Perry and Texas, where are they on Arizona's Court fight?

Rick Perry's announcement for his Presidential aspirations are expected this weekend, but where is he on this crucial issue?

Governor Jan Brewer and Arizona are going to the Supreme Court.  The Governor said in a prepared statement;

"For too long the federal government has turned a blind eye as this problem has manifested itself in the form of drop houses in our neighborhoods and crime in our communities," Brewer said in a written statement. "(The law) was Arizona's way of saying that we won't wait patiently for federal action any longer. If the federal government won't enforce its immigration laws, we will."

The Federal government seems dedicated to doing everyone's job but their own.  For centuries education was a state responsibility.  Not anymore.  And also for centuries defense of the nation and border control was a federal responsibility, but not anymore.  Or maybe it is the secret policy of the United States to allow twenty million illegal immigrants to enter the United States through our southern borders?  Looking at 14 trillion dollars in present national debt and Congress just having authorized another 2.5 trillion through to the end of President Obama's first term, much of that money is going for housing, education, health care and incarceration of America's illegal immigrant population.

So you would think illegal immigration and our border control policy would be tops on the Presidential hit list of agenda items.  Not Immigration Reform, code words for amnesty and let things continue as they are, but real enforcement on the border.  And one would think Governor Perry, the most senior of governors, whose state has literally been invaded by Mexican military forces, and where many of the 30,000 border deaths have occurred would be standing tall in the saddle, in front of the state national guard at the border.  But nope, that's not Rick Perry.  And when Arizona took the lead through legislation, did we hear words of support and encouragement from this national leader?  No Governor Perry was silent.  Has Texas adopted a law similar to Arizona?  Nope, didn't do that either.

If you are RINO and not happy with Mitt Romney, well Rick Perry might just be your boy.

Jan Brewer has shown real courage in this issue. Her state, like Texas, New Mexico and California has been the gateway to the United States.  Her constituents along the border have suffered trespass, property damage and violence. She is acting on behalf of her people.  Rick Perry? Nope.

So why is Perry the longest serving governor and why was he re-elected so easily?  Because the liberals run the Democrat Party!  As RINO as Perry is, the legislature is conservative, and Perry is NOT  a forceful leader.  One who can make things happen.  He is more of a steward, someone who gets along.  Considering the mess our nation is in, Perry is not the type leader we need. He doesn't have a vision for America, at least not one he has ever articulated in his own state.  The only issue he every earned a reputation for fighting for was a Jersey Turnpike style Trans Texas Corridor which would open the heartland of America to even faster illegal immigration and the importation of foreign goods.  That one he fought for, though he retreated before the last election because of the strong opposition within the state!

Perry may be a RINO but his political operatives know the value of the image of being conservative in Republican Primary season.  Perry's call for a day of prayer and fasting was a brilliant maneuver.  President Obama has already publicly stated America is no longer a Christian nation.  Many fundamental Christians are upset with much of the social culture of today.  The F.C.C. has completely failed to control foul language and perverse story lines on the air.  Gay rights, including Gay marriage and the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" have demonstrated a rejection of morality and God at the table of governance.  So Perry's action was significant politically, maybe.  Will Christians embrace Perry, or will they ask where have you been?

Unlike Obama, Perry has a long record for voters to consider.  His strengths are that he was surrounded by a conservative legislature in a conservative state.  He did not push for a state income tax and has been able to manage the growing expenditures without adding taxes.  And he has made enemies with the state's teachers because he held the line there.  If Perry is conservative we won't find that out 'til after he is elected, and he surprises us.  My prediction is that Perry would be another Bush Presidency.  While Obama is responsible for today, Bush gave us the yesterday that led to today.  Do we want another one?
