Who will provide the US with an accurate picture of today?

The media is corrupt, both political parties have been consumed by their special interests, the world is bigger and changing faster than ever

Moving from a bi-polar to a multi-polar world, distracted by various domestic sideshows, influenced by international corporations, the rapidity of technological change, and overwhelmed by diversity, Americans no longer have a comprehensive view of reality when it comes to the world we live in.

We have more media, more colleges and universities, more PhD's, and more access to information then ever before in world history, and yet Americans have no real sense of national identity, could never list theten most powerful nations in the world, or describe the major threats against our nation...or more importantly describe the way our nation needs to develop to sustain our economic prosperity and world leadership.

Who should do that?

Who would we trust as an objective, accurate, wise illustrator of the world we live in, or analystof our national needs. Instead we are blasted by special interests, whether they be doctors and medical companies, or teachers unions, or defense contractors who continually cry the sky is falling!

America is flailing about, dealing with issues like global warming and gay rights while we plunge into debt oblivion and watch the United Nations, with the help of our State Department threaten domestic rights. The Supreme Court looks to foreign nations for guidance when it makes decisions onour Constitution!

Simply put, no one has the confidence of the American people. We are simply "too diverse" with too few commonalities to have any mutually shared priorities or foundational views.

I would say that it is the role of the political parties, but they are so beholden to special interests and big buck individuals that they do not have the freedom to do a realistic survey of the world today and describe it, and our nation.

So, as a nation we are blind. We have lost perspective by pushing our Christian God outof our political life, and have no view of the world as it exists today.

To construct policies which will be broad enough to gain support of a super majority of Americans and define our nation for the 21st century, the needs to be a general review of the world. Which nations are rising, and which are falling? What alliances exist? What the economic ties between nations?

One source of information should be the Central Intelligence Agency. A second the Defense Intelligence Agency. Without this review, our nation is operating in the dark , prioritizing effort without any real knowledgeof what we face in the future.

Thanks for confirming that the military-industrial complex is heavily supported by Christian right. Who knew?
