Chastened by Steorn's Lawyers As I continue to read, study, and write about Steorn's training materials, company lawyers apparently are watching to be sure I don't violate my NDA.by creator

I learned recently (the "hard way," which is how I seem to learn most things!) that Steorn is quite sensitive about certain specifics related to their plans. In my last article on this topic, I "let slip" (completely unintentionally, I hasten to mention!) certain details about the number of training modules and about the tentative release schedule for new training modules. The very next day I received an email from Steorn, written by Sean himself.
Sean was very gentlemanly about the matter, simply pointing out that I had violated one of the terms of the Non-Disclosure Agreement that we've signed. Furthermore, Sean hastened to assure me that Steorn is not attempting to censor what I write, or to dictate my conclusions.
I know that Sean is NOT a lawyer because he quite candidly admitted that he had not read in any detail the portion of the agreement which I seem to have violated, and so I imagine Steorn's lawyers watch for news reports to appear (Hello lads! :) and then take whatever action may be appropriate.
"The issue that we have specifically relates to your blog including the dates and number of modules and so on. The dates are highly confidential."
My very first act having read Sean's email was to go back to my article and amend the offending portion, removing all the specifics that Sean had pointed out. Only then did I reply to Sean to let Steorn know that I had no thought of intentionally violating the agreement, and expressing my appreciation for the gentle way in which Sean had responded.
In the course of briefly corresponding with Sean I also mentioned the relatively recent revelation that disclosures to The 300 will be confined to methods of "decoupling CEMF from torque for electromagnet interactions" rather than "controlling the response time of magnetic materials" -- Steorn's originally announced technology.
"I have been a bit disappointed by the discovery that in this training series we'll be dealing with electromagnetic effects rather than permanent magnets; however, as it turns out, that is closer to my own native field of expertise and so I am still quite looking forward to learning new things."
Sean's response was quite encouraging in that regard. Without releasing details, what I heard him say was that the CEMF method will be disclosed first because it is somewhat easier to grasp and to apply. However, the PM (permanent magnet) method will be disclosed to The 300 after Steorn feels that the EM method has been understood. One of Sean's comments to me about the PM method was quite telling:
"...we also understand that it appeals in the 'thats what a perpetual motion machine should look like' way."
Indeed! :)
I know that there is a sizable population who, somewhat like myself, are anxious for news about Steorn and it's fascinating Orbo technology. It is my hope to keep you as informed as possible - within the constraints of my agreement with Steorn and of the time I have available. It takes several hours to do a creditable job of writing each of these articles -- time "borrowed" from other activities -- but I know that if I were "on the outside" I would be rather intently wanting to "peer in!"
The SKDB and associated forums have been very entertaining and educational so far. Each module takes about ten to fifteen minutes to thoughtfully complete. including answering the five quiz questions at the end. Steorn has presented one of their training modules as a sample on their website, and you can "take it for a spin" here if you like:
The training modules, which I have now mostly completed, have proven to be a useful refresher course, bringing basic physics and engineering concepts "back into focus" at an opportune time. I now feel somewhat better prepared to delve into the occult* world of Steorn knowledge -- whenever they may choose to release the final modules that present what they claim to be their company's "family jewels," i.e. intellectual property related to Steorn's Orbo technology.
What lies ahead? I can't help but wonder whether the competing technologies already in the public literature that make similar claims are really no different from Steorn. For example, please look at this comprehensive description of a machine that is purported to effectively counteract the effects of Lenz Law. We should have some idea at least, before too long.
Although I cannot expose any proprietary technical details gleaned from my study of the confidential SKDB materials, I intend to try and convey at least a sense of my experience to you, my readers, and to continue be, if not an unbiased reporter, at least a reporter who will express my best evaluation of what I see and who will inform you of the biases that I recognize in myself. I feel that that is the least I can do as one of "The Steorn 300" and I hope you'll stay tuned as this adventure continues.
I found Sean's parting remarks quite personally encouraging:
"Again I would like to say many thanks for your input and the open mind - I/we have no problems with you posting your views (good/bad/indifferent) - its just the specifics that cause concern."
Sean, I would like to say many thanks both to you and to Steorn as a company for inviting me along on this ride. I'll try to avoid publishing any specifics while trying to keep my audience "in the loop" as well as I'm able. I think we all very much look forward to what's ahead!

