An early look at the GOP Presidential stable

Two years can go by mighty quick, and its not too early for GOP aspirants to start working the primary voters!

Thought I would take a very early look at whose out there for the Republicans.

Mitt Romney is probably the favored of alot of the main strean Republicans. A former governor of Massachusetts he can claim executive experience. A blue blood in the Republican Party, he is a social moderate with deep connections to the business world.  But it is some of his strengths which make him a non-starter. First, getting elected in Massachusetts meant atleast tolerance of and by the organzied labor movment, unions.  Romney put a state wide health care program in place...socialism at the state level. Some might argue that's ok...I don't. Romney is the epitomy of the "ruling class" Limbaugh talks about so often and his liberal stance on many social policies is why I couild NEVER vote for him...

Newt Gingrich.  When he was a revolutionary he was brilliant. This is a super smart man who knows history, American history, American governance, and how they all relate.  But after he was diposed from his position as Speaker of the House Newt decided to sell out to globalism and the main stream of the GOP. Some would say he is not electable because of his far right reputation, I would say he is not electable because he is not even somewhat right!  A super smart man, if he could be re-educated towards the Tea Party he would make an excellent Vice President.

Fred Thompson.  A disappontment two years ago, he won't go anywhere unless there is a fire in his belly.  He has alot of potential, but this time I am not waiting for him to make his move. He didn't last time. Too bad, but he would be an excellent VP choice, or cabinet officer.

Mike Huckabee A Christian, a former governor he has things to offer. But his views on immigratin and amnesty kill any chance for him.  Americans want the borders closed, sealed...He won't do that.

Sarah Palin, a 21st century female Ronald Reagan - she's my girl.

Rudy Guiliani  This man showed tremendous leadership during September 11th. He also was able to clean up New York City, a cess pool, when he was mayor.  But, he's too dang liberal on social issues! The next President is gonig to have stand firm on traditional marriage, stand firm against the Gays on a variety of issues. Not sure Rudy would do that.

Marco Rubio Too new. I dont know if I spelled his name right. I have never heard him speak. Could not pick him out of a crowd of two, the other being Sarah.  GOP should not follow the Democrats lead and elect rookies! He neds time to prove he is for real.

Rick Perry, governor of Texas.  No way. A consevative fraud. He blew off Arizona in the middle of their feud with the feds over imimgration, but went on Hannity after election day 2010 to say he supported Arizona in its fight! A lier...talk to anyone in Texas.  Perry has held the line on spending to a degree and has not raised taxes, but with an 18 billion dollar hole we'll see if he has the conservative groin he claims.

This list is far from complete, and there are probably many other choices. But for the GOP to have a chance we better have an open, fair competition. If the ruling class sets up a GOP primary marathon that is hostile to conservatives, and facilitates a social liberal...there will be h--l to pay.  Service members better get to vote!

How bad could Obama be with a conservative House and a Republican controlled Senate?

Obama is a disgrace, and is hurting our nation. But even with that I will not vote for a GOP Presidential candiate who waivers on Gay Rights, immigration, deficits, taxes, repeal of Obama Care, etc. I could give a hoot about terrorism, or Israel...America First ...for once!

We better see America First in energy resource development, rebuilding the American eonomy, embracing the Bible and the Constitution.

I'll start off by saying that I agree with a lot that you have to say. I agree with your take on Romney, Rubio, and Giuliani. I don't think it is Rubio's time yet, and Romney and Giuliani are too liberal.

However, I do have to disagree with some things that you said. As for Newt Gingrich, I think that he is a solid conservative and would make a great President. You should take a look at some of the books that he has written, I think they'll allay any fears you may have about his conservatism. Also, one comment that I found interesting was when you said that Gingrich could be "re-educated towards the Tea Party". Is it a good idea to "re-educate" people? Personally, I do want a candidate that shares my beliefs, but I would never vote for someone who merely pandered or flip-flopped to get my vote. If someone does this, then it shows that they are more interested in winning an election than standing on their real principles.

I also disagree with your disapproval of Mike Huckabee. I like him and think that he is one of the few honest men left in Washington. I do not see how you could think that Huckabee is soft on illegal immigration when he was endorsed by Minutemen founder Jim Gilchrist. If there is a barometer to what a canidate's stance is on illegal immigration, I would imagine it would be whether or not the Minutemen endorsed him.

Finally, on the subject of Sarah Palin I do disagree with you comparing her to Reagan. Now don't get me wrong, I think she is a solid conservative and I probably agree with her on 99-100% of the issues. But, I do not think that she has what it takes to be President. Since she started that reality TV show, I just can't take her seriously. I'm sure that some scoffed at the idea of Reagan, an actor, being governor of California. But, he was governor (of California) for quite a while before becoming President whereas Sarah Palin has only been a governor (of Alaska) for a short time. I think that she needs to maybe run for the Senate first, then I think that she would be more experienced.

I'm not trying to be a critic, but I am very worried about who the GOP's 2012 canidate will be. If we stand on conservative principles and run an honest candidate, I think we'll win. If we drive to the middle and pick some hack to run, we won't win. Plain and simple.
