Glenn Beck's Myopia

Glenn Beck has not called attention to the real source of media bias and the devastating effect it has on the political scene.

To set the stage correctly, I’d like to begin by saying that I’m a regular viewer of Glenn’s program and am greatly appreciative of the really excellent work he’s doing.  At great risk and sacrifice to both himself and his family, he has awakened millions of Americans to many of the realities of life among our perverse politicians.

That said, I must also say that it seems to me he has either overlooked one of the central factors in the current swing to the left or has just decided not to discuss it, perhaps because he deems it too controversial or too risky.

Glenn often cries out about the fact that the mainstream US media (outside of FOX) uniformly ignores highly newsworthy articles that run counter to their socialistic agenda.  The universal nature of this censorship runs counter to what one assumes motivates reporters and commentary writers, individuals that one would think would jump at the chance to break hot stories that would enhance their careers.  No doubt there are many such individuals but they have learned that to buck the system is not the way to get ahead.  Their editors block any articles or stories that are out of step with their agenda and make sure the reporters that hand in such material are properly instructed in what is acceptable and what is not.  This, of course, goes up the management ladder as well.  Higher level managers see to it that their editors and lower level managers – that make it through the hiring process – are of the same general persuasion (e.g., good little socialists) and that the mavericks that slip through are either corrected or encouraged to leave.  Ultimately it is the top man (or possibly a board of directors) that sets the tone for each newspaper, TV network or news agency.

We have then a relatively small number of individuals (at most a few hundred) that wield an enormous amount of political power.  They make and break congressmen, senators and presidents; they sway elections through their control over what the people are told and what choices (all favoring their agendas) are open to them.  If they chose to they could constitute what amounts to an oligarchy (rule by a few) that operates a level above the elected legislative, executive and judiciary branches of government.

To think these people don’t talk to each other and share their views with each other on specific issues is highly naive.  The fact that they are so uniformly opposed to the FOX perspective on virtually every incident demonstrates that there must be some mechanism in place that operates to synchronize their actions.  The recent Glenn Beck story of the release of the Black Panther individuals, one of which openly advocated killing "crackers" and their babies, that was totally ignored by the mainstream media is just one of the many blatant demonstrations of how tightly controlled this media really is.

The American people need to be made aware of the extent to which their political freedom has been compromised.  Most are under the impression that we live in a democratic republic in which the people have at least some degree of control of the government through their representatives.  This is far from true; the astute politician knows that if he wants to be reelected he needs media support, which ultimately translates into popular support.  Politicians are well aware that to arouse the ire of the media elite is political suicide so they are careful to stay on their good side.

If enough people were made aware of the fact of this oligarchy and how they control both votes and politicians, they would be outraged and its power would be seriously impacted.  It would lose control over who gets elected because many voters would react negatively to what they say and turn to alternative media for information.  Politicians in turn would discover this quickly and get out from under their net also.  It could constitute a sea-change in popular attitude, one that might be a real step toward a restoration of the republic.

The American people are a huge and extremely powerful army that has been divided against itself and does not know who it is fighting against.  They need to come to the realization that the enemy is within and they need to be able to focus on a specific embodiment of that enemy.  This media-controlling oligarchy is just such an embodiment.  If Glenn and FOX were to level their guns against this target, they might just be able to break through the apathy that is currently prevalent in most of their audience.  Let’s hope and pray they have the courage to do so.

Very Amusing!!

You establish a valid point........that the media is corrupt, for which there is plenty of obvious evidence and then without any facts or reason, you make an exception!

Here's something similar.........baseball players take steroids.......oh, but Bonds doesn't, because he told me so!

here's another...........war is bad.......oh, but its okay in Iraq and Afganny!

income tax is bad, well unless it's the lower classes that pay.

It makes one wonder, is there anything else which many of these people who have such influence over the news and entertainment media have in common with one another, aside from ideology? For example, are a majority of them Irish, or Presbyterian? If one could establish that many of them were members of a specific population group which was greatly overrepresented in the media, that might be more than just coincidence.

What is ruining our nation is rampant stupidity, ignorance and delusional thinking, all of which personifies Beck and so many other idiots that gather big audiences because they appeal to people sharing those qualities.

Now, let's all do some research and figure out what all these media moguls might have in common...

Billy, I'm impressed with the list of names you came up with. I don't think, though, that they represent the top level of the hierarchy. I'd look at these individuals as the middle managers or front men that take orders or at least get their operating principles from higher up. It might be a lot more difficult to get a list of the top level people.

You may be right, but I guess these guys are the highest level which we mere mortals can access in the power strata. What do you think they might have in common? That might tell us something about whom they would take their orders from.

Billy, I would say that they are generally politically liberal or socialistic, socially progressive and religiously atheistic and strongly anti-Christian. Their current top level goal is the establishment of a one-world, socialistic, atheistic, totalitarian state in which they would be the kingpins.

I would agree. But if they were all Irish, or Lebanese, that might raise some eyebrows and cause some to ask why there were such a preponderance of Irish or Lebanese at that level of management of the news and entertainment media. As it turns out, they are all of Eastern European Jewish ancestry.
