Ron Paul - The Flame of Freedom

Ron Paul is widely considered a long-shot for the presidency. However, when one looks closer, the evidence reveals the truth.

Disclosure: First, let me state that Ron Paul does not endorse this article, nor am I speaking for or representing any other supporters of Ron Paul. The opinions herein are my own.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."
- John F. Kennedy

We are now on the dawn of a new presidential election, probably the most important election in several decades. However, this time there is a shining beacon of hope radiating from the midst of the same old' candidates. This beacon started as a spark, grew into a brush-fire, and now is spreading to the hearts and minds of every American who is brave enough to let it consume them. The word is getting out, you see. Liberty is ringing her bell loud and clear! The echoes of hundreds of thousands of voices can be heard everywhere! Some of these people are experiencing a feeling that had been dormant for many years. This unfamiliar feeling was the same feeling that ignited our founding fathers to begin a revolution against the oppression of their day. Their actions inspire us to begin a revolution against the oppression of our day. Can you feel it? You are not alone.

There's no mistaking the light from the flame of freedom. It cannot be quenched. It cannot be watered-down and force-fed through manipulated rules and regulations. It cannot be diced up into little bits and eaten as an appetizer. No, it must be swallowed whole. It must fill you up completely from within. Then there will be no contaminating it. There will be no bargaining or reasoning with it. There will be no corruption.

Unfortunately, many of the American people are choosing to cover their eyes and ignore the flame, or worse yet, due to a media blackout, they don't get a chance to even choose. As in the movie "The Wizard of Oz", many are ignoring the man behind the curtain. The media keeps feeding them what they want to hear and that is good enough. It's so perfect, really. They don't have to put forth any effort. They don't have to do any research. They simply sit down on their comfy couch in the security of their own home and listen to the media tell them who they think is the best candidate to vote for. All of the candidates provide the same policies with the same boring speeches. That is, until you look closer. No, not at your television set--at your computer.

The internet is the new frontier for politics. Many have grown tired of what they see, or don't see, on the news stations. There is a candidate that is rarely mentioned on the news, or if he is it is followed by some sort of slanderous comment about him or his supporters. Ironically, this candidate is the spark that I spoke of earlier. His name is Ron Paul. If you've never heard of Ron Paul, don't feel bad, a lot people haven't. He's been boycotted, for the most part, by the media. His message is too powerful, though, for them to suppress. He has won most of the straw polls held across the country.
(Source: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results/)

He's also won nearly every online poll by a landslide. Not to mention, he was the winner of the IndependentPrimary.com poll with a whopping 90% (23,524 votes). Huckabee was second with 1.8% (426 votes).
(Source:http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/2489/t/4823/content.jsp?content_KEY=3623)

In addition to all of this, Ron Paul also won the National Presidential Caucus (NPC) that was held on December 7, 2007. The headlines read, "Barrack Obama Wins Democrat Caucuses; Ron Paul Dominates Both GOP and "Open" Caucuses".
(Source:http://www.nationalcaucus.com/120707_results_announcement)

The NPC was a group of real people--voters--who gathered together to discuss candidates and vote. But, he's still a long-shot, though, because of his single-digit status in the national polls, right? Wrong. What the media fails to mention is that these national polls have some "convenient" flaws:

1. A lot of the polls don't even have Ron Paul's name as an option.

2. If Ron Paul's name is available and it is chosen, the individual is often asked to choose a candidate again until the individual either hangs up or chooses another candidate.

3. The people being polled are traditional conservative Republicans that voted in the last election. In other words, they’re not likely the people that would vote for Ron Paul anyway. (Ron Paul attracts a diverse group of disaffected Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, and people who have never voted in a presidential election before.)

4. Generally, the amount of people polled is between 200 and 900. Out of those 200 to 900 traditional conservative Republicans that voted in 2004, it's safe to say that less than 2% would support Ron Paul's message. Most of them support the neoconservative agenda.

So, what does all of this mean? Well, it's actually good news for any Ron Paul supporters. Essentially, what this means is that the real number and influence of the Ron Paul campaign has not accurately been measured.  Ron Paul could really win this election. His supporters are far more motivated and active than all of the other candidates in either party, combined. These people will be at the state primaries and they will vote. These people will work night and day to overcome the misinformation that media is spreading about their candidate. These people will not lose their revolution. There is far too much at stake.

You said it right: "There is far too much at stake". The next big hurdle is to make sure the votes get counted accurately!

Excellent - well driven to the point. I am so glad all the attention is on Mike Huckabee. Notice how they cannot find anything negative about Dr. Paul. this is a revolution full of love for Dr. Paul. He will win, we have no other choice.... Dr. NO for 2008

Ron Paul received contributions from over 100,000 different people this quarter. He received $18,000,000 from those 100,000 people. His support is wide and deep. Look around your town and notice you see RP signs everywhere. Grab a cup of coffee and go to http://freeme.tv

You are right! They don't know our real numbers. That's why they are afraid. Are we a minority as they keep saying? Or, will we be THE majority? I believe they will be shocked, but maybe they already know! That's the only reason to hide his message and fight us. Remember what comes next.........We Win! This is Our time. "We the People!"

Great observations and questioning of the accuracy of the polls.  Here's my calculation on the ultimate level of Ron Paul support in the primaries:

1. Take the poll numbers and increase them by 50% for starters since Ron Paul supporters are at least 50% (and more likely twice) as enthusiastic and likely to get out and vote as other candidate's supporters.

2. Then increase this support by another 50% since the polls survey sampling is likely substantially under-representing Paul supporters who are younger and typically without land lines and thus not included in their sample.   The "scientific" survey samples are also missing other individuals from their sampling who have never voted before (or at least not voted in the Republican primaries) and thus excluded from their survey sample as well.

Net result: take any "scientific poll" and multiply it by 1.5 and then again by 1.5 = 2.25.  Example: an 8% poll X 2.25 = 18% final vote total. (and I may even be conservative).  Sounds incredible, but not really.

My above calculation is not to say that the polls are crooked or intentionally biased.  It's just that they are inaccurate since they are based on an incomplete statistical sample base and they do not factor in the intensity of support. This primary season is likely to provide a future textbook example of how last century phone polling techniques have become erroneous indicators in the 21st century.

He is leading this quarter in fundraising for the Republicans and maybe for the democrats. His ethusiastic supporters ARE everywhere and they will vote.... they will vote in rain, snow, sleet, or earthquakes. That is why he will do very well in Iowa and he will potentially win NH. When all the Huckabees and Romneys are staying home cause it is too cold, who do you think will be out no matter what for their man? the good Dr. Paul. 70% of Americans want out of Iraq. All three of the top Democrats running have said that there is no way they could or would pull the troops out of Iraq until their second term in 2013. That is insane… It is not only Iraq though. Paul wants to pull troops out across the world. The U.S. population is only 1/25 of the world’s population, yet we spend 80% of the entire world’s military budget. We have troops in 130 different countries! We operate over 700 bases WORLDWIDE! THEY ARE BUILDING A NEW EMBASSY IN IRAQ THAT IS BIGGER THEN THE VATICAN! We still have 50,000 troops in Japan! 40,000 troops in Korea! 75,000 + in Germany! This is insanity and it is bankrupting America! Down with the military-industrial complex! Go Ron Paul! Champion of the Constitution! http://www.ronpaul2008.com http://www.pimpinturtle.com
