the price for such quality, but I REFUSE to pay $200-300 for a pair of boots made in China!  OK, I know that I can still get military boots made in the USA (my last pair lasted from 1994-2010 before falling completely apart after wearing every single day), but they’re no good in the snow!  So I settled for European Asolo winter boots for now, made in Romania; super-comfy and good-looking, but NO WAY rated for 100 degrees below zero!  At least my Smart Wool ski / snowboard socks are still made in the USA!

Without a strong manufacturing base that provides decent jobs without forcing people to go into debt in the name of “Higher Education” the Libertarian dream of throwing Big Government Socialism off our backs is nothing but a pipe dream.  Before Big Government over-regulation and over-taxation took hold the need for such an obscenely large “social safety net” of entitlement and welfare programs was a drop in the bucket compared to what it is today.  Back then those who TRULY did need help were easily served by their families and the Church.  Today EVERYONE relies on Big Government entitlements, from Wall Street and bank bailouts to Farm Subsidies to Big Ag, Auto bailouts, Food Stamps and welfare for the poor, Student Loans to college students who don’t even want to go to college but only do so because they “have to” according the twisted view of “Social mobility” foisted upon us by Progressives.  Heck, even the Catholic Church relies on “entitlements” via “Faith-Based” government funding (with strings attached) initiatives; the Catholic Church has directly enabled Liberal-Progressives to increase their stranglehold on society because the Catholic Church keeps closing Catholic Schools down left and right without stop, in the face of massive protests, and then there are no non-public options left so parents are forced to send their kids to schools who teach little kids that sex and abortion are good.  And hospitals?  The Catholic Church hasn’t opened any new hospitals in my lifetime.  If the government didn’t destroy the manufacturing base of the American economy then high school students would have an option to get a decent job with decent pay and not have to go into debt to Big Brother, being brainwashed in the process, while he or she wastes time in an Institute of Higher Education that isn’t even able to “educate” most students anymore because it has to spend its time fighting for government funding and trying to teach these “college” students how to read, write, and do basic math because the primary public school system has given up teaching facts and instead focuses on teaching their social agenda and fighting for Teacher Union contracts that pull our economy further and further down as any income left after paying income taxes ends up going to property taxes to fund public schools. 

So, let companies bring their money back here tax-free, build new manufacturing facilities and create new manufacturing jobs.  Heck, I’d even give tax-breaks if they create vocational schools so kids can learn a useful skill; even using public school funding for vocational training, the way they used to, would be better than having students wither away in the public school classrooms of today learning absolutely NOTHING of use, either a skill or the knowledge necessary to succeed in college.  If we bring back good jobs that don’t require workers to jump through hoops and waste their time going into debt, then those workers won’t need to rely on “entitlements” from the government and tax-payers, colleges will finally be able to get back to focusing on real “higher education” for those who are actually interested in it and prepared for it.  The problem with the USA is we’ve stolen all the BAD European ideas, like the Welfare State and Universal Healthcare, and ignored the one good one:  A Classical Liberal education system that recognizes that not every student either wants to go to college or has the ability to succeed once there, and therefore has a vocational track for such students to make sure they don’t end up unskilled and on welfare.  People always say we need to bring in more foreign engineers and scientists because we don’t produce enough Americans with such skills; so the government keeps funneling more and more money into math and science education.  The problem isn’t a funding problem; the problem is that the government has now forced ALL students to take these classes, even if there is no chance in heck that they can actually pass them, so the teachers dumb the classes down so everyone can “pass” and the few smart kids who actually would have succeeded and gone on to receive advanced degrees in Science, Math and Engineering end up hating math and science because it seems like a joke, or else are just not prepared to succeed once in college.  Ignoring everything else, if this one facet of Santorum’s plan actually goes through, it is the best and ONLY chance we have at EVER getting back to a fair and Free society that in the future will enable the small-government libertarianism of the Republican Party to have any real power and finally in the future actually have a chance at returning our country to First Principles and our elected politicians actually doing the only thing they have the Right to do:  Uphold the Constitution.

