America could still be great, with an American leader

The dream could still live, prosperiety could return, a bright new future is possible, but two things are missing.

This is the era of "we are not yet."

America is not yet in a depression.

America is not yet in civil war.

America is not yet socialist.

America is not yet beyond redemption and rebuilding.

But the clock is running.

America faces a cross roads, as we have many times before.  The issue of the debt ceiling could be the place where we change directions, return to God and our earlier values, and begin creating the new America. Recent polls indicate 70% of all Republicans don't want the government to raise the debt ceiling.  The House of Representatives is the political center of gravity of this action.  The White House, the ruling elite, and the mainstream media will begin to raise the alarm that if we don't raise the debt ceiling the economy will collapse. Meanwhile, behind the scenes political operatives will work to find the "dirt" on enough Republicans in the House to pass the debt ceiling.  So the race is on.

But, while we wait for the immediate issues to be resolved, and while President Obama, the Democrats and the ruling elite are distracted by the debt ceiling issue, it’s time for us coalesce around a dream.  The dream, or objective, should be the reconstitution of the United States of America as a nation blessed by God and seeking His guidance.   Oh yes, we did that before.  We did in the Declaration of Independence where we cited the rights given to us by our Creator.  Those rights were political, not material or economic. God did not give us a right to education or health care.  But instead we sought God to bless us individually, as states, and as a nation.  When the South separated from the Union and created a new Constitution it specifically called on God for wisdom and protection in the Preamble.  The South saw the direction the union was headed in, human secularism, and rejected it.  It was one of many reforms the Southerners included in their new government which are applicable to today.

We can rebuild our America, but it must begin with a return to our Judeo-Christian roots.  We must agree as a society and citizenry in the Bible as the source of right and wrong.  We must include God at the table of national spirit and governance.

Diversity, in Judeo - Christianity is both practical and necessary. Diversity which includes the religions of the world and human secularism and atheism is nothing more than chaos.  Diversity of color and culture can be strengthening, as long as all assimilate into an American nation based on the fundamentals of the Bible, the Constitution and Adam Smith and capitalism.  But, when diversity embraces cultures or philosophies which reject the fundamentals, discord and confusion result.  So, the first step to rebuilding America is a recommitment to the original values which founded the nation.

The second step towards rebuilding our nation is to shed our global view and refocus on making America self-sufficient.  It is the goal of self-sufficiency which will put Americans back to work, which will bring prosperity to the widest group of Americans, and recreate a balance to our society.  We don’t need all of our children going to college. In fact, we don't need 50% of our children going to college!  What we do need are American craftsman.  What we do need are American inventors and businessmen.  Retaking the American marketplace by Americans, funded by Americans, boarded and led by Americans who understand the patriotic necessity of American business culture.  International corporations need to be discarded, sold off.

Work and savings need to replace credit and productivity as American business philosophies. And God needs to be here too.  We need to replace our faith in American industry with a faith in God. And our laws need to mirror this faith. A critical factor in rebuilding America is Traditional Family values.  The traditional family unit, the role of the mother, these concepts needs to be reborn, re-energized.

The South of the 19th century, (known as Dixie) saw all these traditions and values best preserved in an agricultural nation, one where cities played a secondary role.  The cosmopolitan life provides a fertile ground for social experimentation and eventual perversion.  Our society is too populated, too dependent on some aspects of the city. At least today. But the communications technologies lessen the dependence on geographic proximity as a factor in organizing and running a business.  Large cities like Detroit are dying on their own.  Still, we must insure that the great American farm and pasture land are protected and preserved. Self-sufficiency in food is of paramount importance,

The answers are there. They have been there for half a century. More important, at the end of the Cold War a quarter of a century ago, we had an opportunity to address ourselves, to fix our problems. We didn't.  We vacationed as a nation, and than reacted to a terrorist attack which did little hurt to the United States but provided an opportunity for the ruling elite to set the agenda and redeisgn our nation.  It's time to stop, to assess, and to change direction, back to God and the nation we could have.   Once we make that decision to go back to the God which gave us not only the land and resources, but the leaders and philosophies which made America, we need a leader.

Sarah Palin is, in my view, that leader.  This leader must have spirit, courage, common sense, and a faith in God.  The leader must be more interested in America and her people, then the world.  Our leader must determined and able to lead.  I believe Sarah Palin is that leader.

People like you still think that god created man when if fact is the other way around: Man created god. If you want to lead your life by your fictional character named god, fine. You could select to believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny and that would be ok too. So long as you leave those of us who don't believe in fairy tales alone and not force us into any of your fictional beliefs...or else I will ge the wrath of Zeus upon you...

Hi trd.

Mr. Vogl and I rarely see eye to eye, even though I do agree with quite a lot of what he has to say on several issues. That being said, I feel the need to challenge some of what you said in your post; such as, you claim the "fact" that man created God. Where is your empirical proof? Where is your evidence? Should people believe YOU just because you say something is a fact? Can you substantiate that there is no creator? My guess is, no, although it is purely a guess of course (not claiming it to be a fact without knowing for SURE that you cannot substantiate it). Oh and don't say "well where is YOUR proof and evidence," because that would point the finger back at me (or Mr. Vogl, in this case) and you are the one who claimed the non-existence of God as fact.

Also, how exactly is Mr. Vogl "forcing" you into his fictional beliefs?? Of course, your threat of "ge" the wrath of Zeus upon him was meant to be a joke (very clever, although not sure what "ge" means) but I hear quite often that people who believe in God or practice some sort of organized religion are "forcing" their beliefs on others; and yet, I see no evidence of this either (by Christians). Some Muslims, yes, but no Christians to my knowledge. Can you give some examples of how he or some other Christian is forcing his beliefs on you? Just curious.
