Rand Paul "I've been a Kentuckian longer than Grayson's been a Republican!"
Trey Grayson calls Rand an outsider, Rand Responds by Aaron Bellyacher

The Senate race in Kentucky is heating up, and the self described front-runner Trey Grayson apparently is feeling the fire under his seat and is boiling up under the pressure from the upstart Republican Rand Paul's campaign.
Trey recently started serving up softballs to the Paul campaign, launching attacks about Rand being an outsider and how his voting in the Republican primary since 1993 does not merit him to be a representative of the conservative Kentuckian.
Strange and desperate attacks are easily hit out of the park by Rand, quickly responding with what amounts to a walk off home run in one short sentence "I've been a Kentuckian longer than Grayson's been a Republican!"
For those who don't remember, Mr. Grayson was actively campaigning for Bill Clinton way back in the 90's when Trey was a Democrat.
Also worth noting, Mr. Grayson is financially supported by 17 Republican Senators who voted for the bailouts, so we can thank Trey and his buddies for all the economic success we're having right now.
Funny, I have looked at the webpages of both candidates and I can't find anything Trey believes in, but Rand's website is full of hard positions on all the issues. I guess if I was Trey, I would do the same thing. Don't say anything that would force you to have convictions and principles. Do anything to win, and maybe you will get to go join the conviction and principleless gang on the hill. Seems about right
Until this year. We're not going to let these fair weather Republican's sell us out anymore. If you are a Republican, then act like one. Mr. Grayson, you are the outsider. We will stick with people we know.
Here is a great video about this issue, it is very short and has both candidates

This was probably these most bizar way to attack Rand. If that's the best Grayson's got, then hopefully that means Rand is very competitive.
We desperately need an honest person in the US Senate, and as far as I can tell, Rand is the only persono who's got a chance at winning. But it's a good chance.
On November 5th, 2009 the world will see how we have grown; how we are mobilizing; how we are fighting the electoral battles on all fronts; how we are determined to restore respect for the US Constitution; and integrity to our system of government.
All candidates at www.ThisNovember5th.com believe in the Constitution, Freedom, and Rule of Law. For most, this is their first time to run for public office. Let's kick out the people that got us into this mess and take our country back!
Do something worthy of telling your grandchildren - Be a part of it.
That is crazy talk for Trey Grayson to slander Rand Paul ....after all, one can't choose where one is born...it is how and what you belive in that is important. It is your virtues, and your beliefs that are important...not the geography!!

This shows that Grayson was expecting a cake walk to the nomination, and he's not at all prepared for any serious contest in the Republican primary. After all, he's the choice of the country-clubbers, so why would he imagine any different?
Trey Grayson is up against a man who's smart enough to make it through medical school and develop a successful opthalmology practice. A man who's been studying the history, philosophy, and economics of freedom since he was a small boy. A man who can run rings around everything the apparatchiks are going to throw at him. I almost feel sorry for him.
