America Overrun: The Illegal Invasion of the United States

America is being invaded, here and now, as we speak, by millions of illegal aliens who pour over our porous Southern border with Mexico.

The United States is being invaded, here and now, as we speak. This invasion has been going on for decades; illegal aliens have been illegally entering the United States for some time now. And yet, our politicians refuse to do anything about it, seemingly because they fear a backlash from Hispanic voters. The case of illegal immigration is a classic case of politicians putting votes and their own self-interests above national security and the Constitution itself.

President George W. Bush defended his lenient stance on illegal immigration by saying that he was "from Texas" (since when does that mean you have to support illegal immigration?) and that he understood them because he lived around them. His statements on the issue seemed to be intentionally vague, as to confuse voters and not make it look like he supported the illegal invaders when he actually did. However, President Bush isn't the only offender. No, he is but one of a myriad of politicians who have disgraced these United States by subjugating our national security in order to garner votes from Hispanics and others who are sympathetic to the invaders.

If our elected leaders continue to look the other way on this vital issue of national security, the country itself may indeed collapse. Our ailing systems, whether they be health care or infrastructure, simply cannot handle this massive influx of people. Already, hospitals across the Southwest have gone bankrupt because illegal aliens show up at emergency rooms looking for care, but not intending to pay for it. We used to have immigration quotas in the past so that these types of things wouldn't be a problem, but now we have thousands of people streaming across our porous border, and the government has no control over who comes here and how many come here.

Our economy also suffers as a result of the illegal invasion, and therefore, by extension, the American worker and his family. While greedy businessmen hail the immigrants' willingness to work for next to nothing, Americans are losing their jobs. After all, why hire an American who demands fair pay when you can hire an illegal Guatemalan who demands nothing? The supporters of the illegal immigrants respond to this by saying "the jobs these people take are the jobs Americans simply won't do, so it doesn't really matter".

Since when were there a class of jobs that Americans simply would not do? Americans take some of the filthiest (and also most essential) jobs there are. Americans are garbagemen, fruit pickers, sewage workers, janitors, maids, and other things. Yet, illegal aliens keep taking these jobs and displacing Americans who once had them. This has nothing to do with Americans' work ethic. It all boils down to money - businessmen who value profit more than they do patriotism will see no problem in hiring an illegal immigrant if it saves them money. That is the problem - it has nothing to do with our workers' disdain for certain jobs.

Swift and immediate action needs to be taken to stem the tide of illegal aliens pouring into the United States. First and foremost, we need to build the border wall/fence. The same fence, by the way, which is already supposed to be built, but instead is being erected at less than a snail's pace. We also need to put into place stricter penalties for employers who are caught knowingly employing illegal aliens. The third, and most vital step, is to return the millions of illegal immigrants already here to their home countries.

I know I will draw sharp criticism for supporting mass deportations, but that is was is just and what should be done. It would certainly be a massive undertaking, but it is something that is well overdue and should've happened years ago (It actually happened once before, as part of the badly named "Operation Wetback"). For if we do not deport the parasitic illegal population living under the radar in the United States, we only have two choices: either ignore them and continue to turn the other way, or grant them all citizenship.

While it would probably be much easier to just give citizenships away, it is not the right thing to do. First of all, it would make our national government appear weak, because it would look like we cannot enforce our laws and are just giving up because we don't want to have to deal with getting rid of them. This would only increase illegal immigration, because the propsective migrants would no longer fear getting caught. They may be punished by a slap on the wrist, but if they know they'll eventually get their citizenship, they, in all likelihood, wouldn't care.

Second of all, if we granted all illegals amnesty, it would be a major disservice to those who went through all the trouble of actually coming here legally. They would feel angry, and rightly so, because they had to do all the paperwork associated with legal immigration essentially for nothing. They could've just as easily snuck across the border under the cover of darnkess, and they would've ended up with the same end result.

Therefore, we must take it upon ourselves as a nation to kick out those who do not belong here and kick out the politicians who support them. This is America, and while we are a nation of immigrants, it must be kept in mind that we are a nation of legal immigrants. Aliens and immigrants are not the same thing, and unless the "one world no borders" types learn this, we will continue to have this problem. Only when people recognize the threat posed by illegal immigration will they stand up and act.