Rick Santorum can unite the country because he defends the supposed 99% without demonizing the supposed 1%.  Where I am from, yes there are lots of Wall Street brokers, but the vast majority have parents and grandparents with the same story as Santorum’s grandfather.  My father was a Wall Street broker, but he still is friends with and defends the Irish and Italian and Germans who are skilled members of the Plumber’s Union, Mason’s Union, Electric Union etc.  (Private Unions for SKILLED workers, more like an apprentice system, is worthy and totally NOT the same as Government Unions that waste taxpayer money).  This past Christmas we had a discussion about the crappy construction practices of most contractors nowadays.  The only ones who didn’t destroy my house were the plumbers – the guys my dad grew up with and whose fathers worked with my grandfather.  All my dad’s friends are like that, but the problem is that their kids and grandkids just don’t want to do those jobs today because they’re all college educated.  And that is a serious problem.  Even I begged my parents not to force me to go to University after I decided I hated art school.  What a MAJOR WASTE OF MONEY!  You see, this whole “college is a necessity” didn’t come from nowhere – it came from working-class people who wanted their kids to become Wall Street brokers (and I refused).  So now, like my dad says, he knows some highly skilled contractors and real masons who aren’t just skilled, but true artists, but there are no more native-born Americans to replace them because their own kids won’t even do those jobs, so they hire illegals.  Although he says he knows some LEGAL Mexican masons who do great work.  Listen, the illegal immigrant issue is a serious problem here because our school district is now spending more than $30,000 (not a typo - THIRTY Thousand Dollars) PER STUDENT and the test scores are barely above passing, and that is only because half the students score well above average and the activist parents keep approving the budget to try and bring up the overall scores by approving "special programs" to help the other kids with ESL and other classes.  But now, most “educated” people I know hate their jobs and realize their “Higher Education” was nothing but an expensive waste of time and money.  So, I know lots of college educated people who are now going “backwards” into skilled trades, but sadly, after they blew all that money on a college education only to find out that in the real world the only useful skill is the ability to kiss arse.  At least skilled workers actually have needed skills, and therefore don’t need to kiss anyone’s arse, since if anyone gives them a bad attitude they at least know they never have to see that person again.  College is necessary for Physicists and Doctors and Lawyers, and nutty people like me who would have continued if they hadn’t cut the budget and gotten rid of European Languages in favor of a new football stadium.  Otherwise, it is a total waste of tax-payer money.  “Occupy Wall Street” is wrong for demonizing successful people and businesses; the real problem is not Wall Street, but Washington bailing out Wall Street firms that have failed.  Those firms should have gone under and learned from their mistakes.  Occupy Wall Street is also wrong in its demands that the government provide them with a “free” college education because a vague “college education” is absolutely useless.  And, to be quite honest, the Occupy Wall Street people should just go protest on the doorstep at the heart of the problem:  Their parents’ houses where all this entitlement mentality began in the first place!

