Paul's Dismal Fundraising Misses $20 Million Mark!
Ron Paul, a man with "big ideas," suffers small support from miserly followers. by creator

♣DATELINE - January 1st, 2008 - Breaking news! (Warning: heavy sarcasm ahead...)
Ron Paul faces the distressing prospect of being an "also ran" today. Due to what can only be characterized as "a precipitous drop in enthusiasm" among donors, Paul's insurgent campaign failed to reach the meager goal of $20,000,000.00 earlier set by some of his rabid supporters.
Furthermore, a full 58 minutes into the New Year, the campaign had only received a dismal $3104.80 in contributions. Apparently too many Paul followers are out somewhere simply celebrating a New Year rather than taking care of business.
What an incredible lack of loyalty! If donations continue at this miserly rate, the first quarter of 2008 seems destined to merely outdo Huckabee's 4th quarter "fundraising surge" by a measly $2,000,000.00, or 40%!
Spokesmen for the Ron Paul 2008 campaign were not immediately available for comment.

Dude, you're an idiot! The $3K represents what was collected since 12:01am today EST. Ron Paul collected over $500K on the 31st. Check your facts before you post next time.
Is this a joke? Dr. Paul's 4th quarter goal was a very ambitious $12,000,000.00 and he actually raised OVER $19,550,000.00! That's OVER 7.5 Million above his goal! Huckabee bearly broke 5 Million and he didn't even set that goal until almost 2 weeks ago after he could judge what it could be. Ron Paul beat is goal by more than Huckabees grand total plus 50%! Huckabee beat his 5 Million dollar goal by 37,000, haha! Ron Paul will very likely raise TWICE what his next closest competitior will raise!
Your words are rancid like vomit. But I don't feel you are hurting anyone by them because the torch or liberty is now lit. For freedom is near. My eyes are opened and more and more Americans are opening their eyes to the truth that will set them free. RP'08!
$19.25 million this quarter...what a disappointment.....LOL! C'mon, who of us at the beginning of this quarter thought he could even come close to reaching the 12 million mark.
I think that RP supporters realize that he has more money than projected by far. Right now is time for movement and prayer, not fundraising. Watch for Iowa and NH. Go RP! However, January 21st = MLK money bomb! YEAH, super tuesday is just around the corner. HAPPY NEW YEAR AMERICA!!!!!

Ah... yes. Â Sarcasm!
Funny.Â
Â
Who wants to bet that the Mainstream media will bring up the "fact" that the 20 mil goal (new goal) was not met? Considering that the campaign was within 2.3% of meeting the new goal, there is nothing to be glum about for RP supporters. Fundraising records were set this past quarter.Â
Very funny. What makes Ron Paul supporters nervous about this article, is that it what we'll be reading in the MSM tomorrow only without the satirical snarkism. The MSM will omit, as Mr. McCreary did, that Ron Paul's "rabid" supporters raised 97.5% of the $20mil goal, and that 1 hour into the new year, they were still contributing an average of $3,000 per hour. Let's see the MSM-approved candidates match them apples !!
It seems to be increasingly difficult to find the "funny bone" of everyone out there. Noting the broad range of comments to some of my articles, I seem to hit the target in some of you but not in others.
So as not to needlessly offend, I have added a "sarcasm warning" to the beginning of the article.
Will that be enough to give my average reader a clue? That remains to be seen! Stay tuned!
This may be sarcasm, but you should give the main stream media any ideas for slander.
Ron Paul's goal was $12 million and we almost hit $20 million. That's pretty good considering we were all tapped out for Christmas. You can bet every one of those donors will get out and vote. I for one spent the new year standing out on a street corner with my local ronpaul.meetup.com group holding up signs and passing out flyers.

It's on now. This will be the year that will be known as the year of Americans taking America back or the rise of the Libertarian party if the idiots in the GOP don't back the the good doctor.
I guess some people can't read the "Heavy Sarcasm Ahead" warning. Actually, what I find interesting is that last quarter, they (MSM) couldn't stop talking about fund raising numbers and how Ron Paul was able to raise 5 million. They mostly talked about the other guys, but the media attention given to fund raising numbers and the fund raising website, brought new life to the campaign. Most candidates hide their numbers. For example, Romney puts his own money into the pot. Anyways, they don't talk that much about fundraising numbers because they now they will be forced to talk about Ron Paul.
Happy New Year fellow readers. Take it easy on this author, he was only trying to be funny with a bit of sarcasm e.g. illustrating the absurdity of the MSM with absurdity. Of course he knows that Ron Paul has smashed every fundraising record he has set out during his campaign.
Perhaps a good New Year's resolution would be "to lighten up."Â :)

I believe the author was sarcastically putting forward what we may expect from the MSM's coverage of our "missed" goal.
When you comment for Dr. Paul, you are representing him to possible NEW supporters. If you don't fully read an article before posting, it's probable that you'll make a comment that makes you look foolish and therefore make Dr. Paul look foolish. Lets Elect Dr. Paul, not sabatoge him.
"Sorry" on behalf of other Paul supporters who are too stressed to detect sarcasm from a fellow supporter. It's hard to keep one's sense of humor when one feels the building is on fire. Ironically, that's the best time to keep a cool head. Brace up, people, and never let 'em see you sweat. "Campaign to win - but have fun."
I caught the sarcasm. My favorite form of humor. But, sometimes one is not ready for it, and . . .
On the other hand, I had posted $25Â Million by Midnight on this forum and got no support. I do believe that was possible and the money could have been put to good use.
Fact is, we are down to one month. Money after that will mean little. I encourage everyone to did deep NOW.
And those who have maxed out, support the Blimp or the Call Centers or anything - But do it NOW.
Many of us old timers have been looking, hoping, wishing, dreaming about such a time as this. It has been more than forty years for most of us. As today Wisconsin is on the tube I'm wearing red - a Buchanan tee from 2000 - but he never came close to the possibilities being generated by Ron.
So GIVE NOW. DO NOT WAIT for a bomb. Get out the credit card today, max it out, and know that you have done everything you could to make the world a better place for your children.Â
I didn't realise just how many people cannot detect obvious sarcasm. That is a bit worrying. The fact this guy is a libertarian may have been a small clue. Thanks for the article. :)
yeah, I think some are a little sensitive and edgy with all the dissing and downright unfair crap and bogus bias on various sites about Ron Paul, so quickly they get nerved up. Pretty obvious sarcastic article.

A dismal $20 million? That is a very uneducated statement. Clinton also raised $20 million in the 4Q. Romney raised $18.5 million in the 3Q with his own contributions. Huckabee didn't come close, McCain didn't come close. The others won't say but you can bet they are not much more if they are not beaten.
How ignorant of you.
If Dr Paul raised $100 mil idiots like this would still dismiss it as "dismal". It doesn't matter that he broke fundraising records and matches or beats the media darling "frontrunners". The bias is as think as Magnum P.I.s mustache.
