Utah to host first US-China Governors Forum

Tomorrow the annual National Governors Association meeting will be hosted in Salt Lake City, Utah.  However, it is not just our state governors, but the Chinese as well.  It will be the most expansive diplomatic effort between U.S.governors and Chinese officials to date.

The U.S.Governors Forum is an outgrowth of talks between President Barack Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao in January, and its first official meeting is slated to take place at the National Governors Association summer meeting.

The Salt Lake City Tribune reported:

“This is a pioneering undertaking to expand bilateral cooperation,” said Zhou Qiang, party secretary for Hunan Provincein central China. “I believe with the establishment of this forum, there will be more frequent exchanges, closer cooperation and brighter prospects for local governments of our two countries.”

Zhou and Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire signed an accord Saturday that formalized the relationship, which seeks to foster face-to-face discussions between governors and Chinese provincial party leaders about trade and educational exchanges.

Utah Gov. Gary Herbert said the forum will help the two countries understand each other better, and it makes good business sense. “On a practical side, it is going to help us economically,” he said, calling it “really good for the creation of jobs.”

I take issue with this on a couple of different levels.  First of all, our economy is not going to grow by bringing Chinese jobs through our Free Trade Zones.  Secondly, we’re all very hard pressed to find anything in this country to buy that isn’t already made in China, so they certainly don’t need anymore of our help in stimulating their economy. A last but not least America needs to have products to export to stimulate our economy.

Frankly, I’m so sick of trading with the Chinese that I have completely boycotted Wal-mart, if I can’t find what I want made in America I go to auctions, garage sales and second hand stores.  I will not support an economy of slave labor at the expense of American jobs!  Simply, the kind of girl I am!  If I have to buy Chinese, then by God I am buying it second hand.  I will not give my hard earned money to a country that supports horrible working conditions, has sweat factories filled with children and a country that take tanks into their streets to murder protesters!

I am tired of all the news of NATO troops and foreign companies occupying our country.  I’m tired of the rhetoric about global cooperation, global currencies, global trading, because it’s all being done at the expense of our children and grandchildren.

The Chinese are already buying up crops on contract, buying up land and negotiating in Idaho to purchase their power company.  I find it all rather unsettling! I’m glad I don’t live in Idaho or Utah for that matter!

When is enough, enough?  When do we stand up and not just say, “No!”, but “Oh hell NO!”  Who are the watchmen?  Where is our common sense?  When we going to stop selling ourselves like prostitutes for the next turn of a fiat currency that is worthless?  People, wake up!  This invasion may seem very benign at the moment, but I think we will probably live long enough to find out that it is smoke and mirrors to hide the globalist agenda being perpetrated on us.

Now our Governors are wining and dining with the Communists!  Now they’re waiting for an opportunity to sell us out for the turn of a few bucks, fancy promises of economic development and trade partnerships.