As for foreign policy, let’s assume Rick Santorum is elected President.  Apparently the Vatican has just introduced a new more “valid” Mass to replace that hippy-dippy folk-music monstrosity that Vatican II had created (hopefully NPR’s report about it including chest thumping is not true).  Pope Benedict appears to be trying to reign in the liberals who took over the Church post-Vatican II.  Now, Rick Santorum claims to be a be a good Catholic, and if you ever peruse Catholic discussion forums you will find many Catholics lambasting fellow Catholics for asking legitimate questions with the simple response “Well, ordinarily I would agree with that argument, but since the Pope said it I must trust He is correct and not question it because He is Infallible.”  Personally, I do not trust any human who claims to be “Infallible.”  Now, there is a simple Truth that all Catholics and Orthodox believe, and not even Vatican II invalidated it, although Vatican II was deliberately written in such a way that on one page it upheld Catholic Doctrine, yet on the next it seemed to contradict it via liberal political correctness (so Jews and other non-Catholics can now be saved, even if they don’t belong to the Catholic Church because they are just ignorant and don’t know any better, and therefore they actually do (unknowingly) belong to the Catholic Church, so they may be saved, yet the only way they can be guaranteed Salvation is by being baptized in the Catholic Church).  That Truth is that The Church IS Israel, and the modern nation-state of Israel is just a piece of real estate, NOT the “Promised Land” of the Bible.  The Catholic and Orthodox Church believes that the Old (Mosaic) Covenant had already been fulfilled and that the New Covenant replaces the Old Covenant.  In other-words, God gave the Jews the land He promised them, but told them He would take it all away if they broke his Commandments and forsook him, they did so, so they lost their “Promised Land” and God sent his Son, Jesus Christ to save the Jews who had forsaken him and then God destroyed the Temple of the Jews who refused to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, thereby  replacing the Old Covenant (a piece of land with a Temple) with the New Covenant, The Catholic Church.   “Israel” is not a piece of land, it is The Church; it is everywhere baptized Catholic and Orthodox Christians are.   

Dual-Covenant Theology and Dispensationalism believes that the Old Covenant was not fulfilled, that the Church is not Israel, but that the New Covenant was created only for the Gentiles who are simply place-holders until Jesus comes back and the Jews are finally convinced and converted.  Dispensationalists believe the Jews must return to the modern nation-state of Israel and re-build the Temple so the Anti-Christ can reign and the good Jews will convert to Christianity and be “raptured” with the Christians before End Times and all those who don’t convert will be tortured during Armageddon and burn in Hell forever.  This is PURE HERESY according to the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.  In fact this whole concept was invented by some Irish Protestant nut-job named John Darby only about 150 years ago.  It is no more “Christian” than Mormonism is. 

HA!  I originally wrote “Duel-Covenant” instead of Dual-Covenant; how ironically appropriate!  We are about to wage World War III over dueling “Covenant theories.” 

Christian-Zionism under any name is Heretical according to The Church.  The entire aim of such movements is to create World War III so the “Believers” can be “Raptured” BEFORE End Times.  In order to do this these people are using the Jews and the modern nation-state of Israel as war-bait.  These people WANT the Anti-Christ to reign in the Temple.  This entire belief-system is not only Heretic, but the most dangerous thing facing planet Earth today.  In order to “save” themselves these people want to kill everyone else – Christians, Jews, Atheists, Buddhists, Muslims etc.  That is why they advocate war in “defense” of modern Israel and the “Chosen People;” not because they care about the Jews, but because they truly believe that speeding up End Times and the reign of the Anti-Christ is a good thing. 

The Catholic Church does not approve of war in the Middle East; in fact it has come out against it.  So, where do Catholics like Hannity and Santorum get this “We must defend Israel” mindset from?  Ironically, Vatican II and its double-speak.  Vatican II said the Catholic Church will no longer persecute Jews and other non-Christians; some took that to mean that the Old Covenant was reinstated (influenced by Dispensationalists), even though Vatican II explicitly stated that it upheld that the New Covenant supercedes (replaces) the Old.  This politically-correct ambiguity aimed at making liberals and non-Catholics happy combined with a natural affinity between Conservative Catholics and Evangelicals on social issues and family values, and over time some Catholics have bought into this Heresy, and this has allowed an unholy alliance to be created that puts us ALL in danger.