Although E-Verify is a very good illuminated measure, as seen through the eyes of every jobless American. It is a successful program that implements the need to remove millions of illegal immigrants from the work force. It is still under peril of being scratched-out or at the least, slowly dragged down to the faltering level of the local law enforcement training program 287 G? There are and have always have been powerful forces at work to reduce immigration enforcement, even as other entities are  trying to weaken health care legislation. Personages in high places, whether it's the multi-billion dollar health insurance industry, or pull-down-the-border fence extremists whose agenda is welcoming anybody who can slip past our border agents.

Then we have the accumulation of impoverished illegal aliens, who are in direct competition with our own poverty stricken society. They have not only stolen jobs from blue collar workers, but are taking jobs in the white collar business world as well. This is why we need a moratorium on immigration, to give AmericaCalifornia, Arizona, along with other states dry to the point of bankruptcy.

President Obama and his pro-illegal immigrant disciples have promised another Immigration reform package. The 1986 Act was signed in to law by Ronald Reagan, but was never--ENFORCED--and so that is why we have absolute crisis and an incessant flow of illegal foreign nationals. The numbers are estimated in entrants  around 20 and 30 million, not what open border and liberal activists expect us to believe? NO IMMIGRATION LAW EVER WAS MEANT TO WORK?  Its only because Sen. Harry Reid, Speaker Pelosi made an error of judgment that  E-Verify was not tabled?  Today everybody knows about E-Verify, owing to the wealth of information that was exposed by Internet bloggers. It has become a sharp stick in the eye to parasite businesses and every movement in the open border culture. Have not the taxpayers been paying the full burden of subsidizing free health care, education and the tentacles of ever spreading welfare programs for illegal families? America is perceived to be a passionate people, a charitable people, but when we must endure the hardships sprung upon us by other foreign countries population, that this is too much financial baggage to carry any longer.

In Arizona for instance where a newsworthy report has been released:
time to climb out of this gigantic recession. Illegal immigrants must be deported through the computer mechanism of E-verify, and later when employment rises and the economy is stable, build on the 1986 Immigration act (ICRA). With amendments to Simpson/Mazzoli bill that allows a system of only accepting certain categories of scientific and professional immigrants. We can no longer accept the destitute, uneducated who have sucked the state treasuries of

Governor Jan Brewer and Republican leaders lashed out last Tuesday at the League of Arizona Cities and Towns for its lawsuit challenging a new law in order to eliminate illegal immigrants receiving public benefits. He said,

"At a time when Arizona is suffering from budget deficits of unprecedented proportions and the state is struggling to meet the basic needs of its citizens, it is outrageous and shocking that the League of Cities and Towns would challenge legislation designed to protect the very entities that it was intended for," Brewer also stated Arizona voters have shown several times, starting with the 2004 election, that they do not want taxpayer money going to help those in the country illegally. AS HAVE CALIFORNIA VOTERS, WITH THE FILING OF PROPOSITION 176, TO STOP WELFARE GOING TO ILLEGAL ALIENS? IT WAS SILENTLY DERAILED--NEVER TO REACH THE HIGHER COURT OF THE LAND.

This proves beyond any doubt, that millions of illegal immigrants are siphoning off government entitlements meant for the legal inhabitants across our country, which is causing near economic collapse of state, county and city treasuries.

Where another MASS AMNESTY is concerned, it is not those already illegally living here--but the unfettered volumes of humanity who will try to steal into America, before the--FINAL AMNESTY BELL--TOLLS?  If the border is far from secure now, who will stop those who decide to immigrate here? The scenario is scary and beyond imagination and a harbinger of uncontrolled overpopulation.  A boon to businesses and   anti-American radical consortium’s, open border subversives, the wealthy and certain Democratic lawmakers looking for extra votes.

