We are just a few days from Iowa now. The video at the link below is the best I've seen. I stumbled across it tonight and had to share. It is on youtube, but in a lot of inaccessible pieces. If you know anyone in Iowa, if you have an undecided friend, if you want to see a man speak from the soul, one who understands what America is supposed to be, and what we need to do to get there, watch this video. If you think "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself" was good: watch this video and forward this link to your friends.
I guess the Federal Government didn't really care when Ron Paul made speeches like this on the House Floor--they knew that nobody was paying attention. They didn't care when he started winning text message and internet polls--those things are simply the domain of the young, and they don't vote. They didn't care when he broke fundraising records--the mainstream media could just not report it or say things like "good for him" as if they were talking about a poor kid who just got into a marginal state school while they're kid was on the way to the Ivies. They didn't care about having him on debates (at least at first) because nobody watches primary debtes after all; plus, he isn't young, photogenic, or silver-tongued.
Maybe I'm starting to become a conspiracy "kook." I laughed a few weeks back when I read the article on here about the "Paul is Dead" message scrolling across the screen. I chuckled at the idea that Russert saying "be safe on the campaign trail" had any underlying meaning. But after watching this video, I truly understand what a threat to the establishment this man really is. I pray (literally) that Ron Paul will be kept safe. But even he acknowledges that his life could be threatened if he continues to do well.
And after Iowa and New Hampshire they will no longer be able to deny what is happening, but it still won't be too late for a tragedy to befall Dr. Paul.
With his foresight, I wouldn't be surprised if he has already created a "just in case" video addressing his supporters. I hope he has. We all know that it isn't Ron Paul we love. It is his message. If we love him it is because of his consistent, faithful carrying of the message until its time had come. I hope that this video will never be shown, but if it is I hope that he names the person he trusts most to carry on the message so that we can put him in a position where his life is in danger as well.
I hope there is a list that can be confirmed listing everyone he would support for Congress and the Senate. I hope that he has a list of every freedom killing bill obscured behind a euphemistic name that we need to pressure our reps to repeal. Then again, I'd prefer for him to do all that stuff personally through his website when he's elected or in 2012 or 2016 when he walks out of office.
I'm still leaning to the side of "our politicians really do want what's best for America but just misunderstand what that is" vs. "the government is trying to turn America into a military dictatorship by slowly destroying personal liberties and individual wealth" but I'm bending. I still don't believe the government planned, orchestrated, or willingly allowed 9/11 to occur; I think Flight 93 crashed in PA because of the Patriots who overtook terrorists; I can't believe they killed Kennedy. But I'm bending.
I know how powerful denial can be, but there is also something to be said for keeping a healthy skepticism (not cynicism) about everything you hear including the things you hear that confirm what you already believe.
I want a leader who will restore the government of our nation when it was younger. The one that was "conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." A government that never has to be questioned because it is open. A government that will know that if it messes up the people will hold it accountable.
No matter what happens in Iowa or beyond, we have to keep this message alive. After all, it isn't Dr. Paul's message: It's ours. And it's hidden in plain sight on a piece of paper whose first three words are "We The People." We can sort out how to best keep the message alive after everything goes down. In the meantime, we've got an election to win!!!

Great article. I personally have also been very worried for Dr. Paul that if he does get elected he will be quickly assasinated by the current establishment, corporations, bourgeosie, all of the above, someone else. Radical or otherwise. The state of things in this day and age is very sad and I worry for our collective future, not only in the US but in the entire world. I hope for a future that promotes our equality and turns away from our indifferences. The rights of other people and especially other countries with governments established by their people that understand their issues far better than we do with our meddling deserve the right not to be infringed upon just as we do as US citizens by our own government.
That video doesn't appear to be working anymore. Funny, I wonder why? ;)
A fair article for this site. I am surprised you did not mention Benjamin Fulford's warning to 'the elite.'
From his warning: "A Chinese secret society with 6 million members, including 1.8 million Asian gangsters and 100,000 professional assassins, have targeted ... a list of 10,000 people associated with mainly members of the Bilderberg, CFR and Skull and Bones. Neo Cons are also high priority targets.
"I have been promised that not a single person will die if they negotiate in good faith," Fulford says. ... "So far, I have told them that they are no longer allowed to murder Japanese politicians. I now plan to extend this protection to all politicians in the West. If they assassinate or attempt to assassinate Ron Paul, Barak Obama or any politician, may God have mercy on their souls."
From what I understand they will go after, to extinction, the 10,000 and their entire families. Not sure I would want to call that bluff.
Now one may discount Mr. Fulford's warning but it is interesting that about 5 months after issuing the warning he interviewed David Rockefeller for about an hour and posted the interview on YouTube/Google Video. Why would such a powerful and wealthy man subject himself to such an interview?
The video took a couple of minutes to buffer and begin, Joe. I hope you can get it to play, as it's a very good perspective that all of us, regardless of political stripe, need to think about.
Nice article John, and I'm about in the same place as you are I think.  I want to believe otherwise, but events start to add up and you start wondering if some people and companies are intentionally working against the best interests of the American people or not.
 I watched the speech Ron Paul delivered and a couple of thoughts went through my head. First, it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall of the house and watch and listen. I wonder what the other Representatives think when Dr. Paul calls to their attention the flaw in blindly following any policy, and I wonder what they think when they hear about the changes to posse comitatis and I wonder if any of them even know what it is.
The other thought that crosses my mind is what a person would do for a half a trillion or even a trillion dollars. If someone thought this guy stood a chance of slowing down the firehose of cash coming their way what would they do?
Again, I want to believe otherwise but I think we live in troubled times.
It is now known the Bilderbergers have discussed removing Ron Paul. This is not good news, but not unexpected. It would be very unwise, as there are now many, many military trained and war experienced soldiers supporting Ron Paul. I am certain there would be Bilderbergers and others in related groups that would experience removal in repraisals spanning the next many decades.
Logic would be, to allow fair elections and full term if elected. Stump the message with a CFR backed Congress and media, but avoid direct violence against the man. Best now to shut down all media coverage of the man till November and sacrifice a few FCC licenses.
Interesting times. I look forward to seeing the year unfold.