Interesting to note that it seems some Protestant Bibles wrongly translated the Greek, thereby transforming the word “so” (in the same way) into “then” (in the future) and that is how the Christian-Zionists came to believe in a future mass-conversion of the Jews at the end of the world.  This is interesting because a mistranslation of the Greek into Latin is what gave legitimacy to the East-West (Orthodox-Catholic) Schism in 1054; the Filioque Clause of the Nicene Creed gave Dogmatic legitimacy for the split with Rome (although the true reason was over Papal Authority).  General consensus now is that the meaning behind the Latin wasn’t wrong (though some Orthodox today hold to that to prevent unification), just ambiguously worded such that one could erroneously interpret that the Holy Spirit comes from the Son alone (as opposed to FROM God the Father THROUGH the Son).  Sure seems Rome does have a penchant for ambiguity!  Anyway, the mistranslation of one word has managed to change the TRUE Christian idea that the Jews of the Bible (and ever since) are to be saved through belief in Jesus Christ in THIS WORLD, to the crazy idea that the Jews (who must become Christians, because apparently we Gentiles are just place-holders) will suddenly convert to Christianity en-mass at End Times.

Finally, Pope Benedict is tamping down on the Heretics that have taken over the Church since Vatican II.  So far he’s been focused on clearing out Progressive Priests who’ve pushed the pro-gay, pro-abortion agenda in direct defiance of Church teachings.  Now it appears he’s trying to get lapsed Catholics back with the new Mass and “Catholics come home” ads all over TV.  So, what would he do if the next President of the United States is a practicing Catholic advocating war with Iran, directly putting Middle Eastern Christians in danger, all in the name of defending a modern nation-state that he claims is the Israel of the Bible?  Well, Pope Benedict would have NO CHOICE but to PUBLICALLY call out this HERESY once and for all and make it very clear that any Catholic who has been swayed by the Dispensationalist Christian-Zionist Heresy has been unwittingly tricked by Satan and if the spread of such Heretical teachings are not stopped immediately that all Catholic public figures spreading such Heresies will be excommunicated.  He would have no choice.  This is a purely American phenomenon, and if the President of the United States would act in such a way as a Catholic that would mean that he could blind Catholics across the world into believing this Heresy, which would mean he is the False Prophet, which would pretty much guarantee that the Anti-Christ indeed IS the next Pope.  So, unless Pope Benedict himself is the Anti-Christ, he would have no choice but to publically stop Santorum and his Heretical foreign policy views in his tracks.

Since the Iowa Caucus the spin that has been led by the media, both Left and Right has been squarely focused on making sure Romney IS the nominee.   Both Fox News and MSNBC have given Santorum very little specific analysis, except to make him seem like a Right-Wing Social Conservative racist who hates gays.  The problem with this is that it is very difficult to find anything about his seriously dangerous viewpoints, even online, because up until now Santorum has been completely ignored.  So, according to the media, the real battle is between Gingrich and Santorum splitting the anti-Romney vote, and oddly, it is Gingrich at whom Fox News has aimed their fire.  Now, as far as I am concerned, Gingrich does not even exist since his absurd comment that the Palestinians are an “Invented People.”  However, this Friday before the New Hampshire Primary, Neil Cavuto and Karl Rove were attacking Newt Gingrich for stating that Romney CANNOT beat Obama because Obama’s ENTIRE defense against Romney is that it was Romney-Care and Romney’s people that crafted Obama-Care.  This is a fact, yet Fox News is calling Gingrich’s argument wrong and actually defending Romney-Care as ok because it was not a Federal mandate.  That’s all fine and good, except that I have never met ANY Conservative OR Libertarian who would even consider voting for a guy who would MANDATE that Individuals be forced to do or purchase something, even at the local town-level, never-mind the state level.  That is why Romney cannot be trusted, and why Obama will wipe the floor with him.  And it doesn’t take a genius to see what the media is up to either:  The Left wants Romney to win the nomination because it takes Obama-Care off the table (Newt’s argument), and they know he will never foster the grass-roots support of Ron Paul in the General Election, and therefore Obama’s Socialist domestic economic agenda will continue, ending the Constitutional Republic of the United States forever.  The Neo-CONs on the Right don’t care if Romney wins or loses, because they can plainly see, as the ACLU (uggh) has just proven with its scoring of the candidates, that Obama is just as much a Statist Fascist as every Republican candidate EXCEPT RON PAUL, and as we all clearly know, he is just as much of a War-Monger as was George W. Bush.  So, in the eyes of Fox News, Romney the Flip-Flopper with no mind of his own will be easily controlled by the Neo-CON Zionists, and if he loses, who cares, Obama is on exactly the same page on foreign policy and Civil Liberties as the Neo-CONs and they don’t even need to be in his Cabinet to influence him, therefore they can remain the face of the “conservative” media and continue brainwashing Conservative and Republican voters that we are in “danger” from Iran while simultaneously (rightfully) attacking Obama as a Communist, which gives the Neo-CON media cover to make them seem trustworthy to TRUE Conservatives.  In fact, this fact is SO OBVIOUS to anyone (such as myself) who actually pays attention to Neo-CON media on a regular basis, that it almost becomes impossible to argue that they actually want ANY Republican to beat Obama, since keeping ‘Obama the Patriot Act War-Monger’ in the Oval Office for four more years, with the Neo-CONs in power in the supposed “anti-Obama media” actually gives the Neo-CON Zionists MORE POWER over the entire country, thereby guaranteeing that in 2016 the Americans will be nothing more than a bunch of brainwashed SHEEPLE, so sick of Obama’s destruction of what at this moment remains any fragment of a true Free Market Economy, that they will most assuredly vote in a Neo-CON Zionist Extremist in 2016 who (if it hasn’t already happened) will definitely start World War III and, as far as I am concerned, the ABSOLUTE end of the world as we know it, as in END TIMES! 

