What the hell is wrong with America? Have people gotten so complacent and ignorant that they are willing to relinquish all control and surrender their well being to the state? Remember a time when you were responsible for yourself and your family? Remember a time when people took responsibility for their own actions? Well….I don’t. This country has been in a downward spiral for longer than I have been alive. We are so far gone that people are actually accepting this corrupt, thieving, lying, murderous, tyrannical, corporate fascist state, as a leader. Some of you will call me unpatriotic or un-American for the things I am about to say. However, as George Orwell said, " In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." And to those who wish to speak negatively about my dissent, I will tell you that opposing corruption in government is the highest obligation of a patriot.
I would like to begin with why our founding fathers and the original colonists risked torture and death. They did so risk their lives to bring forth the most highly evolved form of government in the history of man, and still is to date, a Constitutional Republic. A constitutional republic is a state where the head of state and other officials are elected as representatives of the people, and must govern according to existing constitutional law that limits the government's power over citizens. That, my friends, was our form of government. That was what this country was founded upon. So many people are brainwashed with this idea of democracy. So many people think our forefathers gave their lives to fight for democracy.
Democracy is rule by the people, or mob rule, meaning 51 percent of the population tells the other 49 percent what they have to do. This is great for the 51 percent of people, but it is slavery for the other 49 percent. Democracy is the government of sheep, the government of easily swayed masses of idiots. What better form of government for tyrants than democracy. In this "Democracy" the tyrants can legally take away your freedom; they only have to convince 51 percent of the sheep out there to be successful at oppressing you. Democracy is the mask on the face of imperialism and oppression.
Our forefathers realized the error of democracy and therefore came up with a list of inalienable rights to which every human being was born with, i.e. the Bill of Rights. These were the only laws and the states granted power to a small federal government in order to protect these rights. This is what is called a Constitutional Republic. However, due to complacency, distraction, lack of concern, and mental degradation, these inalienable rights are no longer recognized as inalienable, they are mere obstacles on a path to tyranny.
We have gotten so caught up trying to tell the other side (republican or democrat) what to do, that we have lost sight of what we are really supposed to be doing and that is practicing and protecting freedom. First off there is no difference between republicans and democrats except for the fact that the left is for war if with big government, and the right is for big government if with war. Both sides of this two party dictatorship accomplish the same thing; expand government, perpetuate war, and attack liberties. How can the right be Pro Life and Pro war at the same time, do you not see the contradiction? And how can the left be Pro Choice and Pro ban on tobacco, ban on trans fat, ban on (insert personal choice here) do you not see the contradiction here either? The sooner you wake up and realize that George Bush and Barrack Obama are both pro war, pro Wall Street, and puppets of Imperialist elites, the sooner we can take back our lives from the oppressive control of this Corpratocracy.
We are at a crisis of consciousness in this country and a revolution is at hand. This revolution will not be a violent civil war or attack on government buildings but instead a peaceful awakening of the individual to this slavery. After all none are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free. However the second amendment is there for a reason, as John F. Kennedy once said, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." That is why there is gun control, because the state must fear its citizens that are not reliant and dependent upon the false security of the state. The state fearing its citizens is how government should work properly, but corruption, thievery, and murder are not proper. This is why all great fascist states disarmed their populations before they were absolutely powerful, Mao, Adolf, Joseph, Fidel, and Kim, to name a few, all anti-gun. To quote Ben Franklin, "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch, Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote." This is why I protect the right to bear arms, not for some backwoods bullying reason, but because with guns we are citizens of this country and without them we are subjects to this country.
So now we are pitted against each other by different means of mainstream media arguing over irrelevant issues. The media in this country is doing exactly what they are supposed to do, divide, in order for us to be conquered. Debates today are nothing more than one individual spouting off his party’s talking points against the other individual spouting off his party’s rebuttals. Infatuation with the irrelevant is the doorway to tyranny. The masses being kept in a perpetual state of fear and ridicule allows those whom control government to clinch the iron fist even tighter.
I think of myself as a caring person who would do no harm to anyone unless said person is going to harm me. That being said, state controlled health care should not even be an issue. Approximately half of the nation is for it so they will be pretty happy if they get it. But what does that say and do about the other half? Forget about the entire half of the nation and narrow it down to one person that is opposed. If this one person does not want to support other people’s health care but is mandated to, that is not only fascist, but oppression and theft! I am not going any deeper into health care than this because that would be an entire paper on its own. Still, I will offer my solution and this will apply to all mandatory taxes that individuals are forced to pay in order to finance the wants of others. If you are the one that wants it, then you are the one that should pay it. Using government to bully the minority into financing your ideological beliefs is tyranny. Liberty is not bought and freedom is not financed and an individual’s right to be secure in his own belongings is exactly that. Any impediment of self security is tyranny.
It is all too unfortunate that we as a country are forced by our government to finance things that we do not want to. Taxation without representation was what the revolutionary war was fought over and we are so far passed that stage it is shameful. The IRS uses militant means of collecting the government’s money, if you do not pay, you go to jail. This is not freedom. Compulsory support of a war, or the police state, or private jets for senators is NOT LIBERTY! We are financing our own slavery. We are willingly accepting serfdom as reality and praising it as it happens.
As I sit here and watch my 8 week old son sleep, I can hardly do anything but contemplate his future. Will his future be a free one, a true free one? Not these lies that we live now, will he live a true lack of restriction where he can do or say or believe whatever he wishes as long as he causes no one harm? Or will his future be unwelcoming? Will it be a government run Stasi police state, where kids rat out there grandparents for talking about the way things used to be? Will we correct our direction and get off this path of despotism and totalitarian rule? To paraphrase Fredrick Douglas, will the limits of these tyrants be proscribed by the endurance of the oppressed? For the future of my son and for the future of all mankind, I surely do hope so.

