Yet you probably love them still...how sad. by Dan Steward

Think of yourself as nothing more than a commodity, a cow that may be milked through taxation, fines, user fees or whatever else Leviathan sees fit to impose upon you in this particular moment in time. Now that you've thought of it, please know that it is exactly what you live under. Your work, and likewise what you earn from it, is not yours to control.
If you are curious as to why it would be so, please also note that it is because as an ordinary person, the state has contempt for you. You are simply hated by the government and if you are the foolish or just misinformed sort that loves the state's involvement in your life, then you'd do well to quickly resolve yourself of the fact that it is at best, an unrequited relationship.
It is not capable by default, of caring about you as an individual, due mostly to its one-size-fits-nobody solutions that tend to penalize just for breathing air, everyone unfortunate enough to labor under such a regime. It expects you to know every single one of the millions of laws, ordinances, and statutes on the books as "ignorance of the law is no excuse". All the while it also treats you as you were a child on matters you would likely know better how to deal with yourself as an adult. The government does not trust you because it does not like you. Do you like people you don't trust? Do you trust people you don't like? Of course you don't, except when it comes to the gang that flies a flag as they always seem to get a pass.
Customer satisfaction is not a concern of the agent of the state when they have a monopoly on any given service; it is what clearly plagues it. The threat of force for non-compliance is what drives the machine, not your happiness which should be tantamount to a replacement system that the free market would otherwise offer to such an onerous system.
More disturbing still is that you may not totally divorce yourself from this hateful partner. It has these pesky claims on you that are oftentimes hard to shake off with any measure of ease and never a guarantee of success. You are however free to limit when you can, its meddling in your affairs, yet this takes conscious action on your part to make it so.

i liked this. dan, if you honestly feel this way about the individuals who people our government (and perhaps the lobbyists and special interests which keep those individuals in power), then begin advocating for the Article V Convention, because it's the only thing they fear, and the only thing that will create a balance of power that is currently lacking.
