New York 26 may be an important test for Presidential election in 2012. by Mark Vogl

The special election in New York's 26th Congressional District is being reported as a voter rejection of the Paul Ryan budget plan which would place deficit reduction at the top of the priority list. But the real impact and import of New York's 26th election might just be the test and confirmation of the impact of a significant third party candidate on election results.
When one looks at the results, the truth comes clear: Democrat K. Hochel got 47% of the vote; Republican J. Corwin got 43% of the vote, and former Democrat, millionaire Jack Davis got 9% of the vote as a Tea Party candidate. Like Ross Perot, Davis' role in the election was to syphon off enough traditional conservative or Republican votes to allow the Democrat to win with less than 50% of the vote. . And it worked. Democrats saw their candidate in 2006 and 2008 get into the mid 40's in a two man race. So they knew if they could split the Republican vote, they could win. Enter former Democrat Jack Davis to enter the race as a populist Tea Party candidate.
This tactic is a proven Democratic election tool. Bill Clinton, never got 50% of the vote in his two successful runs for President. In both cases he got mid 40's. But a third party candidate was able to get enough of the anti-Clinton vote to prevent the Republican from winning.
New York was the perfect political theatre to test the Obama 2012 strategy and game plan. New York doesn't really have an organized conservative party, or movement. Republican in Name Only RINO, was invented in the American northeast. New York is a blue state, a very blue state, where Progressives run both the Republican and Democratic Party. To reduce the power of conservatives even further, a Conservative party exists in New York. This party exists to syphon "conservatives" from the Republican Party, while simultaneously corrupting "conservative" voters by including them in post-election patronage decisions. There is no real spokesperson for the conservative movement in New York.
Further, most elections in New York are controlled by the party leaders. There are a multitude of third parties including the Conservative party, the Green Party, the independence party, the Working Families Party (unions), the Liberal Party, and others. Party leaders control much of what goes on in New York elections by controlling the Lines on the ballot...who is listed on what and how many lines.
And President Obama and his election team know he is in deep trouble. The American ecnomy is not turning around.
But President Obama, his team, and the Democrats are really very good players at the game of American elections. The election in New York was a rehearsal for 2012.
But there's more to Obama as a politician. Some might thibk the president made a major faux pas when he made his speech about Israel's 1967 borders just before Israel's Prime Minister came to the United States. But, I see a different view.
Americans are growing really tired of our involvement in the Middle East. The "terrorist threat" which forced America and Americans to make so many changes and sacrifices, has been all but non-existent since September 11th. There have been no further attacks against the United States, despite the fact that America's southern border is all but unguarded. There are 1 billion Moslems around the world, there is huge wealth in the oil rich Arab world, and there are enemies to America all over the planet. And still, no attacks. Oh there have been a few instances where a handful of terrorist wanna-be's have been arrested, but the bottom line is, there have been no serious threats to the United States. Hundreds of millions of American flyers have stood in endless lines, been stripped of their shoes, belts, and who knows what else, and been searched bodily by strangers...but still no attacks.
America’s most serious problems are not with Moslem terrorists, or other enemies of Israel. America's most serious threats are occurring right here in America, whether it be a lame non-performing economy, run-away government spending, expanding federal government, or a lack of American values.
Obama's seeming attack on Israel, and then his rapid departure overseas provided the perfect opportunity for Republicans and Democrats to pledge their undying allegiance to Israel. Conservative radio talk show hosts could talk of nothing else. Through his clever comments, President Obama was able to recommit the United States to a continued commitment to Israel. America won't leave Iraq or Afghanistan. A bankrupted US will continue to spend billions defending the interests of Israel, not America. And domestically, Jewish money and political muscle will continue to flow to the left and Obama.
Meanwhile, the main stream media continues to hammer announced Republican candidates, while planting the seed that the Republicans simply don't have a candidate up to the challenge of defeating Obama.
The real enigma here is that President Obama and his entire party doesn't seem to understand that it is their own policies which are destroying the American economy. While they have played brilliant political chess this week, the economy is going to be the issue which decides the election. And there the Democrats refuse to understand economics 101. Because they have built their power base on government largesse, and unions, two of the greatest obstacles to economic growth, their political fortune will be in question right to the end.
Will Americans learn the political game in time to salvage their naiton? That's the question.

Mark, The difference between search and rescue of someone overboard in mid-atlantic and a recovery mission is denial. It is no longer how to save our country as constituted. Is there any hope of getting back what is now ancient history? If you think that these people don't know exactly what they are doing and that they, as we speak are not simply applying the icing, well there you go. Wasn't there a Frenchman that wrote something about this?
We have lost focus on what this country is all about, Individual liberty on every level from your home to the neighborhood, all the way to Washington. We've sold out our freedom for what we perceive as individual security and protections and we have ended up with nothing, we are neither free nor secure.