Thanks for another great update. I look forward to hearing how this develops. I am the manager of www.WantToKnow.info, which has a good section on new energy technologies. I'm also good friends with Sterling Allan who runs the excellent peswiki.com new energy website. You take care.
Your website looks quite interesting, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I've been aware of PESWiki for some time now, and appreciate it as a comprehensive resource. Some of my experiments were published there a few years ago. I have a friend in my local area who is also very active in magnetic motors who has often worked with Sterling.
This whole thing sounds sooo shaky. Why the SKDB rigamarole and 300? engineering companies to study and develope this technology? Why can't the inventor produce a working prototype and acquire a patent? A working model should easily get at least one company with deep enough pockets to bankroll this stuff, let alone 300. Pardon my skepticism but that's just the way I am.
Sorry big daddy! Reviewing it I can see that it has no value at all if not taken in context!!
This guy is posting on steorn.com/forum He posts there regularly, he's a really down to earth guy and has been following this saga for a long time (the 2 years running around in circles) and the last hurdle is to do with the recent learning modules. I think he's in the 300.
As regular as clockwork, he will try replicating any free energy design people talk about. The only difference is that he's always very balanced and makes it to see if it works without getting excited either way. (check him on youtube under "CLaNZeR" ). Everyone always waits to 'see if ClaNZeR can do it'. Of course he hasn't been able to do anything but make very professional toys as of yet.
The other one. One guy I know got on the phone with the engineer in the video on the steorn.com website. He is also still very much amazed by what he saw. He hasn't changed his position either (John Rice). He was really busy though, so couldn't talk really.

