Everyone is a capitalist. His capital is a product of his time and his expenditure of mental and/or physical energy. The value of his body's capital is self assign or is an agreement between himself and a buyer. Each individual capitalist strives to make a profit from the employment of his capital, most often in a job. His profit is the excess, of the income earned by his individual capital, over the cost to sustain his life. He can spend his profit on; entertainment, relaxation or a luxury. He can save his profit for retirement. He can invest his personal profit for expected future profits on those investments.
A person's bodily capital can be used to create a one person business for product or service for sale. He can also form a private business with others for product and service creation and sale. There are a number of different forms of private group organization to use. Private here means a non-government organization and is usually called a company. Companies can raise money for operations, inventory and expansion by selling shares of ownership and by selling bonds. Sales, costs, profits, product inventory are terms used in all capitalist enterprises. If they can not pay their bills they become bankrupt, and likely disappear. Investing in a capitalist enterprise is also a part of capitalism. This is capitalism pure and simple.
There is a financial system to service the financial needs of; capitalist enterprises, investors and individuals. It consists of banks and markets for the exchange of money and; commodity products, ownership shares and bonds of capitalist companies. It provides services for the; safekeeping, borrowing and managing of money. It also provides insurance. This financial system is sometimes called Wall Street. This financial system is NOT capitalism. It is simply a service used by capitalist enterprises.
The economic trouble we are in is NOT a failure of Capitalism. The economic trouble we have and the lack of jobs we suffer from is a failure of our financial and political systems. If anyone is to receive bailouts it should be us and not the failed members of the financial system.

Author (Jim), you DO see the pyramid scheme symbol on the back of the USA one dollar bill, right? You DO see the servitude infestation in capitalism, right? And do you see the "pay up or lose your wellbeing" Chicago mob-like felony extortion widespread within capitalism? Do you see the "join or starve" felony extortion done to the 18 year olds... by this ugly competer's church called capitalism? See how forcing competer's religions onto 18 year olds... kills membership in the cooperator's church (Christianity/socialism)?? Do you understand that AmWay (American Way) (New World Order) got "the exclusive" (legal tender) on the TYPE of survival coupons (money) accepted in supply depots (stores) and leverages 18 year olds into the organization via that felony activity as well? (It puts AmWay-coupon slaving requirements called price tags... on all the survival goods). Do you understand how farmyard pyramids work... from your childhood?? Remember?? Upper 1/3 are "heads in the clouds" while the kids on the bottom ALWAYS GET HURT from the weight of the world's knees in their backs? Still with me? Do you see anything illegal, immoral, or just plain sick... in any of this pyramid scheme's activities?
Us American Christian socialists are still patiently awaiting the natural fall of the pyramid-o-servitude, or the busting of the free marketeers felony... by the USA Dept of Justice. Us Christians are VERY CLOSE to issuing a cease and desist order until the servitude and inequality goes away... which means it turns into a commune. Commune is a word we LOVE when used in the word "community"... but its one the caps HATE when used in the term "commune-ism". Go fig. PROGRAMMED!!
Do a Google IMAGE SEARCH for 'pyramid of capitalist' to see a full color picture made way back in 1911, when capitalism was first discovered to be a con/sham instigated by the Free Masons/Illuminati. Folks sure bought into the thing... hook, line, and sinker just the same. The caps didn't even check if a string was attached! Now THAT'S easy fishing, eh?
Time to level the felony pyramid scheme called capitalism. Abolish economies and ownershipism worldwide, and hurry. Economies just cause rat-racing, and rat-racing causes felony pyramiding. BUST IT, America! Look to the USA military supply/survival system... (and the USA public library system) for socialism and morals done right. Equal, owner-less, money-less, bill-less, timecard-less, and concerned with growth of value-criteria OTHER THAN money-value. Quit doing monetary discrimination immediately, and make it illegal. There are MANY measurement criteria of "value"... not just dollars. Try morals, efficiency, discrimination-levels, repairability, etc etc. Economies are cancerous tumors, and to cheer for their growth... is just insane. Profiting causes inflation, so if caps LIKE inflation, and if they LIKE a terrible time in afterlife when they meet the planet's ORIGINAL OWNER before caps tried to squat it all with ownershipism, then keep it up with the felony pyramiding. I dare you. While us Christians are finally bulldozing that pyramid scheme back to level, lets make servitude and "join or starve" (get a job or die) illegal in the USA, and lets level the architecture seen in USA courtrooms, too. Right now, USA courtrooms are church simulators or "fear chambers", by special design. Sick.
Isn't that back-of-the-dollar pyramid... a Columbian freemason symbol? And WHERE is the USA gov located? District of Columbia? (Not even part of the USA!) How much more blatant can ya get? The "Fed" runs a pyramid scheme called the free marketeers. If you're using the "federal reserve note" certificates, or using no-other-living-thing-on-the-planet entitles of ownership, you're bought into a servitude/slavery con/sham... called capitalism. ej; I find nothing in Rand to differ with my basic definition of Capitalism. You imply that there is. Would you kindly point out any conflict between Ayn Rand and me.

You may be confusing the politics and problems of our current monetary policies with what REAL capitalism is. If we had REAL capitalism (which we don't) we would have competing currencies or free barter with no currency between individuals or groups of individuals. Remember that it is our own government that FORCES us to pay taxes from our OWN labor even if NO CURRENCY IS EXCHANGED (barter). They FORCE us to pay only in the U.S. dollars that are issued through a Federal Reserve own by bank cartels making a monopoly of the use of force and a monopoly of the use of currency. For example, under our current system, if your neighbor mows the lawn for you and in exchange you paint the house for him, both of you are supposed to report a "profit" in your taxes for those services even though neither of you received money from it and both of you were problaby doing it from the goodnes of your hearts. Since that work that you received was done for your personal purpose, it does not qualify as a business expense, so each of you is supposed to report the "income" received from each other services but can't deduct the "expense" inccurred when "buying" each other services. Since the government does not accept barter, you are supposed to pay the government in U.S. DOLLARS which you HAVE NOT EVEN RECEIVED thus making us slaves of the state by forcing us to use only that currency. And that is how currency is FORCED. Of course we know that it is very unlikely that you will get caught in such transaction because there is no way for the government to track such transaction unless another neighboor has a grudge against you and reports too much barter. So the problem is that not paying taxes on barter IS illegal and thus we are ALL breaking tax law each and every day when we barter. In any REAL Capitalist society barter of goods and services is part of the capital that you FREELY exchange.
That pyramid that you are talking about is a result of Government restricting our freedoms each and every day and NOT a result of REAL Capitalism.
Here is what REAL capitalism would be: NO TAXES; individuals will freely exchange goods and services for other goods and services WITHOUT government intervention and with which ever currency you wish to use if any, and in a REAL capitalist society your view of a comune will still be allowed and completely legal because each individual will voluntarily join the comune and exchange their respective skills, goods and services for the goods and services the comune gives back to them.
