Eight Reasons Why the Nolan Chart Quiz Undermines the Defense of Liberty
I can't find any reason for caring what the choices are for the Nolan Chart Quiz answers. by Jahfre Fire Eater

I gave some thought to the efforts underway to change the Nolan Chart Quiz but I just can't muster a care about it still. Today's article elaborates on these thoughts from an article on this topic from a year ago, Why I'd Leave the Nolan Chart Quiz Just the Way It Is
Below are my reasons for reverting back to my previous position that I wouldn't change the Nolan Chart Quiz at all.
1. The questions are issue oriented, not principle oriented. This invites faith-based rationalization for incongruous beliefs about different issues. 2. The questions are not based a real-world context; merely academic debate. Doesn't deal with our real political system, economic system or government system. 3. Very small sample/participants. Splitting hairs in the tiniest group possible, that's the libertarian way. 4. Changes in the quiz do not change people's behavior in the real world. The self-marginalized remain futile no matter what label they earn through their quiz answers. 5. Encourages confusion over what is a philosophical debate club versus what is a valuable political activists tool. 6. Useless at such a high level; too few categories and qualifications to be of any use for anything. Folks end up hyphenating their self-labels and explaining their particular brand of futility anyway. 7. So simplistic that it detracts from productive discourse and lures folks into useless activity based on ridiculously simplistic perspectives. 8. Perfect example of how progressive indoctrination into the divide-and-conquer strategy consumes those who could be a threat to the status quo and renders them futile; self-marginalization through addiction to hair splitting and nit picking.
Below are some examples of relevant distinctions when trying to map quiz answers to real-world political behavior. This is in no way meant to be comprehensive, just an example of why the Nolan Chart quiz and the resulting labels add virtually nothing to the understanding of an individual. Party: (Pick One - the one you have registered with.) The party you pick is the tool you choose to use to promote your political agenda.
Democratic - Definitions change depending on the behavior of the party members who choose candidates.
Republican - Definitions change depending on the behavior of the party members who choose candidates.
Libertarian - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation. More like a debate club.
Independent - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation. More like a an angry mob who doesn't know what to do about it.
Constitution - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation. More like a an angry mob who doesn't know what to do about it.
Green - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation. More like a an angry mob who doesn't know what to do about it.
Socialist - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation. Bad ideas, failed ideas, can only be perpetuated through oppression.
Other - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation.
None - Not viable as tool for constructive political participation. More like a an angry mob who doesn't know what to do about it.
Philosophy of government: (Pick all that apply) These become hyphenate adjectives that qualify the part selection above.
Conservative - Definitions have evolved over the years from staunch traditionalists and religious piety, to secular limited government non-religious rebels like the Fire Eaters.
Religious - Some men's interpretation of God's word over-rides any laws of men.
Liberal / Progressive / Socialist - All-powerful central government is necessary to eliminate opposition that prevents these failed ideas from flourishing.
Classical Liberal (Libertarian) - Advocates small government and believes rights are physical attributes...blind faith in the emperor's new clothes.
Anarchy - If everyone would just stop forming governments...nonsense through and through.
Monarchy - Fading from favor.
System of government you desire: (Pick One) The system you choose will determine your options for constructive political participation.
Absolute Monarchy - fading
Constitutional Monarchy - fading
Republic - If you choose Republic, the you must also consider the structure of the republic. The most constructive behavior to promote your specific paradigm will vary at each level of government in the structure of the republic.
Anarchy - No system. Good for robots and other entities with no will or ambition.
Other
Political system you desire: (Pick One) The system you choose will determine your options for constructive political participation.

Religious - Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc.
Representative democracy - US Style, Israeli Style, etc.

Thanks for pointing out the simplistic nature of the Nolan Chart quiz with the overly complex and convoluted "realities" of the political spectrum. Less is more sometimes but more is often too much. Much too much.
Imagine two parallel lines The top one represents personal Liberty, the bottom one personal responsibility. Yes, there are a lot of yea-buts possible, but going there now is nonproductive to this essentially simplistic concept.
The more responsibility we take in our lives for our lives the greater liberty we should enjoy. Conversely the more we relinquish responsibility, subjugation in varying degree\'s of severity is the result.
The Constitution and Bill of Rights being the upper line bench mark. Sustained and supported by a responsible involved electorate, the bottom support line.
The more irresponsible we become, the more subjugation will follow. Failure of the top line due to the irresponsibility of the electorate is inevitable. The sliding just a little pregnant scale.
Oh! what the heck.
Do you believe that Government should do only what the people absolutely cannot do for themselves, in absolute terms. Libertarian
Do you believe in having the Government do as much as possible for you with other peoples money while hoping to maintain some semblance of freedom. Liberals
Oh! my, I can\'t make up my mind. Centrists
Your heart and mind as well as rights belong to the company store. Statist
Pick a church, any church as long as it is evangelical. Conservative
Did I leave any out? If I did I apologize!
Who do we need to keep our eyes on? The greed class, Liberal, Progressive, Statist, Marxist, Rino\'s and Cino\'s, birds of a feather. So if nothing else, the Nolan Chart is functioning as a target illuminator.

Conservatism has nothing to do with religion. I'm virulently anti-Christian, but I am also fiercely conservative. I don't have a problem with work, and I don't think I should be made to take care of people who don't want to take care of themselves. But this quiz was biased towards conservatism and libertarianism. As someone who associates with a lot of liberals, socialists, and Democrats, I can honestly say that for most of the questions none of the answers described them. Most of them would have been offended because the setup of the "liberal" answer made it look like they hate rich people or expect the government to do everything for them all the time, and I do not think that all people on the left believe that, at least not to the point of taxing rich people out of "richness" and policing everything that people say about reducing government's role.

Hi No Name Supplied,
History didn't begin the moment you had your first twinge of political interest. Proclaiming that your baseless hunch about conservatism can nullify centuries of history and the writings of great, Christian conservatives throughout the ages is simply ridiculous.
