Will the South rise again on the grid iron, during bowl season?

You won't see the Rebel battleflag, and there isn't a Blue - Gray Bowl anymore, but Dixie is in for a great bowl season!

There are more than thirty-five bowl games, so I was looking to see if our high school, here in East Texas, the Gilmer Buckeyes made a bowl...not quite, but they would give some of these teams a run for their money!  Still the South, Dixie for the politically incorrect, is looking to a good bowl season!

First, we look at the BCS Championship and what do we find, two SEC Titans, the Crimson Tide of Alabama and the Tigers of L.S.U.  Their first match up this season was a defensive struggle, and I don't really expect anything different, unless the Tide offense rolls!  No matter what happens, the South will once again hold the national championship!  And Dixie deserves it.  If there was a real interest in a fair rating system for the teams, teams in the PAC Ten, Big East, and other northern teams should have to play at least one game against a good SEC, ACC, or Big XII team.  But that ain't happening any time soon.

Then we look at all the other bowls.  Of the 35 bowl games, twenty of them match Southern schools against the rest of the Union!  And there's some good match ups in there.  Arkansas and Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl, Jan. 6th, West Virginia and Clemson in the Orange Bowl on January 4th, and Stanford and Oklahoma State on January 2d all pit real strong Southern teams against the wanna be Yankee teams!  Oh, the Yankees have not risked everything.  None are rated in the top three in the nation right now, so to improve their chances of getting a non-Dixie team in the top ratings the Yankees have reserved the Rose Bowl for two northern teams; Wisconsin and Oregon.  That allows some Yankees living in fantasy land to look at the Rose Bowl as kind of their BCS Championship game!

College football is not beyond scrutiny, as allegations of homosexual sex abuse appear to be as abundant as those against the Catholic Church years ago.  Maybe perversion is more common than we know.  I mean there are the stories concerning Republican Presidential candidate Cain who just withdrew after numerous allegations by women, so sin seems to be prospering everywhere.  But honestly, I was surprised by the stories breaking concerning college sports coaches. Didn't expect those.

But back to football.

There could be some real good games; Penn State - Houston, Michigan State - Georgia, and Baylor - Washington all could be opportunities for the Southern teams to make a name for themselves!  And then there's Florida State against Notre Dame, and California against the Longhorns of Texas.  So for all you working age men who are not working, well, we will have something to keep us occupied in the holiday season.

And don't forget it’s the holiday season.  We are ending the first year of the War for Southern Independence (1861- 1865) Sesquicentennial Remembrance so let me encourage you to consider asking your wife for a book or two on the war which almost put the United States on a very different path.  Maybe get a book that talks about the Confederate Constitution so that you can see secession was about a lot more than slavery.  Under a Confederate Constitution we could not be in the national debt problem we are currently in, Congressmen did not get earmarks, industries could not be bailed out by government, and it's likely Christian holidays would now be national holidays!   While you are at, ask your wife to get you a Confederate battle flag so you can fly it as the north and South battle on the grid iron this bowl season.
