Support "Occupy Wall Street"

We all know we can talk the talk, but now is the time to walk the walk!

It is finally happening and it is finally garnering national attention. Starting in late September, a group of protestors set up camp at Zuccotti Park in downtown Manhattan where they have vowed they will remain throughout the winter. From there, they will be organizing peaceful protests designed to disrupt business as usual on Wall Street, whom they believe to be the real power in this country.

While their protests have remained peaceful in nature, they are deliberately provoking New York Police by blocking traffic. On Friday, more than 500 protestors were arrested for blocking traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge, which is the main causeway for Wall Street traders to their homes in Brooklyn and Queens.

New protest cells have sprung up in other cities throughout the country including Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Anger at NPR

Much to the dismay of protestors on the ground, the coverage from National Public Radio (NPR) has been spotty and downright disrespectful. They report that the protests are “unfocused”, “too broad”, and “whatever”, but they fail to point out that the main reason why the protests lack a specific goal is because they don’t want to tell their listeners that the message is clear, direct, and simple. Corporations need to stop being treated like people, and we need a Constitutional Amendment to make that happen. We also need to restructure the entire economy of this country in order to ensure economic justice for all its people!

Unfortunately for NPR, their fear of losing funding by the Federal Government and their increasing reliance on corporate donations in order to keep operating has made them soft in their reporting of what’s really going on. In order to keep shows like Sesame Street and Car Talk on the air, they have largely ignored the systematic trampling of personal Freedoms in this country, and are now obliged to marginalize the “Occupy Wall Street” movement.

In other words, if you support the movement, do not expect to find any friends in the media.

Protestors Need Your Help

The protestors in Manhattan and the other cities have vowed to remain in their camps throughout the winter. The hard-core organizers are educated, determined, but unemployed. If you believe in their cause, they need your help. The base camp at Zuccotti Park (aka Liberty Park) boasts a kitchen and a library and they have received celebrity support from Michael Moore and Susan Sarandon, but the group will need food, supplies, and pro bono legal assistance for when they are arrested. If you are one of the millions of unemployed who are fed up with the Corporate Aristocracy, I’m sure you will be welcome to join. If you can’t join the protests but  you live in the New York Metropolitan area, be sure to stop by and give whatever assistance you can.

A Place to Donate

If you can’t join the protests yourself, you can donate needed funds or order food through this website.

The Call for Freedom

We need to be doing everything we can to support those who are willing to put their lives on the line in order to protest what is the greatest threat to our Freedom since the Foundation of our country. Don’t believe anything you read in the popular Media, including my beloved NPR. The Revolution is alive and growing, and the line between the Patriots and the Tories is being drawn.

You can also participate in other “Occupy” movements that are springing up such as Occupy the Fed, which seeks to push the message that we should dismantle the Federal Reserve Bank and its fiat money-creating machine.

The Revolution is young and will fade away without your help and solidarity. We all like to talk a good game when it comes to pointing out the shortcomings of Wall Street, but are you ready to turn all that talk into action?

I was informed that there is an Occupy movement starting in Philadelphia today. I plan to be joining them for at least a day next week.

Other Occupy movements have sprung up in Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, DC and I even heard of one starting up in Memphis! I am shocked and dismayed by the lack of acknowledgement on NolanChart for this!

This is exactly what some of you have been advocating for since the first day I started writing in this forum, and now that it's actually happening, you've decided to sit on your hands and take a "wait and see" attitude? Get off your collective butts and take to the streets, send money or supplies to the front lines, do whatever you can to keep this going and growing until we finally can topple this regime and re-make this nation into one where people can start businesses, create jobs, and one where the most powerful companies don't pull all the strings of Power.

Does it matter that it was started by a bunch of hippie college students in a park in Lower Manhattan? Does it matter that you weren't there to get it moving? Nolan Chart gets hundreds of thousands of hits every month - do you think that not one of these kids have read what you told them and have finally decided to do something about it?

Brian Irving, Joel Hirschorn, Bill Walker, Walt, Jake Towne, Jahfre Fire Eater, and the rest of you who have been so elegant at pointing out the failure of the state, I expect to see all of you on the front lines or at least voicing your support of this movement. Otherwise, all we are are a bunch of old ladies sitting by our laptops and pretending that we give a damn about the future of this country.

THIS IS IT! THE TIME IS NOW! GET YOUR BUTTS MOVING!