Just watch: Iran will not be the main enemy by then, but RUSSIA will be, just as it was for John McCain.  To understand why, you have to understand that Orthodox Christianity does NOT want to usher in End Times, and ANYONE who attempts to bring about the re-building of the Temple in Jerusalem and the Reign of the Anti-Christ must be stopped, and that is the ONLY REASON Russia has sided with Iran against the United States.  Russia does not fear Iran because Russia understands that the “Iranians” are actually the descendants of PERSIA, a noble opponent of the Ancient Greeks; NOT all Muslim extremists who want to annihilate the entire world via a nuclear war.  So yes, from a macro-political perspective Russia may appear “aligned” with Iran, but micro-politically Russia is most certainly NOT “pro-Iran” or even remotely “pro-Muslim.”   It is simply a fact of recognizing that we are at a SERIOUS crossroads in history, and the unfortunate ENEMY OF THE WORLD is the American Neo-CON Christian-Zionist movement that wants to bring about the END OF THE WORLD.  Need proof?  Just listen to John McCain and John Hagee – they know the truth, but they LIE to the Evangelical Christian Right by saying that Russia and Iran will align in the Battle of Armageddon to “fight against Christianity.”  The opposite is the TRUTH:  Russia is pre-emptively fighting the Forces of Satan by fighting against the United Nations and the United States to PREVENT the start of World War III, and that necessarily means fighting against sanctions against Iran that WILL de-stabilize that country and enable the Muslim Extremists there to do something stupid than can lead to World War III, and then the Reign of the Anti-Christ and End Times will be unstoppable.  Sadly, in today’s world, Russia is the ONLY country with its head on straight!

Incidentally, Newt was not the first person so off his rocker as to suggest that the Palestinians do not exist.  That distinction actually goes to Rick Santorum, and we have the New York Times, of all media outlets, to thank for covering the story.  Too bad nobody was paying attention back then (or reading the NYT, like ever)!

