Good morning, and welcome to another thawing Spring day. Here is your news:

Prophet Rammell, the leader of Deseret, stated yesterday during a flyover inspection of artillery abandoned by the Republic of Aztlan Reconquistadores when they surrendered the Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Base to LDS Crusader forces two weeks ago that "The smoke from the Sodom that was Las Vegas still rises after God's divine retribution on that city courtesy of two holy ICBMs from Hill. As His servants we shall continue to serve as instruments of his will against any city which is held by the Aztlan invaders within our reach, and let me tell you, the Lord's reach knows no bounds!". In an interview with the BBC last night in Salt Lake City the official Council of Fifty spokesman refused to speculate on whether the airfield at Twenty-Nine Palms would be used to send out LDS Air Force strikes against Aztlan held San Diego or Los Angeles next. He did indicate, though, that the armor and artillery gained through the capitulation would be used to strengthen their campaign into California Del Norte. The Chinese ambassador to the U.N. warned the General Assembly last week that further territorial advancement of Deseret would inevitably lead to conflict with Chinese interests in the region. This follows several months of relative detente during which there has been no direct conflict between Deseret and the Chinese administrative authority since the LDS provided air support to New American forces during the Battle of Spokane. The Chinese have accused Mormon sympathizers in the mysterious explosion which sank a packed container ship entering San Francisco bay loaded with Chinese troops on leave from the Alaskan front, six weeks ago. Noone so far has claimed responsibility for the attack.

President Covel was on hand as the first Ford Reunion rolled off the assembly lines in a still largely depopulated Detroit Thursday, marking the resumption of U.S. car production following a three year suspension of new automobile manufacture during the crisis. As a no frills biodiesel powered four wheel drive mini-SUV for the civilian market, designed in cooperation with the Russian UAZ motorworks company, the Reunion is expected to offer some competition to the Renault, Volvo, and Volkswagon imports which began arriving alongside rebuilt Great Lakes docking facilities two months ago, marking the resumption of transatlantic trade between the European Union and New America. With the growing confidence in the gold standard dollar, standardized barter is being eclipsed by economic reinvestment which will see Ford's F-150 pickup truck line in production again next year, according to a company press release. The President took the opportunity to publicly award the posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom to eight members of the Michigan Militia for their wartime efforts in defending the citizens of the Motor City against the uprising, and specifically for their sacrificial fighting retreat during the daring evacuation of 280 White citizens through the Detroit/Windsor tunnel to Ontario. Over 30,000 still remain missing and presumed dead in the metropolitan Detroit area from the first year of Civil War Two.

The Israeli government in exile in New York is increasing land grant sign-on bonuses for volunteers to attempt an amphibious assault landing in the newly recognized nation of Greater Palestine, but even in the U.N. Occupied BosNYWash corridor they're getting few volunteers from surviving Jewish communities, and fewer still from Gentiles. In Brooklyn, a rabbi calling for Christians to defend against what he described as "A second Holocaust against God's chosen people" was attacked by a congregation leaving mass. After lynching the rabbi, the enraged mob continued to break the windows of and set fire to Jewish-owned businesses, before being dispersed by Chinese peacekeepers.

Headed South: The Arkansas State Guard, augmented by local militia and separatist groups, probed south of Interstate 30 last week, driving fifty miles deep into New African territory without encountering any organized resistance. Reports from similar sorties out of Tennessee and all along the border indicate a paralysis and power vacuum in the New African military, as civil unrest and anarchy have been reported throughout the lower Mississippi Valley. Reports of starvation and cannibalism in Vicksburg may be the result of infrastructural instability following what is rumored to have been the third internal coup in Atlanta so far this year. Self styled "Tribal Chief" Demarcus (Dubble D) Donroy, the military commander in charge of New African defenses in Jacksonville, stated in an interview with Cuban television news reporters recently that he was willing to open discussions on "mutual coexistence", widely considered to be code for New African withdrawal from Florida, if a cease fire could be brokered by the Aztlan government.. Donroy also stated in the interview that he felt a great calling to lead his soldiers to Atlanta "to clean house and restore peace and prosperity to my people". The Cuban Army has not yet officially responded, but has withdrawn their front lines from Gainesville to Ocala in an apparent gesture of good will. Chinese observers monitoring the Cuban Army's use of military weapons supplied to them following the opening of the Guantanamo Bay base to the Chinese Navy have volunteered to broker the cease fire agreement, in consideration of the ongoing relocation of the Aztlan government from Los Angeles to San Antonio.

In International News, this summer's World Cup competition in Dublin has been postponed due to six star members of the Italian squad being deployed to serve in Russia west of the Surgut salient. The season will be continued next year. The footballers are expected to have time to get some practice in, though, because the frozen ground is beginning to turn to muck, bogging down European Union advances north to south.

French President Le Pen praised ongoing cooperation between New America and the Republic of Quebec during her speech the night before last in Montreal, marking the first visit to North America by a European head of state since Civil War Two began.

Survivors from the limited Sino-Indian nuclear exchange which ended in the destruction of Delhi and New Delhi last fall are exhibiting classical long-term radiation poisoning illnesses as anticipated, according to British medical teams who have set up a hospital in Jaipur. More than two hundred thousand terminal cases, facing lingering death from cancers, have been formed into suicide brigades by the Indian Army and are fighting to regain control of Gurgaon. Although poorly armed and trained, their ferocity is exacting a terrible toll on Chinese expeditionary forces in the area.

In Mexico City, the loss of jobs and remittances have finally taken their toll on the national economy, forcing the national government to lease the nation's oil reserves to China in exchange for Beijing's pledge to support the interests of the Mexican people both above and below the Rio Grande.

The continental population of Africa has declined over the last three years precipitously, from its height at over a billion persons a decade ago, to back near the 1950 level of 220 million, according to a Red Cross International report issued from Paris. The study, including months of field research, concluded that the unchecked tribal warfare, starvation, and disease have left many former urban areas of the continent empty of human life, especially south of the Sahara. The extinction of some seven hundred million persons has unfolded while the rest of the world either watched helplessly, or has been distracted by their own problems.

Anti-Chinese riots in Brisbane have compelled the Australian Prime Minister to issue a formal apology on behalf of its citizens to their guests. The National Party of Australia in New South Wales has stepped up their assassinations of government officials whom they term as "Quislings", as has the One Nation party in Queensland, the actual area of Chinese military occupation. This escalation from electoral politics to guerrilla warfare following Australia's isolation from the remainder of the Western world except for New Zealand is not expected to defuse anytime soon. So far eleven members of parliament and six government ministers have been killed, along with dozens of police officers. Twenty-one Chinese naval personnel died three weeks ago when a barge carrying a large homemade bomb rammed an Armidale class patrol boat that had recently been commandeered at the HMAS Cairns naval base.

More turmoil looms in South America as Venezuelan attempts to pacify Bogata lead to reprisals from the Fuerza de Liberation Columbiano cartel administration in Cali. Peruvian Air Force strikes against FLC laboratories and warehouses have weakened the cartel's hold on the former Columbian capitol, but Venezuelan troops are still seen as invaders, rather than liberators, by most citizens there. Ecuador has vowed to maintain their neutrality.

Tune in after the break for weather forecasts for all regions of New America and surrounding territories, following this important message from Ford Motor Company. Ford: "We're back on the road."
