As many of you know, the Nolan Chart website has been hit lately with a ton of new visitors, courtesy of Glenn Beck of Fox News. While we're grateful for all the new interest in the site (and our Nolan Chart survey), it's also taken a toll on our server's resources.
Today, to handle the dramatically increased traffic levels, I placed an order for a new, larger, dedicated server. It will have much faster processors and about eight times as much RAM as the current VPS. We expect it will be able to handle all the new traffic going forward and make us positioned well to handle the increased traffic coming as we get closer to the midterm elections and ultimately the presidential election of 2012.
We hope to have the new server provisioned and ready to go before this time tomorrow. So cross your fingers and toes, folks, because with any luck at all this problem of having an extremely slow website with periodic short outages will be a thing of the past!
To our newest visitors: thank you for your interest in the site, and please bear with us as we complete this transition. You'll like the site once you don't have to wait and wait for pages to pop up!

The beginning of the Political Wind-Storm... Thanks to the Glenn Beck Show. If my perception is correct I believe your new server is insufficient for the coming election cycles. With Glenn Becks documentaries with his huge audience 'Awakening', I believe most American are going to be spending more time researching/exploring who they are and who the politicians are as well.