When I started to write this article, I believed that Santorum was the ONLY Republican who had any chance of beating Obama, OTHER THAN RON PAUL.  As I stated, I would never vote for anyone OTHER than Ron Paul or the Libertarian candidate (or maybe, if the Constitution Party nominates Chuck Baldwin again, and they actually get on the ballot in NY, I could vote for him).  That being said, I live in NY, so my vote doesn’t count because Obama is guaranteed to carry the state.  So, just as in 2008, I find myself asking “But what if I lived in PA or Ohio or Florida?  States where my vote really DOES count?”  Those three swing states are the REASON Obama is the current President!  How would I vote then?  I will admit here and now that when I began to write this I had a gut feeling that I would not have the guts to vote Third-Party in an Obama-Santorum race in that case; I would “cling” to Santorum’s blue-collar immigrant Northeast Catholic background and hope that the Pope himself would set his foreign policy straight.  No, I would never waste my vote on Romney if I lived in a swing-state if it does turn into an Obama-Romney race, since in that case Chuck Baldwin has as good a chance of beating Obama as Romney ever will: as in ZERO! 

Well, I’ve actually been writing this never-ending article since the Iowa Caucus results, and over that time I have come to two conclusions:  First, I still hold to my original premise:  Santorum, if he gets the nomination, WILL BEAT OBAMA, and I believe that even more firmly now because even I was willing to ignore his negatives and focus on his “story.”  His personal background guarantees he is a shoe-in next to Obama in the General Election.  Think Reagan in 1984.  This election the voters truly will be “Clinging to their guns and religion” … AND their pockets books.  Record sales of guns this Christmas prove it (no, I only purchased targets ;)!

The second conclusion I have come to is:  I could NEVER, EVER vote for Rick Santorum, any time, any place, not if my life depended on it.  The more I find out about his beliefs, the more I discover that this HERETICAL Christian-Zionism is so pervasive in the AMERICAN Catholic Church that not even the Pope himself can do anything about it.  After all, O’Reilly himself defended Catholics in favor of birth control, in DIRECT DEFIANCE of the Papacy, and he even defended eating meat on Fridays, a practice I didn’t even find out was permitted until 6 years ago (apparently I was kept in the dark about all things Vatican II by my family, so it was only by Divine Intervention that my Catechism teacher was a Heretic who convinced me not to remain with Rome).  Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally against the GOVERNMENT telling people what they can and cannot do, but I firmly believe that if you are going to publicly claim to be a member of a religion that you must therefore uphold the laws of said religion whenever referencing it, no matter what your own personal views are.  Or else switch to a religion that agrees, like the Unitarian Universalists or Episcopalians.  That is why I agree with Libertarian Atheists more than anyone else (I do NOT agree with the so-called “Freedom FROM Religion” organization):  Our nation was built on Liberty and Freedom for ALL, and therefore the Federal Government CANNOT make laws that defy anyone’s belief-system, whether such beliefs are God-centered or not.  To do so necessarily means that the Government of this HUMAN World then has power over God’s World as well.  God gave Man Free Will:  We each MUST CHOOSE not to sin; a government implementing laws that try to prevent sin is not a government acting on God’s behalf, but on behalf of Satan.  (When it comes to abortion, the Orthodox Church disagrees with me on this.)  This is why I am adamant about the Government not recognizing “Marriage” at all – it is NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION!  If the government must cluster Individuals into “couples” to “protect their Rights” (absurd notion – that is what Contract Law is for), then it should only recognize Civil Unions between any (yes, including Polygamists – Rick Santorum agrees with Ron Paul on this argument!) consenting adult humans (sorry, animals cannot “consent”).  “Marriage” belongs ONLY in the realm of religion (any religion that accepts and performs such ceremonies, not only The Church as specified in the Constitution), NOT the State.  And for the record, Gary Johnson had better remove his bogus theory that “Gay marriage is guaranteed by the Constitution” from his platform, or else I cannot vote for him because he is DEAD WRONG on that!  End the interference and entanglement of the State in ALL religious matters, including marriage, firm and final!

