In the last couple of weeks, two things have become clear. Congressman Ron Paul would like to talk about the issues and the main stream media coupled with several, neoconservative, pundits would like to change the subject.

Of course, I was always baffled with the term "neoconservative". It leads one to believe the idea of creating a world empire is "new" and growing government is "conservative"?

At any rate, when a Presidential candidate goes on Meet the Press, they are sure to prepare for the burning question on the lips of every Republican voter ...The Civil War???

The New York Times recently issued a retraction based on an article by Virginia Heffernan on Paul's supposed ties with white supremacists stating "They met at a Thai restaurant- usually on Wednesdays." Note to the Times: Did you see any irony in that statement before you published it? What's next ... the Paul camp secretly meeting with Islamic radicals at Bob's Rib Shack?

It has even degenerated into pure name calling. Neoconservative commentator and think tank extraordinaire, Bill Kristol, called Ron Paul a "crackpot" and his views "Anti-American" on a recent guest spot on Fox News. Of course, he left out the fact that, unlike Paul, he never served his country.

Over the last few years, while waving the flag from his desk, he spent his time persuading politicians to embark on his radical, disastrous, utopian, fantasy of invading, occupying Iraq, and "spreading democracy"... a specious argument from the beginning. Saddam Hussein had a pitiful, conscripted, army, had nothing to do with 9/11, and had no WMD's. Even if he did, wouldn't have it been more likely for him to use them over here after we invaded? Then he would have had nothing to loose. Of course, neocons never seem to answer the question of IF they ever reverse 1,000 years of history and create democracy in Iraq, what will they do when Iraqis elect someone they don't agree with?

History has proven war to be a necessary evil. But, it has also proven those needed times to be rare and neoconservative thirsts for war almost insatiable.

Quietly, there is another war being waged by these folks ... the war against the present.

All the while the neoconservative media pundits tout one candidate after another ... throwing flowers at the feet of the Pollster Gods hoping the public will buy in to their message and they will finally have an anointed, GOP, front-runner as a cardboard stand- in for their beloved, status quo, agenda. The problem is its becoming a challenge finding voters willing to line up around the corner for bigger government and endless war.

Conversely, despite the best efforts of Neoconservatives like Kristol and entities like Fox, the free market is still working. Who could have imagined that an obscure, country doctor turned Congressman could have raised $10 million dollars in two days, and now has as many individual contributors than all the anointed, "Top Tier", Republican candidates combined?

Alas, as we were told, it was only a few spammers who sent the money, manipulated the online polls, bussed themselves to all the GOP straw polls throughout the county, petitioned to be delegates in every state, and put up all these signs in every hamlet across America.

Despite the media distractions as of late (meaning an informative discussion of the present is just too painful) the central theme of The Founders spread by Ron Paul is resonating ... and it is this:

What made America great was the fact that it was the one refuge from the old world where one could be free from government to live one's life as they saw fit. We would not entangle ourselves with the old quarrels of the rest of the world and instead protect our borders and our liberties here at home.

At long last, the ruling political classes of America of both parties, our noble saviors, have succeeded in creating the largest government in the history of the world. So much in fact that, over the last few decades, they have decided to export it either by military occupation or deciding which countries around the world are run by the wrong group of thugs.

Welcome to "Anti-America".
