It's Never too Late to Change

Why would you think I need a New Year's resolution?

It's never too late to change. I hear people say this, especially around the New Year, thinking they are encouraging stubborn old men, like myself, to improve themselves. They tell me to eat less, drink less, exercise more, be more considerate of others, spend less than I earn, and on and on.

It doesn't help to have examples like Ron Paul shoved in my face. The man is at least 20 years older than I am and obviously eats less and exercises more than I do. To hear him talk it's clear he spends a lot of time studying the Constitution, Economics, and our monetary system. He's been married 50 years, has 17 grandchildren, and is probably helpful around the house.

As if his personal example was not enough, now he wants to tell the whole country that it is not too late to change. Not too late to stop meddling in our neighbors' business, not too late to spend less than we earn and pay down our debt, not too late to attend to the waste, fraud, and abuse in our health care system, and not to late to stave off corporatism in our government.

Nobody wants to hear this. Fox News is fiinally stepping up and stopping this shining example from illuminating our flaws. The sooner this man is off  the TV the sooner we can get back to spending our great-grand-children's taxes like drunken sailors and then belligerently demanding respect from a world that has come to resent us.

Wonderful. As your grandchild, I thank you for at least having fun while you spend my money.  Nice piece.

You don't sound like no libertarian to me.