I read your entire article and I don't see that it said anything new other than you're still deluding yourself into believing that your articles are "news". They aren't... and you should have realized that by now.
BTW, CLaNZeR, the self-proclaimed "world-famous replicator", has been making a fool of himself for years. He endeavers to build every single "over-unity" device about which he reads (even the Mylow hoax!). He has, of course, failed in every one of his attempts. Check him out on YouTube and you'll see that he, too, gives weekly updates... until he finally gives up, pretends it never happened, and moves on to yet another failure. You will soon join his ranks.
The cow said it could jump over the Moon. The overly optimistic, overly open-minded one said, "Even though the lawsof physics say otherwise, I am willing to give the cow the benefit of the doubt and will faithfully report on its preparations to do so."
"You're not the loser, apparently the creator/Creator is. Happy to tell everyone about his brains and 'six figure salary' turns out it's to make up for impotence." -- john (2009-08-09 23:14:08)
Hi John! Yes, I am consistent. Much, much more than you are, right?
Clanzer can claim it's a hobby until he turns blue in the face for all I care. His "replicates" are truly hillarious! Watch as he wishfully gives them a spin, only to discover that they perform (i.e. fail) exactly as physics predict... amazing!! I've never heard of any hobby which consists of 100% FAILURE. I happen to know for a fact, that he spent a lot of time on one device which was described to him, but was a hoax, just to see if he fell for it (No, not the Mylow). Apparently, I'm not the only one who laughs at his "hobby".
I'm sure you can find my promise, john. Here's a hint: It's the post following your post containing the above quote.
Sorry, but I can't make any sense of your last sentence. Perhaps you could re-phrase it.
It looks like we both agree then. We'll both shut up while the blog continues and give the creator the respect he deserves for taking the time out (of his busy schedule) to post his thoughts voluntarily.
As regards my last comment- isn't it funny (unless of course that was your plan)? You've chosen 'simulant'. The root word is from 'simulate'. Simulate can only be done after something has been created (creator). He creates and then you simulate i.e. you will always be second to him. Just an observation.
I still respect Clanzer more than you. His hobby is making things, that is what he likes to do. He knows it's highly likely to fail but he also knows there are many people wishing they could confirm that the idea is a failure. I'd say his hobby is a worthwhile past time. It is how science works.
I'd guess you are probably nicoli tesla backwards, he's as strange as you.
At my most charitable, I would say that Steorn have stumbled over an effect they can't explain, but as Sean says the effect needs to be understood before it can be exploited, i.e engineers need to have an equation that produces predictable results. Therefore Steorn have followed the right sort of path; try to get qualified scientists and engineers to investigate and replicate the effect. So it sort of makes sense to get the jury and 300 extra heads looking at the mysterious "effect". To my view the fact that no-one has observed, replicated let alone found an explanation suggests that Steorn are just mistaken.
For the most part science is straightforward, Nature does not "lie". But there are plenty of parts of nature that are somewhat tricky, and very easy to misunderstand. As yet, no-one has found an explanation for cold fusion apart from an experimental anomaly. Cold fusion may be a possibility, but it must be an elusive one.
I think the long running pursuit of "free energy" devices represents some kind of human dream of perfection, heaven, nirvana, elixir of youth etc... but these are an inevitable evolutionary product of wanting to improve on the current state. If we had not desired improvement, we would not be where we are today.
But even when we have reached a pretty good state, we never stop wanting more. Because we already have a good source of free energy. It's clean, renewable and unlimited. But for some reason it's seen as "not good enough". Instead of chasing mythical perfection, people's talent would be better spent trying to improve the efficiency of what already works right now.
Yep, went right over my head; certainly not the first time that's happened. Good post, though, I respect your opinion (this time).
No, I am not he, but I have read all 5 trillion posts. You don't really believe they'd let someone like me in there, do you? My favorite member is mary_yugo (also seen on this site IIRC). Dann would be wise to heed her advice.
I like her as well. She occasionally steps a bit beyond what is necessary and doesn't give the benefit of the doubt (can be a bit rude), but she's a sound person. Usually very down to earth.
You can join the Steorn.com/forum, it's not very difficult. I didn't for a long time because I thought I couldn't but then I read one of the posts in the sticky at the top one day, emailed the moderator and joined (I have nothing to do with Steorn other than observing).
I don't know how many people realize just how well known the Steorn forum is. It can be fun to Google 'Steorn' for only .edu domains. If you're interested, try this one. All our favorite players are mentioned.
Long time (never actually) no see!! Hope life is good with you. Do simulants 'live' in the technical sense of the word? I think you are probably right. Steorn has become synonymous with improbable but mysterious free energy claims. And the forum maintains that aspect of interest (clever knowledgeable people giving their take on any new claims).
@creator -
I don't mean to be pushy, I know you are busy, but any chance of an update? It's been over a month. I read a comment by one anonymous blogger (who claimed to be in the private steorn forum) on some website that many of the <300 (less than three hundred as some refer to them) have come to the opinion that while interesting, Steorn don't actually have OU. What is your take on it?
My name is Sally. Have you two heard anything new about Steorn? Anything interesting going on? I've checked a few places but they all seem to be dead. Any idea why nobody is posting?

This reminds me of when you accidentally step in some crap and then there's an unpleasant whiff. Slowly the crap is removed while walking until it's all gone, but the memory of the crap lingers a while longer.
Doesn't look like there is an author any more although a fair amount of walking has been done.
Hey,
You are a loser. He is clearly too busy to bother posting here. He has a life (not interesting, but a life nonetheless).
Hey, creator? Are you single? Would you like to dilly dally with a sally?
It looks like the creator has made us and left. Why, oh lord, have you forsaken us? Please come back and tell your humble servants what we should do in your absence. We are but a small 'c' in comparison to your 'reator'.
Looks like we don't have a choice. The 'loser' (notice the small leters so as not to be mistaken for THE LOSER)is probably hiding behind the garden shed. Scared to come out and answer questions because he's realised that the Putz award was really awarded because he's a putz and it wasn't just someone having a laugh.

It's awfully large and very, very quiet in here. Do you think the author is a bit embarrassed to show his face? Come on and finish what you started, nah nah nah nah nah, finish what you started la la la la........
Is it too difficult to lift and lower your fingers to type a quick message about what's been happening? It's been 3 months now. You're acting worse than Steorn. At least they're honest in not giving information. You promised to post and then fell silent.
