Nukes, Iran, and globalism

The situation in the Middle East is the perfect example of the damage done to US national Security by globalism

Did you ever have a friend or family member who had the cause of their own problem right in front of their face, and yet refused to see it.  In fact, they think the cause of their problem is actually an asset, or a positive. They just can't seem to make the connection between the pain they are feeling and the baseball bat hitting them in the head!

Iran, nuclear weapons and globalism are all tied together.  They are a perfect example of the great weakness of globalism, you can't control all the loonies no matter how hard you try.  And in fact your friend today, could be tomorrow's looney. History, even modern history is replete with examples of nations which were friends, turning on each other when national interests crossed.

Here we have Iran.  Ummm, lets see. No democracy. A power in the region with a long history of empire, expansion, and blood feuds lasting centuries.  Oh, and Persians are not Moslems.  You see we had Persians as classmates at The Citadel when the Shah was in power.  One of them was my roommate for a semester.  Not sure if he is even alive after the overthrow of the Shah.

Anyway, we have Iran.  Now they are not buddies with Israel.  And like I said they have, from era to era aspired to regional power.  Now, Israel has nukes. Oh we are not supposed to say that. They aren't supposed to have nukes, but they do.  So now Israel has nukes so her competitors want equality, so they want nukes.  You know...."he has a nuke, so where's mine?"  You remember that from sandbox 101 right?  Nothing too hard about that idea.  Two year olds kinda get that idea.

So in the matchbox of the world, where tensions have been high since before i was born, we have some serious bad karma going on.

Now lets break from that to globalism.  Yes the neo cons favorite "ism."  Globalism for the purposes of this article is the free passage of people, goods, and monies across borders.  Its an economic and political theory which see profit, growth, and improvement if man's condition in the minimization of national borders.  It allows for market development, and westernization of the world.  Besides creating economic opportunities for the world's richest people and for the controllers of large pension funds, and big profit centers, it de-nationalizes people and with that, reduces the threat of war...supposedly.

But there's one catch.  Right now, that catch is nuclear weapons. You see they are a product and technology.  With globalism they should move across borders freely. Opps, nope you are nuts, can't have that.

But some, like the US, Great Britain, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, and well quietly Israel have them. Maybe even South Africa.

But then there's the loonies, the old Axis of Evil crowd.  Well, being they wear lack hats they can't have those nukes.  And most of the other nations of the world are too small, too easily manipulated.  So for now at least, we can keep a handle on those black hats trying to get the nukes.  Of course, there's globalism operating around the world and some of the subsidiary components of nuclear weapons like computers, avionics, etc. are kinda less easy to monitor or control. And then of course there's all the western universities that need third world students to pay for the salaries of the over-priced academicians...so those kids will learn about our newest technologies.

You see right now, its nukes that seem to be the most lethal weapon. But tomorrow it could be a biological virus, or a computer virus.  It could be a laser weapon, or a genetic alteration to food that stop future generations from growing.  To be quite honest, there is simply no telling. The genie has been let out of the bottle.  Not only have the technologies developed by the US ( or aliens from another planet) been disbursed throughout the world, but western colleges have taught the best and brightest of the rest of the world. Don't worry though, the best and brightest have been "westernized," they are no longer nationalists.

These dangers have always been here from globalism. It's not they weren't known, its just that Ivy Leaguers and Council on Foreign Affairs can handle it. You know, they are even smarter than the bestand brightest of the rest of the world.

Meanwhile America sits with 300 years oil and gas resources. Yep that's right, enough of our own resources to take care of 100% of our national needs for 300 years.  But...we need the Middle East, high federal and state tax on our gasoline and 4 dollar a gallon gasoline.

Want to see how far we have progressed.  Get a copy of Hawaii Five- O of the seventies and look at the cars...which would you rather own, the old ones, or the jokes running around today? Yep, that's progress. Anybody got an old Dr. Pepper in a bottle?
