I'm glad you brought this up! I read the NewsMax piece and did a little web surfing as well, and here are a couple of thoughts:
First, this is purely "guilt by association." Ron Paul has many supporters who don't agree with him on every issue, and of course Dr. Paul does not agree with every one of his supporters -- nor is it remotely reasonable to insist that he make a statement addressing every difference of opinion that he may have with each of them.
That summarizes Ron Paul's position on border security and on immigration reform. You won't find any agreement there with the "open letter items" that Tancredo takes issue with.
Of course, the fact that Ron Paul has such a broad base of support even among people that don't agree with him on every detail just goes to show you that he is more "electable" than any other Republican candidate. He's our only realistic shot at beating "the Hildabeast".
Finally, it kinda sounds like "sour grapes" to me -- you did note which of these two presidential candidates dropped out of the race a couple of days ago to back Romney, right? :) Not too surprising - check out my article about the San Diego Republican Straw Poll ... and note Tancredo's score?
BTW, you can find another reasonable response to the Tancredo allegations here:
I wrote one specially for today, you can find it near the top of that list... let me know what you think! :) If you like 'em give me a "thumbs up" on each one you like... :)
Thanks for writing! :) We really oughta get together for lunch again one of these days, eh?
Blessings!
