Ron Paul's fifth place finish in Iowa is a call for more action. by sandman

I'll make this short and sweet. There is work to do. It is time to get over the emotional disappointment based on higher expectations in the Iowa caucus . The 20 million dollar fourth quarter has contributed to a false sense of security for the revolution. Let us not lose focus. Take the hit from the negative press to follow - let it inspire you to act. I, myself, have purchased another twenty lawn signs, 500 business cards and a slew of slim jims. My feet hit the ground tomorrow morning. The money does not matter - its value is slipping anyway. This will not be easy but necessary to continue.
I write this because I am disappointed and would love to slip into denial and minor depression - much as the rest of Paul supporters. Maybe this catharsis will inspire action for the reader. The resilience of this movement can overcome all obstacles. Let us not over-analyze Iowa. It just wasn't to be. New Hampshire primaries await. Let's hit the streets running. The breather is over.
The time is now.

I agree we need a call to action. Paul has placed better than the MSM pundits expected in Iowa, a state full of similarly-thinking Evangelicals in love with corn subsidies. The real issue will be New Hampshire and as we get closer to Super Tuesday.
You damn skippy bro. Nobody said a revolution would be easy. Dr. Paul votes on principle in the house, and I can do no less.
As Han Solo said, "Never give me the odds."
More to the point, is their description of this capaign as "quixotic".
To dream ... the impossible dream ... To fight ... the unbeatable foe ... To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ... To run ... where the brave dare not go ... To right ... the unrightable wrong ... To love ... pure and chaste from afar ... To try ... when your arms are too weary ... To reach ... the unreachable star ...
This is my quest, to follow that star ... No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ... To fight for the right, without question or pause ... To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...
And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest, That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm, when I'm laid to my rest ... And the world will be better for this: That one man, scorned and covered with scars, Still strove, with his last ounce of courage, To reach ... the unreachable star!
I gave an oath in the Navy to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, but more important than that, I gave birth to a baby girl that deserves to live in freedom. We gotta crank it up a notch. I'm in.
Ron Paul winning the Independent vote (with 29%) clearly gives support to the notion that he has the biggest tent among the Republican candidates. Rudolph Giuliani got only 1% (and finished dead last in 3 counties). Seems clearly that Ron Paul is the most electable among the Republicans and the only hope for the party in November. The Dems mobilized twice as many people last night as the Republicans did (when it usually should be equal).
Without Paul in November get ready for Prez. Clinton or Obama, because none of the others have mobilized the grassroots as Paul has.
Some other highlights:Â
Ron Paul placed 3rd among those who are feeling the economic pain in this country (those earning less than $50,000). He trailed only Huck and Romney among this group, this in spite of the fact that Dr. Paul spent only 20 days in Iowa compared to 76 days for Romney and 75 days for Huck.
