Thank You Ron Paul

Before the Iowa Caucus and things get a bit crazy, I just wanted to say thanks

Dear Mr. Paul,

I would like to take the time to thank you for what you have done in the 2008 Presidential Election. Before the first vote is cast, before the first Caucus meeting, and without spending one dime of taxpayer money, you have restored my faith in sticking to my principles.

I have often felt like a lone wolf amongst my friends and relatives. I refused to comprimise and vote for the "lesser of two evils", and while I have never had to hang my head in shame at who I voted for, I felt less and less a part of the system each time an election was held. I felt I was becoming insignificant except for the taxes extracted from me.

I cannot imagine what it has been like for you in Congress all these many years. I have been reading your book ,A Foreign Policy of Freedom, and the speeches you made during the early '80s regarding the conflicts of the day. To update the speeches, all one has to do is change the names of the adversaries, and what you said then still applies today. What you said was based on principle.

I want to thank you for not selling out, for not giving in, despite the ridicule and insults that I know you had to be subjected to. Only a man of true principle, who knows what they really believe, would be able to survive untainted.

For every person that has been told that they must choose between two bad choices, between two ideals that they do not support, between the lesser of two evils, thank you for showing each of us that we have a third choice: Stick to you Principles and you will not regret it. Stick to your Principles and they cannot be used against you if the principle is solid.

Thank you for having the courage to take on the Republican Party from within. The Republican Party needs to get the message that they have strayed too far. That message can only be taken seriously if it originates within the party. If the message originates othe party,it is ignored, and as we have seen we have ended up with more of the same bad choices. I have to be honest that it does not bode well if the party is so willing to ignore so many of its' own members. It is not difficult for me to imagine how those oustide the party must feel.

Thank you for also not ruling out completely a third party run for the presidency. As any man of Principle, you are giving your party the opportunity to hear and adjust their priorities( if only they would listen). You are giving them the chance and I am not sure they deserve it. If they choose to ignore this opportunity to restore America to it's Constitutional roots, and ignore the millions of supporters who share the same objective, you will have every right to then go outside of the Republican Party to seek the office of President.

Most of all, thank you for not giving up, Ron Paul. You have kept many of us from giving up and giving in as well.

Thank you.

Yours in Freedom,

EJ Moosa

I too am one of those who have never voted in my 30 years. Ron Paul has given me hope in our country and our future. The energy I feel now working to get him elected will carry on regardless of the outcome of this election. Thanks Dr Paul for waking me and so many other Americans up so we can fight to take our great country back.

What a sweet article on Dr. Paul, thanks. The suggestion made at the end of the article, encouraging Dr. Paul to run independent, eventhough thoughtful, is uncalled for. I quote you,

Are you also planning to send this letter? I have a feeling that there are a lot of people who would like to sign their names to it (including me). One thing I've always admired about Dr. Paul is that he could do what he has done for so many years, and still continue to maintain a positive attitude, rather than becoming fed up or discouraged with the system and the limits on what he was able to do. I think he deserves another big thank you for being willing to put up what he has had to in his candidacy for the presidency.

I suggest for those that have similar feelings to write a simple Thank You note to Ron Paul and mail it to him at his Congressional office.  The address is:

Washington, DC:
203 Cannon House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

I have printed my letter, signed it and I am mailing it Monday.

Imagine the feeling of receiving hundreds upon hundreds of Thank Yous from the American people.  He certainly deserves it.

I would like to thank Ron Paul for bringing light to the shadows where various people and groups have tried to hide their agendas. He has spoken truths that have been incovenient to those who have called him crazy for it- such as the likes of William Kristol and other neocons. They have tried to discredit him with any small matter they can find, but he has only gained more support as we have determined most all of what he has said to be valid.

The republican party is not what it is once was.The neocons ideology has been disguised as republican, but it is not in many ways. The party must revisit its roots or it probably will meet its demise.Ron Paul has stood up for America first and foremost while neocons, outsiders, lobbyists and special interests have taken control for their gain at our nation and its people's expense. We must all involve ourselves more in the affairs of our country to protect it from corruption and influence by those who do not have our best interests in mind.Ron has shown us causes to be concerned and reasons to be more watchful-we owe him a great debt.
