There are some sound reasons for considering a vote for Donald Trump for the US presidency, though taking him seriously is challenging. by Joel S. Hirschhorn

How could a sane, intelligent and political savvy person contemplate voting for Donald Trump for president of the US? I have my reasons and perhaps they will resonate with you.
To begin with, surely everyone knows that every politician lies, especially members of Congress and the president of the US. They may lie about different things and in different ways, but lie is what they do all the time, even about the most important matters.
Trump is a master liar, about all things, small and big. It is clearly in his DNA, something he does automatically and loudly, boastfully, proudly. It is key to his narcissistic personality. Politicians hide their lies behind all kinds of semantic games as if they are above lying, as if we should see them as being honest. Trump, if nothing else, is a more entertaining liar than all the regular politicians, both Democrats and Republicans. Somehow we like Trump because he is such a bold, consistent and self-serving liar. It is as if we have all seen his big wink, and we are playing with him while he stays in character.
So that is the first reason for voting for Trump to be president. If we are going to have a liar in the White House, why not a fresh, more professional liar who plays dishonesty according to his own rules? Like most Americans I am sick of all the normal politicians that have ruined our country and deserve no more trust, nor any forgiveness. They deserve to be crapped on, with no better way than electing an outsider like Trump. Vote for Trump because it would send a message to all the regular, rotten politicians that we have had enough of them. Of course Trump says some of the most ridiculous things, but the point is that we know that. We have so few lofty expectations of Trump, which means we wont easily be fooled or deceived by him.
Excuse me. Excuse me, and then Trump continues with his ludicrous statements when he is interviewed by media stars. What a pleasure to watch Trump stomp on every media interviewer. He says whatever he wants to say and never lets a potentially lie-revealing question get in the way. His style is magnificent. He rises above all the media interviewers attempting to bring him down. Excuse me, but every interview he does just accomplishes what he wants, more name recognition. And his behavior satisfies our desires to get even with the media for not doing a very good job of going after all the normal political liars.
No bigger insanity about Trump exists than all the talk and uncertainty about his wealth. What has become clear is that many of the things which carry his name are not actually owned by him. Of course in Trump-logic making money from a license deal is just like actually owning the thing, so he really is not lying (wink, wink).
Trump has been selling the use of his name for a long time through license deals, which makes his wealth uncertain. It also helps explain almost everything about his behavior, including his talk about running for president. To make all that money from selling his name he must keep his name valuable and that requires endless obnoxious behavior that keeps the media spending so much time on him. Trump likes to talk about his genius, but mostly that means his talent (big mouth) for getting attention and then turning that around into money-making opportunities.
Maybe what he has done to elevate his name he might do to reinvigorate the stature of the US. Just maybe Trump is exactly what the US needs to regain its place in the world, a truly outrageous salesman with the guts to go up against all our enemies and put our financial house in order. Excuse me, but I think that is why so many Americans like his talk about becoming president.
I can just imagine President Trump finding a way to put up a large neon sign on top of his new home: TRUMP WHITE HOUSE.
Trump does not see gray, just black and white. No Obama nuances and deep thinking and analysis for Trump. He knows right from wrong and does not waste time dealing with facts, subtleties or historic obstacles to achieving what needs to happen to restore Americas greatness. He really could kick Chinas ass. He is not blinded by his own arrogance.
So, excuse me, but if Trump finds a way to get on the ballot either as a Republican or Independent, considering the widespread stupidity and frustration of the public, then he just might win the presidency. In so many ways, the country deserves Donald Trump. All I ask if he wins is that he finds a better solution for his baldness than the ridiculous comb-over he is known for. On the other hand, maybe that comb-over is his badge of contempt for all others and should stay.
I cant wait to hear him speculate on who might be his vice-president running mate. Can you?