A friend of mine wrote a while back that the founders were terrified of democracy and considered the concept like two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for lunch. I agree with that. There are many places and milestones over the course of our history that point to why our government has become as disfunctional as it is relative to the constraints placed upon our leaders by the founders and the Constitution. Throughout it all only we the people are the ones at fault for allowing it to be so. And only we the people are the ones that can change the way it is and take our country back. Perhaps the lies and deciet of the past few Presidents and Congresses have finally primed the pump enough for enough of us to believe that the current political class of the two major parties are no longer capable of even realizing our best interests, let alone, operate on our behalf. Maybe we can finally use our heads, take responsibility and dump the whole lot! Mike

Nice piece. It's a tough pill to swallow, but the Republic is dead and has been for quite some time, at least since the Korean War. That said, call me an optimist, but I firmly believe the Republic can be restored. If you haven't read this yet, it's worth a gander
Thank You. It's really simple if people would just wake up and read the constitution and bill of rights and history. Funny how to some that just all seems like some silly old fairy tale these days.
Call me a sacralidge but Jesus died for our sins and our founding fathers died for our freedoms and we are just throwing it away.

Kerston, we are throwing it all away. However I think the 'throwers away' are getting much smaller and the 'restorers' are getting larger by the day!
Article V: No state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.
States retain the authority to nullify the 17th Amendment, which was used to create the democracy that entrenched DNC and the RNC in power creating the Democracy that is destroying our country.
States are now invoking their 10th Amendment rights to ward against Federally imposed socialist movement that is the full expression and consequence of Democracy. Their next logical step to asserting their rights, as well as ours, is to renounce the Sitting 17th Amendment Senate as non representative of their interests or their voice. By proclamation of that fact and their Constitutional right under Article 5, they reclaim their Senate and seat representatives conducive to their will, thus putting us back on the path of restoring our liberty and Republic.
Another advantage of 17th Amendment nullification is that it will almost totally destroy the DNC and RNC's moneyed power base as Senate campaign funding, which fuels their structures, dries up. This will also restore politics to the local/state level and away from the national/federal.
I am aware of the 10th Amendment rights movement, Oklahoma seems to be the most advanced as far as declaration of states rights is concerned. They are constantly proposing it in their house and it gets more and more support each time.
