We must honor the founders for two very important gifts that they left us. The tools of self-determination and the illustration of reason. They attenuated fundamental principles key to the posterity we must pass to our children. Choice is fundamental to self-determination. If we deny individual choice, no matter how distasteful, we deny liberty and the responsibility of self determination. Professing foundational principles while at the same time denying others choice, gives rise to and promotes tyranny.
When Glenn Beck wrote his book "Arguing with Idiots", having a literal bent, my first reaction was that I wouldn't consider progressives, at least the ones that I am acquainted with to be idiots. They may be demonstrating intellectual dysfunction, but are they idiots? Situational disinterest in the nation's foundational documents does not equate to idiocy. When the situation arises and it is in their best interest to wrap themselves in the founding documents in the furtherance of their ideological goals, they become self described patriots without peer.
Opposite Mindsets
When conservatives contend that progressive actions are extra-constitutional and it seems that the argument is falling on deaf ears, well it is. Any apparent negotiation or compromise on the part of progressives is merely a cynical attempt to buy time. That unassailable tin ear is in fact just that. Why? The conservative argument is about principles, principles established by our founding fathers and paid for with their blood and the blood of succeeding generations. Progressives/Marxists do not share our principles of self -government and individual rights. Their principles have their foundation in the collective, in the works of Marx and Engels, the confirming blood of Marxist principles was and is being spilled in communist revolutions and current activities worldwide and they have no relationship to the principles established by Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Adams or the American Revolution. The highlights of the Marxist revolutions are in Red Square, Tiananmen Square, the killing fields of Cambodia, the Gulags in Russia. For good measure throw in millions of dead in Mao's Cultural Revolutions and Stalinist purges. The evolutionary highlights of the America Revolution include millions freed from slavery and the fascism of totalitarian regimes, in the relative freedom of those living in Europe, Russia, Korea, Singapore, Japan, Israel and the United Kingdom.
Progressive Deflective Reasoning
Progressives always deflect Constitutional considerations into arguments about so called "social justice" and the assertion of a living Constitution and a Bill of Rights that are morphable to include any so called principle that furthers their goals. It it is more than apparent that the principles progressives espouse are not principals at all. It is a ruthless modus, a ruthless means to and end.
Social justice or redistributable equality, the siege engine of the assault on the Constitutional foundations of our society, has no rational basis in our founding documents. Progressive methods are based on lies of deceit and the use of willing accomplices in the general public and the press who seem to be either ignorant of, fellow travelers or in denial of the crystal clear history of the Marxist progressive revolution.
Progressive Intellectual Dysfunction
Progressive intellectual dysfunction manifests itself when viewed through the lens of the Founding Fathers and the documents that define the founding of this nation. The Declaration, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. are precisely the source of our "exceptionalism". In all the world we are unique. We alone have codified the supremacy of individual rights. If viewed on the other hand from the point of view of the collective, Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Castro and Obama, then conservatives and our founding documents are dysfunctional. Make no mistake they will use our tolerance of their intolerance to eliminate our culture. They believe that the collective mind is superior and forms the basis for the progressive's presumption of "intellectual superiority". Progressives selectively twist and ignore our laws and principles to suite their purposes. They leave their stamp on all levels of government, they are equal opportunity revolutionaries, from City Hall to the White House.
The Marxist Progressive Gamble

How long will Americans continue the fool's errand of sleeping with the devil? How long will they continue to sit on their hands? To tolerate these progressive usurpations,"For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:" (DOI). It appears that Obama cynically throws these words in our face. How long will the attempts to define Patriots as thugs , extremists and radical terrorists keep liberty loving Americans from throwing these Marxist miscreants out of power? That is the progressive gamble.
A possible first step, 2011 ?
A Constitutional provision that all laws no matter when or where derived, must pass strict constructionist Constitutional muster before codification and enactment to prevent unalterable damage to the Union. Case in point ,"The healthcare law enacted this year" These Marxist/progressives are depending on universal healthcare becoming systemically intrenched even before the health care bill takes complete effect, thus rendering repeal all but impossible. This new Constitutional provision must require that all existing laws be examined and deemed Constitutional. This would be an enormous task but the alternative will be to revisit the violence of our Nation's birth. On the bright side, it would be constructive to task our government with Constitutional endeavors and Constitutional controls. All that is necessary is the realization that they, the Progressive-Marxists are the criminal thug revolutionaries and they intend to destroy our system of government. We must act while we still can before these miscreants become insufferable and violence ensues.
