Iowa, Newt answers question; God will be at the governing table!

Newt says he goes to God in prayer before major decisions, do you?

In a stunning statement, Newt Gingrich answered a question asked here at America Today in an article about him, written on November, 19th, 2011 titled "Newt, will a Christian God be invited to the governing table at your White House?" .  I almost feel like Rush... don't worry Rush, I am just a country boy writing in East Texas.  Hey, by the way, got some of your tea as a Christmas present.  It's ok for Yankees, but if you want real sweet tea come on down here to Rebel Mountain in East Texas, the home of Louie Gohmert!

Newt recently made a statement in which he says that he prays to God before all of his speeches and whenever he must make a major decision.  For me, that's a major revelation since I believe at the core of this election is the question; are we a Christian nation?  Remember President Obama has already stated we are not. He has done that in speeches to the world.  I reject that, pointing to recent demographic reports which say that more than 80% of Americans claim to be Christian.

Of course, Gingrich opponents point to his three marriages, and recent conversion to Catholicism as evidence of uncertainty to Newt's actual depth of faith.  But we know from our own study of the Bible that Jesus himself sat and ate with, and visited with sinners.  When questioned, He said that's who He had come for.  I do not pretend to say that Newt is perfect, or that his avocation of faith is the answers to all his imperfections.  But, what Newt's statement does do is acknowledge that God should be at the governing table, a major statement in the time we live in where the main stream media, our public education system, and political correctness all deny God.

Folks, this is a major step.  Newt is for real as a candidate.  He has a 90% approval rating from the Conservative Union.  As Speaker of the House, Gingrich did force President Clinton to move towards a balanced budget by bringing back the bill time and again after Clinton vetoed it.

All of the issues this nation faces revolve around our faith.  Our very existence as the nation we were created to be, by our Creator, is at stake.  Gingrich deserves consideration because he brings the role of God in the governance of America to the forefront of the campaign.  Will our policy be centered in our Christian beliefs or will it continue down a road of relativism, where anything goes?  For atheists and agnostics, your opposition to this concept is well known.  50 million abortions are the result of your thinking.

While the Bill of Rights protects your right to turn your back on God, it also preserves my right to get down on my knees to Him, to think and act because of Him, to vote the way I think would best serve His purpose and will.  The Bill of Rights did prevent the creation of an official church, but it also preserved the right of man to seek His God and live his faith.  Newt is merely reminding us that God can be invited into the Oval Office.
