Today, September 3rd, was a busy day as the campaign starts kicking into gear. Ivisited the incumbent's town hall in Emmaus, sat in the front row and raised my hand for 90 minutes. One woman sitting to me said, "Wasn't your arm tired?" I told her, I wouldn't tire as long as the Constitution is under attack and gave her my business card.
For lunchtime, I had an AWESOME sandwich at American Sandwich Company in Coopersburg and met a few more residents.
In the afternoon, I took a bus to a Anti-Cap N Trade rally with a cheerful busload of Tea Partiers, and met U.S. Senate candidate Peg Luksik, whom I recommend to people to take a look at. I was very pleased with both her directness and content of her replies tomy toughest questions. Her website is here.
During the day, one man asked me if I knew what my job description was. In reply, I took out my pocket Constitution and showed him Article 1, Section 8. We talked a bit more on it, and he approved of my answers. One more vote for next November! Here is my job description after my election:
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;
To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;
To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;
To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;
To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;
To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;
To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations;
To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;
To provide and maintain a Navy;
To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;
To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;
To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings; And
To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

It is obvious you have not read the Constitution nor clearly understand it. You have listed your "job description." It is woefully short and incorrect. A few examples will prove what I mean.
Article II--The Congress may determine the time of chusing the electors and the day on which they shall vote
Article I--The House of Representatives...shall have the sole power of Impeachment
Article V--Congress shall call a convention on the application of two-thirds of the state legislatures. Also of course right to propose amendments as member of Congress
(This last one seems to be ignored by everyone in Congress including you even though the government has already admitted to do is a criminal violation of oath of office not to call a convention.)
Article VI--The...represenatives..shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation to support this Constitution.
Equally important your job description includes knowledge of powers you don't have.
First Amendment--Congress shall make no law...
Second Amendment-The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed
Third Amendment-Prescription of occupation of homes by armed troops during times of war
Article III--The judicial power shall be vested...in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. This means you as a member of Congress can eliminate such bogus court powers as "standing to sue" thus giving the courts the power to decide which parts of the Constitution shall be enforced.
Article III--Congress shall have power to declar punishment of treason but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood or Forfeiture
Amendment XII--The counting of ballots for election of president and vice president and if there is a tie, voting to choose a president
Amendment XIII--Enforcement of prohibition against slavery
Amendment XIV--Enforcement of 14th Amendment
Amendment XV--Enforcement of 15th Amendment--right to vote
Amendment XVI--Regulation of income tax
Amendment XIX--Enforcement of right to vote denied on account of sex
Amendment XXIII--Regulation of electors from Washington DC
Amendment XXIV--Regulation of poll tax prohibiting the same
Amendment XV--Determination of if and when a president can remain in office if incapacitated
Amendment XXVI--Right to vote for age 18 enforcement thereof
Amendment XXVII--Limitation on pay and enforcement of the same (which we all know Congress ignores)
Point is Mr. Towne you obviously don't know your job description.