Oh yeah, and Democrats, quit using children as pawns to advance your Progressive agenda.  When I wrote that Santorum and Ron Paul agree on Polygamist marriage, what they agree on is the slippery slope in the “gay marriage” premise.  That is why Ron Paul wants the government out of “marriage” period.  Santorum wants to ban “gay marriage” because he KNOWS it will lead to Polygamist “marriages” recognized by the government.  Personally, I don’t care what the Mormons or Polyamorists or gay people or anyone else does in their private lives, as long as they leave me alone!

Now, as far as the economy goes, it must be said that those attacking Romney for Bain Capital killing jobs is NOT helping their so-called “fiscal conservative” credentials.  Gingrich and Perry in particular are shooting themselves in the feet and will lose any truly Free-Market voters.  Was Romney a job-creating businessman?  Not in the direct sense like someone who starts a small business that grows larger and creates jobs.  But to argue that private equity investors are “job-killers” is a straw man argument that no TRUE believer in Free-Market Capitalism can argue in good conscience.  Let’s be quite honest:  That typewriter company that went under after Bain took it over was going to go out of business NO MATTER WHAT, because NOBODY WAS USING TYPEWRITERS BY THE MID-1990’s!  Was that deal “predatory”?  Well, it may well have been, if Bain simply took it over under the guise of re-structuring its business-model only to not do so (by say, pretending that typewriters were not outdated), let it go into debt so Bain could walk away with millions.  If, on the other hand, Bain DID try to fix the business-model and it still went under after Bain was out of the picture, then Bain was not a “predator.”  I don’t know the details of all Bain’s transactions.  The one thing I do know is that Private Equity is a NECESSARY aspect of Free-Market Capitalism; businesses NEED the money from investors to allow them to grow and create new jobs.  And, the reality of Economics, both Free Market Capitalism and Communist Command and Control economies, is that BAD BUSINESSES WILL ALWAYS FAIL, NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE TRIES TO DO TO SAVE THEM!  So, Progressive anti-Capitalists may whine and complain when typewriter manufacturers go out of business, but they have only THEMSELVES TO BLAME; after all, nobody forced them to give up their typewriters for PC’s, iMacs, iPods, iPads etc.  They could have just kept typing away on those big black boxes, wasting paper every time they mistyped a word.  It’s called Creative Destruction, and that guy whom Progressives LOVE to taut as a “good businessman,” Steve Jobs, was a firm believer and great beneficiary of Free Market Capitalism and its necessary by-product of Creative Destruction.  If Gingrich and Perry keep attacking Romney for his being a private equity investor, they are directly attacking EVERYTHING the Republican Party is supposed to stand for:  Free Market Capitalism.  Who, in their right mind would vote for that?  Unless there is evidence that Bain used tax-payer money to fund their deals, or that Bain lobbied to get special favors in Washington, then Bain is not to be blamed!  Simply put, Romney the INDIVIDUAL candidate has no convictions and therefore cannot be trusted, but Romney the private equity investor is innocent until proven guilty.

The United States is BROKE.  We cannot afford the Liberal-Progressive domestic Entitlement programs nor can we afford the Neo-CON Imperialist War Everywhere and All-the-Time military spending.  Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who knows this and has CONSISTENTLY been de-crying these policies since the 1970’s.  It doesn’t matter if you agree with Ron Paul on all the issues or not.  The only thing you must ask yourself is:  How are we going to pay for it?  And the ONLY ANSWER is:  WE CAN”T!  You may hate Ron Paul, but even if you do, you cannot deny that he has been absolutely consistent on where he stands, and therefore he is the ONLY CANDIDATE WHO CAN BE TRUSTED! 

So, you thought Obama would end the wars.  Did he? 

You thought Bush would reign in spending and cut entitlements.  Did he? 

The same question can be asked and answered about EVERY PRESIDENT in modern history.  So WHY are you taking another CHANCE?  Why are you HOPING that some other candidate will actually do tomorrow what he is saying he’ll do today?

