Why haven't GOP called for repeal of Obama Care as part of debt ceiling deal?
By making such a big deal about the debt ceiling, the national leaders have proven we can't afford Obama Care...so why aren't we repealing it? by Mark Vogl

The very fact that President Obama, and the House and Senate leadership are meeting about lifting the US debt ceiling proves that we are spending more than we are taking in. And the fact that few Americans look forward to tax increases should lay the political foundation for the repeal of Obama's national health care. So why aren’t the Republicans demanding the repeal?
I am really confused.
Why aren't Limbaugh and Hannity and Savage, and Beck and all the rest of the conservative talk show hosts calling on the GOP leadership to make repeal of Obama care one of the absolute qualifications for passing an increase of the debt ceiling? Why aren't they? And more, why are all of them silent on the issue.
I called one of the talk shows and actually got through. When I got through the screener asked me what I wanted to talk about. I said I wanted to ask if there was a huddle between the conservative talkers...I mean they do exactly the same thing the mainstream media does. They all talk about the same things, they all talk about the same things the same way. Not one individual thought. Sorry Mike, but I have not heard you call for the repeal of Obama Care as a part of the debt ceiling compromise.
Hurrah for Senator McConnell's statement on the Senate floor which stated that as long as Obama is president, there can be no long term solution to the deficit problem we face. Limbaugh reported this.
I also want to know why the conservative talk show hosts have not had the GOP Presidential candidates on the air talking about their views of America, and their views of how this debt ceiling question should be dealt with. This is the time. This is an opportunity for Republican leadership to go on record, to say what they want. To give the American people a real choice. Are we for Obama's socialism and new taxes, and new debt? Or are we for reversing course? Are we for repealing Obama Care, and slashing government? We are at the point and place where we can actually change America's direction. We can say no. We can stand with the House Republicans and simply say no to raising the debt ceiling. We can do it.
Of course there will be ramifications. The economy will react. But how it will react is uncertain. If we as a nation say no to more taxes and more debt, will the economy collapse or will it finally see a light at the end of the tunnel? Will investors shriek in fear, or will they cheer?
America's problems are not just fiscal; they are not just about raising taxes, or printing more money. Our problems stretch across the globe and rest deep in the heart of our moral center. Defeating Obama's program of New Socialism will not fix everything. But it will be a step.
Do the Republicans have the courage to stand against taxes, to insist on repeal of Obama Care, to insist on the elimination of the Department of Education, to simply reduce the government to its present revenues?
We need more than a fiscal fix, but it is the fiscal question which is in play right now. Once the Republicans hold on the debt ceiling, than the question of direction, and a call to our Christian foundation and reimplementation of Christian morality can be debated, and if successful in November 2012, we can begin to rebuild America.

Mark,
I completely agree with the sentiment of this article (hoorah, we agree on something!), and your comparison of the conservative talking heads to the mainstream media (no real difference there except the side they are on). You also make a great point about these guys NOT inviting the GOP "hopefuls" on the air to discuss their views and the issues at hand. Brilliant observation on your part and a brilliant question to them. Why? Why are they not taking advantage of this time prior to the election in 2012 to really dig in and find out what these potential candidates have on their minds? The only person I have really heard from on the air is Michele Bachmann, and that is mostly because she is pushing herself right now very hard, to become known in the minds of American voters.
The answer to the question as to why the Republicans are not slashing and burning, repealing, etc., like they promised they would is simple. They are politicians. Don't you know the way this works yet? You seem fairly savvy at the politic game. Why is this one hard for you to grasp? Do you really believe that these guys are concerned with America...really concerned? Their number one concern is now, and always, their own butts and staying in office. Do you really not see that? I admire your belief in the system and belief that these people really DO have America as their number one priority. I think it is naive, however.
