Republicans failed to provide a real alternative to the issues we face

The Democrats developed plans based on their ideology, and now they are implementing them...we shouldn't be surprised

The world is changing, and while ideologies can pass through technological, social and historic eras, they must be updated in application, and re-explained.

In America, the conservatives have failed to do that. Their two principle causes, war in the Mid East, and globalism have both been harmful to twenty-first century America. US policies in the mid east continue to divide the world and provide a rallying cause for third world nations who see the west as oppressors and unGodly.  US natiomalism and self-interest take a second seat to neo-conservative and one worlder goals.

We have sufficient energy reserves, if we will just apply ourselves to getting at them. New technologies and new discoveries within the continental United States, in Alaska, and along our shores could release America from endless fighting in the Mid East.  America could begin rebuilding itself for the twenty-first century by creating a foundation of energy self-sufficiency.

America's role as leader of the free world ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union on Christmas Day, 1991. Japan, Europe, and the developing nations no longer need big brother, nor will they meekly follow our lead. With the death of the Cold War struggle, nations and peoples were freed to find their own way. For the most part, there are no real threats to world peace. That's not to say there are not regional frictions, (Israel v. the Arabs, India and Pakistan as examples) but those regional competitions dont have to threaten world peace.

For America to regain its prosperiety and strength we must: re-commit to our own strength and success in the form of nationalism, and secondly, avoid becoming too involved in all the world's disputes.  We need to back off.

The People's Republic of China, India, and other nation states with large populations will inevitably rise to challenge US intersts around the world.  Our best chance to remain competitive is as a nation, not as the leader of some loosely defined confederation of rivals spread from Europe to South America.  We dont have the system or the heritage to act as the de facto leader of an international confederacy.

Commitment to Israel removes our ability to adjust our foreign policy (maneuver).  We are unable to adjust to technological and geo political changes, America's national interested are obfuscated and confused because of Israel's pre-eminance in American policy making.

Another questionable aspect of foreign affairs is our seeming submission to England. Listen to your radio, watch your television. Why are there so many English accents on our programming. Out of 300 million we don't have sufficient talent here? Those accents reflect something. They reflect a tie to Britain which is difficult to explain, unless you look in the corporate board room.

The Republicans front themselves with talk show hosts who sound nationalist, unless you really listen. But their support for globalism, for Israel, and for continued American presence in world affairs is a foundational aspect of the GOP. And because of it, our nation has had to trade away our wealth, prosperity, future. The Republican Party is not a true alternative to the Democrats. They reject their Religious Right and refuse social conservatism...and so we have abortion, homosexuality, and perversion in our entertainment.

2010 is an important year for America. Liberalism is destroying America. But if we vote for the Republicans simply as the lesser of two evils we will return to a slow death for our nation. If we, the mainstream, conservative Americans cannot elect a majority which is as conservative as we are in terms of our yearning for a Christian nation...than I would submit, lets sit this out. Lets allow the Democrats to win in 2010, or at least not lose too badly. Lets form a new party...a party which reflects our values, a party based on Christianity, nationalism, family, the Bible and the old Constitution.

There are several planks which the new party should embrace as litmus tests for candidates. One of those planks should be the right of secession. Secession is a right. But more than that, secession is the ultimate safeguard against uncontrolled central government. Secession is an insurance policy which would guard state sovereignty and individual rights.

We all have seen the failure in our system. Electing Republicans won't resolve the issues which are destroying our people. They have not provided a real alternative to the Democrats. Only a new party, founded on new principles, led by new leaders can turn our nation towards a new and brighter future.

I disagree. We have abortion, homosexuality, and perversion in our entertainment because the people continue to support it by how they spend their time and their money. We continue to support it by doing nothing different than the way we have always done it. We go to work, we come home, we watch TV while our kids zone out in their texting and on their ipods. We go shopping on the weekends and buy more and more crap that we don\\\'t need (and don\\\'t have any more room for), which continues to support all those factions that you mention in your essays that you hate.

Creating a new political party of politicians who also follow the money (and who are, dare I say even MORE dangerous in their intolerance of anyone who doesn\\\'t agree with them) and scratch each others\\\' backs will not solve your problems. It will only serve to create yet a third institution of fat cats who sit on their little thrones watching over their little empires. Meanwhile, the people under their watch will continue to go to work, come home, watch TV, etc., etc., etc.