With Ron Paul the voters know exactly what we will get in the next four years:  On the road to economic recovery and true Freedom and Liberty for ALL!

The Republican and Democrat Party Machine HATES Ron Paul because he is a true THREAT TO THEIR POWER!  He is the ONLY candidate whose followers come from both the Republican and Democrat Party, and even more so from true Independents.  Most importantly, especially for the Republican Party, is that he attracts YOUNG PEOPLE to his cause of Liberty.  Some Republicans argue that those Republicans attacking Ron Paul must stop because then his followers will abandon the GOP forever, while other Republicans argue that Ron Paul supporters only support Ron Paul and not the Republican Party, so they don’t need us.  In fact, they are both right.  The truth is, young people are Ron Paul supporters, NOT supporters of what the GOP stands for TODAY.  BUT, they don’t simply support Ron Paul, like a cult.  No, they support his IDEAS of Liberty.  And this is what the “Tea Party” was supposed to be all about and the GOP didn’t ignore them (completely) because they knew it would be the end of the GOP forever.  The same thing goes with Ron Paul voters – it’s not so much about Ron Paul, but ignoring his policy of Freedom and Liberty means YOUNG PEOPLE will NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN.  These young people registered Republican to vote for Ron Paul.  If the GOP is smart it will try to keep these young people in the Party by working towards libertarian goals, or else the GOP will be nothing more than the Grand OLD Party until the seniors start dying off and the GOP officially drops dead!

I remember when Bill Clinton first ran for office.  I was too young to drive, let alone vote, yet I was a fervent supporter and did whatever I could to convince my parents and other adults to vote for him.  Then he instituted “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and I HATED him and ALL politicians.  He, and they, were nothing more than LIARS!  When I got my driver’s license I did register, but as an Independent, although I didn’t vote until I was in college and the President of the College Democrats knocked on my dorm door and registered me to vote.  It was funny; I thought I was already registered, but I had to re-register to vote at school, so I filled out the form and looked for the Libertarian Party line, it wasn’t there, so I wrote in “Libertarian Party.”  Then he yelled at me “No, you just ruined it!  You cannot write in another Party!  You must fill-out a new form.  Just check the Democrat box because Pataki will raise our tuition.”  I freaked!  I said “Hey, it is illegal to tell people what Party to register as.  Are you an idiot?  You think I would vote for a Democrat?  Who cares if Pataki raises our tuition?  The Democrats will raise our taxes so that when we graduate we will not be able to afford to pay back our student loans.  I’m registering as a Republican!”  Then I followed him through all three floors of the dorm building, making sure he didn’t tell anyone to register “Democrat” and informing them that no one can tell them what Party to register as.  I’ve been a registered Republican ever since, although I do vote Third Party when the Republicans nominate a Big Government moron.  So, pissing off young people is NOT a good tactic, as Bill Clinton proved.  BTW:  In 1992 my parents both told me they voted for Clinton, but later confessed that they lied to me to shut me up.  My mom voted for Bush and my dad for Perot.

As for pissing people off, it’s not just young people.  Back in 2007-2008 I was a fervent Ron Paul supporter, to the point that I pissed people off (but I used real arguments, not like the Paulbots who just spam websites with nonsense).  Back then everyone just argued that Paul had no chance and I was wasting my vote.  Then in 2010 during the NY Governor’s race, my mother was so pissed off at the Republicans that she voted LIBERTARIAN and didn’t care about “wasting” her vote!  Today she was all excited that Ron Paul is polling in second in New Hampshire!  And this time around I haven’t been campaigning on Paul’s behalf; no, hatred of Obama and all the other Republicans was enough to make her see the TRUTH this time around.  And she’s 65 years old.

If you want the government to TRULY cut spending and cut taxes, there is only one candidate to vote for:  Ron Paul.

If you truly want to defeat Barack Obama this November, there is only one candidate to vote for:  Ron Paul.