Those who believe in America’s survival, without OVERPOPULATION as stated by the US Census bureau better read facts, not the lies at NUMBERSUSA. Those who want details of corruption in WASHINGTON and state government go to JUDICIAL WATCH. Overpopulation, traffic hell should go to CAPSWEB. Other sites of interest on Immigration enforcement is ALIPAC and AMERICAN PATROL. We the people have the ultimate power to throw out anti-sovereignty incumbent politicians. Call and command these do-nothings to--STOP--this facade at 202-224-3121.

Instead of "This invasion has been going on for decades" you should put "invasion has  been going for a little over 600 years"...

unless you're a native american, you have no more right than me to be here.. If i leave, 200 americans will loose their jobs, another 500's payroll will be affected..

and there is no legal way for me to get legal..

And my entire response is :

"So?"

Freedom means the free movements of capital, products...and labor.  I'll take the free movement and voluntary choices of people in a market over artificial boundaries any day.

Alexander Massa's essay should not appear under the "libertarian" category on this site, as the author is expressing a very un-libertarian viewpoint.

Excepting trespass on private property (which entire countries are not), peaceful freedom of movement is a basic human right. Seeking to forcibly prevent it is an initiation of force and a violation of the Non-Aggression Principle which is the heart of libertarianism.

An "invasion" is a term used to describe a hostile entry. But the people entering the United States without U.S. government permission are generally coming simply with the intention to work and make better lives for themselves and their families due to a lack of opportunity in the places they come from.

Complaints about "illegal immigration" that pretend to be fine with legal immigration are disingenuous. If it was really the illegality that bothers them, the solution couldn't be simpler -- make it legal for anyone to enter the country. But somehow the anti-immigrant commentators always overlook this solution, because that's what they really are -- anti-immigrant, not anti-illegal.

Ironically, under the highest law of the land, the so-called "illegals" are not actually breaking the law. In fact it is the federal government that is breaking the law by attempting to criminalize them. That's because there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution allowing the Feds to regulate immigration.

Except for the migration or importation of slaves prior to 1808, the Constitution does not delegate the power to the national government to control who crosses into the various states. The Constitution authorizes only the power to regulate *naturalization*, which is the process of becoming a U.S. citizen.

The economic arguments typically advanced against immigrants are spurious, because the average native-born American receives more money in government benefits than the average American immigrant. The problem is the government welfare state itself. That is where the blame lies, not with the people who avail themselves of legally offered largess.

Anyone who uses government services such as roads, postal system, college loans, mortgage loans, Social Security benefits beyond what they paid into the system, etc., is in no position to point fingers at those who use emergency hospital services, whether those persons were born in the United States or not.

Saying that those who go through all the hassle of coming here legally would be angry if people were simply allowed in freely, also has a simple solution -- stop making it so complicated to enter legally. Those who had to go through the process should receive an official letter of apology from the U.S. government and a refund of monies paid. The abuse they suffered in the course of trying to move from one part of the earth's surface to another in search of an honest living is no excuse for continuing to abuse others.

Undocumented migrants are not a "threat" to anyone except bigots and government officials who seek to exercise control over our lives. People afraid of honest competition for jobs should seek to make it easier for people including new migrants to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses without all the taxes, fees, and red tape, so that more new arrivals would become employers and job creators rather than employees and wage earners.

It's not that immigrants are unwilling to work -- on average, they have a much stronger work ethic than native-born Americans. And if you go to their countries of origin, you will typically see self-employed people engaging in many small businesses -- street vendors, taxi drivers, cobblers, etc. But those businesses have usually been effectively criminalized here, as a form of subsidy to larger and more established businesses that don't want the competition.

The libertarian promise of America is of a free country where all are welcome, not a gated community that tries to shut out the poor, the marginalized, and the unwanted. No government has the right to tell you that you cannot enter a country. Even if you are a wanted violent criminal, the correct approach is to bring you to trial, not to violate your human rights. If you have a severe communicable disease, the correct approach is to put you in quarantine and make treatment available to the degree the free market allows, not send you back where you came from to infect other people.

If the United States were to ever become a police state, or descend into poverty, and you wanted the opportunity to relocate to a place where you could earn a decent living, you would not want other governments telling you that your country had exceeded its quota and treating you like a criminal for wishing to go there and work.

