Conservatives have all heard about RomneyCare, and its connections to ObamaCare. Some have even heard that Mitt Romney was invited to the White House to discuss the drafting of ObamaCare. What we haven’t heard though is about Conservative Rick Perry and his less than conservative theory on how we could solve the nation’s healthcare problems. While it is true that he plans to repeal Obama’s Health care bill, his version of national health care is worse. In a speech given in 2001, Rick Perry stated that he would like to have a bi-national health insurance with Mexico. Therefore, while he claims on his website that President Obamas health care bill is unconstitutional, it has to raise concerns for constitutionalist that Perry wants a bi-national health insurance.
State run health care.
State run health care does not work, Medicare and Medicaid are both broken because we allow the federal government to run them. Any time that the federal government gets involved in private matters, it ends badly. How would something work if two federal governments were involved? When it comes to learning from the mistakes of others Americans seem to have hard time. There is an importance to learning from our past mistakes. It is also important to learn from other mistakes, and as the United States considers policies already tried and failed in Europe perhaps we should question the validity of such decisions.
Perry on Health Care
He has come out over the last two years to make some major statements about President Obama’s health care plans. Despite all of these comments though, do we really know where Perry stands on healthcare and what he will do when he is President? Can a leopard really change its spots? Perry was a Democrat when it suited him, he is a Republican now because it suits him, but is he a conservative? Some of his actions seem to indicate that he is not a conservative and the new breed of conservatives will not be happy with having a RINO in the white house, they want a real conservative.
