We, the US, are broke!
That's not the GOP, that's what Secretary of the Treasury, an Obama appointee, told the US Senate Committee about the Obama budget proposal, and he further said they don't have a clue how to fix it!
It's amazing. But under questioning, Secretary Gitner admitted the budget submitted by the President won't work. He told Senator Jeff Sessions, "I agree with you..." this budget won't work, and then asked for an alternative. The people elected to lead have folded. They led the fight to add trillions in future spending with national health care, but now say they don't know how to fix the budget problems we have. Democrats play politics instead of leading as you elected them to do!
Obama is the President. He is supposed to be the leader. He didn't ask for the Republicans to offer an alternative to Obama Health Care! He just shoved that big expensive, unpaid for legislation right down our throat. Is it the Democrats policy that they wish to demonstrate our nation's bankruptcy so that chaos is created? Did we elect the last President of the United States? Is this their plan?
In Wisconsin where the state is facing huge budget gaps, a Republican governor and his Senate majority are stymied in their efforts to make long term changes by the Democrats who left the state to block a vote because the Senate could not get a quorum. So they create the problem through their policies and spending, and then run away when it comes to fix it. Democrat strategy for budget woes, run away!
America you elected them. You put them in office. Yes you did. You either voted for them, or you sat on your butt at home and didn't vote. So you did it.
Folks, we are talking trillions of dollars. This is not a short term problem. Our budgets have been financed by the federal credit card more and more. The Communist Chinese are carrying the notes. Democrats refuse cuts, and instead offer new huge spending proposals like national health care! But to straighten out what is already broke would require large cuts.
Increased taxes are off the table. The economy is too fragile. Tax increases could mean the next depression. The only real alternative is cuts. Or, if state and federal workers were smart they would be offering reductions in their pay and benefits in order to keep their jobs...instead look to Madison, Wisconsin where the teachers just called in sick, shut down the schools and went to protest.
The liberal plan for our economy, one built on government spending, a huge college - university infra-structure, social security financed drug abuse counseling and unemployment has eaten up all America's wealth. The middle class hunger for illegal drugs is destroying our nation!
Government employees earn more than private sector people and have been protected from lay off during this recession.
Government and Greenies have blocked new energy resource exploration and development. Did you know that we have 300 years of energy reserves right here in the good old USA, but the government has blocked its development! Do you like paying three dollars plus for foriegn oil?
Obama offered a ridiculous budget in order to force the Republicans to address the problem...which they can't, holding only a majority in one house. The Democrats own the White House and Senate and in the end, they are in control. They offered a criminal budget, and now look to the Republicans to fix it.
Part of that fix may be happening in the House, where the Republican majority is working on cutting 60 billion from this year's budget.
Its time for America, as a nation, to buy macaroni and cheese and second hand cars. It’s time for America to hand down cloths from one child to the next. It’s time to cut coupons! And, it’s time to go to work.

Mark, it would seem to me that the progressives have constructed the means to destroy the republic and are now buying time in order for nature to take its course. Witness Wisconsin, oil policies, the Health care bill, the proposed budget, the attacks on Justice Thomas, all and more designed to buy time. I threw in the Justice because progressives realizes that Justice Kagan should recuse herself on the health care bill, she was the US Solicitor General and has argued the Govt case in court and Justice Thomas is in their eyes the most vulnerable conservative on the court. The Obama admin. has begun to send out checks to seniors for prescription drug costs. Incremental-ism in this regard needs the assistance of time apathy and greed. Others spend their time worrying about the "big" issues. Some see the greatest danger being, unjust war's, global warming and puppy dog rights, screw the future of Liberty, by the way humanity flourishes during warm periods, others flee in the face of responsibility, let someone else do it. As long as I get mine, screw the rest of you. Amorality has become amusement, turn on the tele. We have become a society of narcissistic sociopaths who care not for others and who can blame them? I guess it will be left to their issue, when they realize what their parents have done.
Just whistling in the wind.