Starchild, you couldn't be more wrong. These people are illegally entering the United States, and as a patriotic American, I am opposed to them. I am a libertarian in addition to being a nationalist; I am by no means an internationalist.

If these people want to come here and work, they can do it, legally. My grandparents came here from Italy in the late '50s, and they did it legally and had to deal with the quota system. They didn't just come here under the cover of darkness floating on a raft. No, they did it the right way.

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding when it comes to illegal immigration. You make it sound like they are legal immigrants, when they are in fact not. I don't see how keeping illegal aliens out of our country turns it into a "police state".

Santos Rugiero,

If you knew anything about Italy or Italians, which you obviously don't, you would know that the Mafia is a very small group of Sicilian criminals. My family is not Sicilian, therefore any reference to the Mafia is a ludicrous assertion.

And I find it kind of funny that you call my ancestors "crime prone". Have you looked at Mexico recently? Your corrupt government has no power over it's own country. Mexico is run by the drug lords. People are gunned down every day by the drug cartels. So what does that make your ancestors (and descendants, too), peaceful?

The problem is the legal land illegal immigration and not only the illegal immigration. I have also a minor disagreement with what was said that the USA being a Nation of Immigrants.

The truth is that  this Country was built by Whites (Europeans) and  I consider them as discoverers and builders and not immigrants even though they came from Europe. Moreover, the United States has always being White with the exception of the Native \"Americans\" and the presence of  the Africans brough here.

The USA started becoming an immigrant Country when it opened the doors too wide to the people of the third world who came here after having granted that right and also by whatever illegal means, including the lies about fake refugee claims, fake student, fake visitor visa and the easiest fraudulent marriages, scams still all going on now and all blessed by our federal ,states and local officials.

I took note of Mr. Massa\'s reply to Santos Rugiero and I would like to add that as an Italo-American myself I feel  offended by the irresponbile blanket  defamations by this individual.

The fact is that Rugiero is part of our problems in this Country and the last person to downgrade others. I have a huge bag of worms on him and his tribe however he\'s lucky that this is not the forum for me to open it and spill it out.

First of all, Give me a lawyer to work with me and I will file charges of treason in the nearest US DISTRICT COURT asap....

Lets see if this gives a little more understanding, that both Obama, Kagan, and others were part of a well thought out plan by leading democrats years ago.

First a little on kagan;
Will Kagan follow in that rich liberal tradition?.
What is known is the President's habit for tapping leaders who
will help him realize his social revolution for America. Although
Kagan's resume includes very little in the way of published writings, we
do know that she based her undergrad thesis on socialism in the U.S. To
be fair, the paper was written three decades ago--but there's no
mistaking her disappointment that "labor radicalism" didn't
gain a lot of political traction.

A little on obama now: Basically unknown, resume locked away..

Bonus AG Holder: Can we believe anything he says, I mean it's not like he reads anything.. How' did he get through school?
Seriously, what do we know about any of these people, who are in the highest level of offices in which they can alter the direction our country is going or should be going?
Seriously, think about this for a minute... Democrats have always been open for open boarders, in the last 20 years it has sky rocketed. Add to that, they have written bills into law the anchor baby clauses, welfare and even schooling, basically America is foster parenting. Providing for others with in the grand scheme of things makes sense.
By doing so the country has spent billions upon billions in supporting. The entire time watching out national debt go higher and higher.
So now we are in economic trouble ( disaster really) and still the constant flow of those becoming adopted. Okay now back up and add all that to the long time goal of Socializing.

Right now Obama has remained silent except for a lame ass joke at the dinner. He is not seeing this as a problem rather things falling into place.

Then go even further in this little walk. It is fairly clear he is not of Christian Faith. He has also been photographed during the Pledge and even the National Anthem not standing tall and saluting or placing his hand on his heart, which is only proper considering so many lives have been lost over the years so he could be in the position he is in.

SO all that he ( Obama)has done since taking office is essentially desecrating on the graves of the few the proud the fallen.
